Altho this is really good, I truly like the English dub more than this. "I don't need hands to pray". HXH English Dub was done so well it lives up to the hype of the original Japanese Dub (but of course nothing beats the original language its supposed to be lol)
It's also very reminiscent of the black knight and therefore very funny. Someone had to have make a fan comic of Netero dressed up as the black knight.
Fun little call back. Genthru (the Bomber) from greed island had a power called 'little flower'. Miniature Rose is a call back to this that implies Genthru was actually inspired by the name of the bomb, when naming his own technique
This was the perfect way to show that humans aren’t too different from ants. Netero died a very ant-like death, which is for the colony, or in his case humans. While Meruem is gaining humanity, the characters we are rooting for are losing it. Another amazing thing was showing that humans are the ones capable of the worst evil. Meruem may be seen as this all-powerful destructive being, but in the end, it was a nuke (which humans created and use) that ended it all. The scariest things are happening around us lol.
To add to this, it wasn't even the most powerful nuke tested by humanity, but a low budget mini used by poor dictatorships. In the grand scheme of things, given optimal time to prepare, that bomb was only a mere fraction of the true horror humanity is capable of unleashing upon the world. As much as Meruem represented, the great King of the Ants, the pinnacle of all that an individual can be; at the end of the day, humanity is both hope and malice incarnate, fickle in nature. Mereum learned exactly what being on the wrong side of humanity is like, and it's woefully pretty in the night sky.
@@MrPlasmaFox Yo your line "Meruem learned exactly what being on the wrong side of humanity is like, and it's woefully pretty in the night sky." is so fucking good, imma steal it.
A POOR MAN's NUKE, not even a top of the line nuke, like a nuke from 80+ years ago 3rd world country. What does this imply? That Meruem was never going to win, That the Ants never had a chance to begin with because the government didn't even take them seriously enough to use an expensive nuke. This Implies that there are much much stronger nukes in that world. From the start, if the ants ever got too loud, a first would country would just drop a FEW EXPENSIVE nukes on the entire castle, kill everything there, make it a nuclear wasteland for the next 100 years and move on with life. Netero chose this fight btw, he didn't have to, they only wanted someone to lead the king away from other people, to a safer bomb zone. Netero decided that he wanted to face an enemy as strong / stronger than him (when was the last time he's ever been the underdog). Which is why when the King gave him SEVERAL outs, he took none of them, he was like "nah lets run this fade"
I’ve always loved the conundrum on humanity this show poses, shown in simple things like Meruem’s obsession with his name. Naming is a human concept. It just shows that from the moment the Chimera Ant Queen thought of naming Meruem, it already signified that even in their goals to rule, they were still under the influence of humans... and humans are fucking scary. This arc wonderfully shows that, from the way humans terrorize not just other species but its own and, as Netero put it, its infinite potential for malice? Chimera ants didn’t stand a chance from the get-go, especially after they abandoned their unity or their shared sense of purpose - which is probably the only edge they had against an established species.
The Rose took out a mountain range. Zero didn't even destroy the room they were in. Galaxy stuff was just to look cool. One man's aura isn't stronger than a nuclear bomb.
Fun fact: Netero lost the limbs that he used against Gon and Killua in the ball game (he didn't use left leg and right arm, here he loses his right leg and left arm), that was his bias.
Apart from his nen the king's most powerful abilities are his IQ and potential of evolution which is very fast compared to other species the king evolved to this much powerful creature in around 40 days

The point of the last line "It was popular with small dictatorships" was basically to say that the ants had no chance to win to begin with. Brilliant.
thats why the malice line is more appropiate, they would never predict that we were willing to nuke ourselves to preserve power

correct japanese line: Never understimate humanity's potential for malice...
Both are correct
Both words were written in the manga. And in the sub he says “shinka” which means evolution. Americans just think “malice” sounds cooler.
Evolution is better because it's more deep
Evolution is more appropriate as it refers to humanity and technology and the extent we use it for.
