They were planning on kidnapping him. Suddenly the girl in the van notified them that the police were on their way. They decided to take him out and make it look like an accident and get away before the cops show up. The cops show up before they have time to leave.

Strange little tangent. The police officer shouting in 5:00 is shouting with a bavarian accent (frankonian maybe) but definitely not a Berlin based accent. Not that it is impossible that a police officer couldn't be living in Berlin but coming from Bavaria, but that just threw me off.
The first batch of police in squad cars would have broken in seconds. The moment they're facing automatic weapons, patrol police are entirely out of their depth and need to wait for backup. But conversely, the second wave of law enforcement with real fighting weapons would have just mowed everyone down in a few seconds at that range. A better scene would have had the characters blow straight through the first cars, get in the van, start driving, then get stopped by commandos manning a cordon. The two characters who are supposed to die are killed at ~100 yards, which makes it believable that the other two can escape detection. Filmmakers are apparently allergic to combat at more than water balloon ranges.

Buildings are usually illuminated and equipped with cameras, so you can move around one at a time and only in the shadows. Putting a guard on the ground in order to pick him up and use him as cover is not a good idea. The fighters must occupy the entire flight of stairs, moving along the wall; if there is silence, then with signs they will let you know where to move and where the contact is. Not the best example of tactical action within a group.
yes and a normal run of the mill patrol officer with service pistol that is way more effective in a gunfight then there special operation counterpart that like an lapd squad car with in light duty taking on a full swat team.
I love the CQB in the first bit of the video but at the end it was ruined, why did they showed trained SWAT units and police officers as untrained hordes who would charge into a direct line of fire.
I'm pretty sure street officers are trained to lay suppressive fire and immediately retreat if they come up against what appears to be a foreign military force. There's not much they can do except call in SWAT as a first response while getting the irregular army on the phone.

People who say they're using NODs on lit areas have never used Gen2+/Gen3 Autogating WP, AP, or actual NVGs ever. It'd be more realistic if they used clip-on thermals along with the NODs since they want to look out for enemies.

People who say they're using NODs on lit areas have never used Gen2+/Gen3 Autogating WP, AP, or actual NVGs ever.
It'd be more realistic if they used clip-on thermals along with the NODs since they want to look out for enemies.
