A new series of videos for Macro photographers starting up in Macro photography, in this video I will demonstrate why you shouldn't be using the Focus Ring for Macro photography and why you should be suing the sway method instead

I am gald that you start this series because macro photography is one of my niche. I am sure that I can learn sometihing new and pick up sam god tips. Cheers.
Thanks for commenting, I’m sure there will be some tips along the way that will help you get some awesome photos 😀
Excited for this series, Keith. As a macro noob, this is much appreciated. That’s a great focusing tip!
Thanks Keith :-)
I often use the "servo" focus setting on my Canon camera as this helps with a moving subject. The subject might not be moving but if you are swaying then there is some movement involved.
Servo is a great one to use, this is more a fail safe method when your focus just hunts and you miss the shot.
Thanks! Great video 👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks, much appreciated 😀
Hi Keith, Great video and great tip. I do enjoy macro photography and tend to use tripod. I definitely going to give this technique a try. Take care mate. Shawn.
Hi Shawn, thanks for the comment, you should give it a go mate, once you get into it, you won’t stop , it’s quite addictive
What tips or advice would you like to see on Macro Bytes?
Hi Keith hope you're well. Just a thought but what about a monthly video that people could follow along with, a bit like a hands on.
Best wishes stay safe Jon and Karen
Thanks Jon. That’s a great idea, and I already know why my first one will be a bout 👍🏻
Very good tips Keith. Be well.
Thanks Enrique 😀
Greetings Keith, once again a nicely presented video. I have always enjoyed creating macro images. Some work, and some do not. I think it's more the fun of trying to create something. You even got me to revisit the one mentioned in the video. I kind of miss the Macro Monday episodes. Being one who is also trying my hand at the subject I can understand why they are few.
Thanks Jeffery, macro is fun to do, my problem with shooting it is it’s hard to film macro and take the photos, move around with the camera etc, and I think insects are the most interesting subjects.
Great video Keith 👍
Cheers Mark.
Hi Keith hope you're well. Great video tutorial and advice, macro photography is something I've not done much even though I have a 105MM macro lens. Looking forward to watching this series of videos.
Best wishes stay safe Jon and Karen
Hi Jon, hope you are both well, it’s worth having a go at, it’s something you can do without leaving the house.
what the heck did you do to that beautiful lens ?!
I was photographing something at home and dropped It, I was devastated when it hit the floor! Luckily it’s quiet robust and still works perfectly 🙂
