    I have the old 46mm small second titanium and i've worn it every day for 5 years, I still find it breathtakingly beautiful. It's been put through hell and never had any issues with it. Great video.

      I've seen that model in person a couple times. Really like it. Glad it's held up so well. I believe I'm just past 3 years with mine and I have no complaints at all. Thanks.

    I see you've managed to almost perfectly synchronize seconds hands of both watches, Bob. Well done. For some reason I like the older one just a tiny bit better. Thanks for sharing.

      My Watch Addictions The Aquis would be right up your alley. I know you like the beefier, tougher look sometimes and this definitely fits the bill. Build quality is amazing too! Glad to see you get in on the tours BTW too👊

      I actually purchased the newer model by accident and am going to be selling the Oris Aquis it is brand new condition
      I would not have purchased if I had known the difference before I made the purchase
      It is definitely smaller and I am not a fan of the newer watch
      I like the older more beefier watch it looks more masculine and tougher

    Agree with Galin_G - I greatly prefer the the older bracelet. I have more expensive watches, but the old Aquis is still one of my favorites. Unlike many divers, it has a unique look that does not look like a Sub homage.

    Thank you for a great review. Picked up the previous generation black with orange markers yesterday. In comparison with my new models ( I have the blue and the green in 43.5 mm with the Sellita movement), the biggest difference for me, on wrist, is in the width and thickness of the bracelet on the 2017 model which makes the watch much bulkier and more like a tool watch than the current model which comes off as more refined. The crown guards are also a little chunkier on the older model however this is visible only to the wearer. Finally, the ceramic bezel on the older watch has a satin as opposed to the newer model's high gloss finish which I personally prefer. Overall, for me, the newer model is more appealing.

    For people that are interested I own both the old and new and although the case size is classed as 43.5mm it actually isn't, the bezel overhangs the case to make it easier to rotate but the actual overall case dimensions are much smaller than the old model, it's also a lot lighter due to the slimmer bracelet and overall it's a lot more comfortable than the old model, I have a 7.0- 7.25" wrist.

    • @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces
      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @Lee_K_5555
    @Lee_K_5555 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    WOW Bob -- this may be your absolute best video ever! You have really stepped up the production values and it looks fantastic. Bravo!
    As you know I had a Gen 1 Aquis and made the mistake of getting the matte blue dial with blue bezel variant that I could never bond with due to the grayish tone of the color. It looked dull and lifeless in almost every lighting condition. It pained me to let it go because there were so many other great things about it (unique design that isn't a Submariner homage, arguably one of the best bracelets in the business, comfortable fit that wore surprisingly small), so I had high hopes for the Gen 2 when it was announced. I think I actually like the new hands a little better, but the thinner bracelet has diminished the chunky aesthetic just a little. Since I'm a strap junkie, I was always challenged by the proprietary lugs of the Aquis and the Gen 2 makes it even harder to switch between the bracelet and the OEM rubber strap with that ridiculous three-bladed screw head. I don't understand that move at all.
    So, mixed feelings from me about the Aquis. I feel that the Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro provides the same Sellita movement as the Aquis with a similar feature set and quality level for about two-thirds the price. If I were tempted to get an Oris diver in the future, my heart would be more towards the vintage-looking Sixty Five. I've tired one on in a jewelry store and was quite impressed.
    Thanks again Bob, for a fantastic comparison between the two Aquis generations.

    • @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces
      @TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lee K Thanks Lee. Really appreciate that. Too bad about the blue version. Havent seen that one in person but I get where you're coming from. I felt the same way about the integrated bracelet at first too but I just love the bracelet on my older version so much I don't see the need for a change (although I've been considering the rubber strap as an alternative since I've owned it).
      The Christopher Ward is something I'd definitely like to check out in person at some point. I've always liked them.
      I've actually just got in a beefed up computer with a better video card that can run a better editing software. Probably a bit of a learning curve but I'm hoping to take it up another notch here soon.
      Thanks again and have a nice weekend:)

    Great video thank you. I have both the 43.5 mm green and the 46mm small seconds in blue new Acquis, The most beautiful case and dial compared to any watch in the world. To me they are more attractive than anything on the market from Rolex to Omega to Bretling etc. However I am so disappointed with the new bracelets especially on the larger 46mm. Such a masculine imposing case with a thinner bracelet does not cut it. The older one had more thickness, more width at 20mm at the clasp and more depth which gave it that extra dimensional effect. I don't if they are taking a page from Rolex by going more refined or what?? But surely not as effective. If weight was the problem then they should go 100% with titanium and problem solved for an extra 1 or 2 hundred bucks on such a beautiful piece who would care. I don't know if the old fits the new but If they do, i wanna swap them over at some stage.
