I actually LOVE the integrated bracelet on the Aquis. It gives it a strong and secure feel as well as a uniform and cohesive look. I don't mind integrated bracelets as long as it's done really well, such as the Aquis.
I may never be able to afford most of these watches but my lord I really enjoy these videos. Very vell made from start to end. Especially the intros. Bought a Seiko turtle a few weeks ago and just love it. Thanks for the hard work here TGV.
Thank you Jim, that is the outlook of a true enthusiast and as for your choice, that just confirms it. Outstanding choice, enjoy the turtle. Best regards, TGV
I have 2 Seiko turtles: one with the anthracite gray dial which I put an Uncle Seiko rubber chocolate bar strap on, and a "King Turtle" with the OD green waffle dial and ceramic bezel on which I put the steel bracelet from another turtle I used to have. I'm about to pull the trigger on the limited re-issue 6105. As you can see, I really like my turtles, LOL! You made a great choice!
I am a 17 y/o who has been watching your vids for a few months now and you have really helped me develop a passion for watches. I have finally decided to take the plunge with a Seiko Alpinist, a Tissot le locle powermatic 80 and a Dan Henry 1962 'evil panda'. Many thanks, Oliver.
Oris is my favorite attainable brand. I have four, including two Pro Pilots, a rectangular and an Aquis on the strap. Love them all! Tremendous quality, design and relative value.
Great career and great choice! Congrats and good luck! I'm the nurse too and I always suggest to my colleagues (or soon to be as you are) to get a watch with crew down crown. Every other time when glows are taken off they pull the crown out, it's easy to miss and when you wash your hands water goes in! That's how I ruined my Seiko Chronograph. Please consider this if you guys love your watch. Peace!
I also bought a ray II this week, amazing watch for the money, the cheap bracelet is the only negative. But i already ordere a better quality bracelet from strap code.
Congratulations on your purchase and congratulations on getting into nursing school, nurses are the backbone of medicine and everything we do is because of their hard work! I work in the medical field too, my Sea Dweller is about the same size as your ray II and is a very wearable daily watch, wear your new watch in good health my friend!
Urban Gentry videos are pure class and truly educational. Case in point: I have always admired the Aquis, but never pulled the trigger for the reasons pointed out in this video. I did, however, buy a Christopher Ward Trident 600 Pro based on a previous TGV review, and I absolutely adore that watch. Having watched this video, I am looking at the Aquis with new eyes. It is beautiful and, who knows, there might well be a place in my collection for another expensive (for me) Swiss diver. Thank you for these great, informative reviews.
Just bought my first Oris Aquis Date. It’s 43.5mm with the sunburst grey dial and the relief bezel (Yachtmaster-like) on a bracelet. I dig it. MRSP $2,300. I found mine on Fleabay, worn 4 times, two months old and purchased directly from Oris with the 2 + 1 yr registered warranty. My final winning auction bid you ask? $938.00 usd. Just over 1k with tax and shipping. Thrilled to death with the purchase and watch. Now, Oris just told me to grab my ankles as I shell out $315.00 for their proprietary black rubber strap and clasp…
Recently got my first full time "big boy" job as a science teacher, so to celebrate I treated myself to this beautiful watch. When I finished my undergrad biomed degree I bought a Hamilton pilot day date. For my eventual 30th I've got my sights set on a Railmaster. And for everything in between, I know I'll have the fun and camaraderie of these videos and the UGWC to no doubt influence other purchases. Been watching for a few years now and it never stops being a pleasure. You introduced me to the SKX and from there it has been a never ending ride. Cheers TGV.
I own the 39.5mm Aquis with blue dial for almost 2 years. I love it and wear it every day with pride. The integraded bracelet is a major part of the look and charm of the watch, like the Nautilus and Royal Oak. The quality and comfort of the bracelet made me also to look not of other options. Best diver under 2k for sure! Best regards from Holland
My God! Beautiful frame at 13:31 when you give us the x-ray vision of the sellita movement with the case placed on the submarine longitudinal internal image. Cinematographic!
The Aquis is just awesome!!! I bought my 43,5mm blue dial after seeing your previous review, 2 yrs ago! It was my first ’more expensive’ watch. My absolute favorite in my collection! This new incarnation is a real stunner!👌🏼
Favourite watch in my collection! I often leave home more renowned watches to rock it. It just looks so good on my wrist....and that dial is phenomenal!
I bought the exact same version of the Aquis in February and it's my favorite Aquis EVER! Thank god they made a stunning blue dial in a 39mm size. It's just beautiful for smaller wrists... thanks Oris & thanks TGV for this review!
I tried the 39.5 on at an AD but it looked and bit too dainty on the wrist so I went for the 43.5 instead. Great watches but I reckon the 41.5 will be THE perfect one.
Hello, TGV, glad to see another indept view at the Oris Aquis making me even more trigger happy on buying it and the way it plays with the light its just so beautifull to look at!
I have seen your video from your collection of 2019 and I must say I am impressed, you clearly don't follow the masses, your collection it's very private and with 'soul'. I must say it's the best collection I've ever seen, Bravo
I owned the larger green Aquis (the very one TGV reviewed on this channel!) and it is an outstanding watch. I let it go mostly because I am a strap spaz and did not care for the integrated bracelet. I still appreciate the new Aquis models and this example is simply stunning! (I almost bought one myself) If any one is interested in an alternative of equal quality from a path less traveled, check out the Monta OceanKing. Equal depth rating, thinner case, beautifully applied markers, SW300 or ETA 2892 movement regulated to +/- 5 SPD (I think they are still doing this, my OceanKing runs at +3 SPD), and an outstanding bracelet with "glide-lock" type adjustment.
TGV, you never cease to amaze....that intro was beguiling. The entire video was spot on! I too have been a fan of the Aqis for quite a while, and after your video I appreciate it even more. Extremely well done. Thanks. Onward and upward!
So happy you are reviewing the best watch in my collection, I have #1482/2000 My first Swiss watch and I absolutely love everything about it apart from the lugs however I don't think I will be swapping out the bracelet although I also have a black rubber Oris strap I got with the watch for free👍 Compliments whenever I wear it, stunning dial and the overall quality is amazing. Unique, 39mm, and the message behind the watch made this a must buy for me at £1800.
Just fitted the black runner strap to my clean ocean, I have to say I prefer the look rather than the blingy bracelet, makes the watch look much more casual with a sporty twist.
Purchased one of the Clean Oceans back in July, after waiting 4 months for the initial release...can honestly say it didn't disappoint, and nearly a year on it's still a pleasure to wear...photos will never do this timepiece justice!! Great video once again!!
In that price range, I'd love to see a comparison of the Aquis to, say, the Mido Ocean Star Diver 600, the Longines Hydroconquest, and maybe the top Christopher Ward Trident!
I have Aquis Chronograph and I totally love it. From my point of view - Oris has very cool design, comparing to mentioned brands. Longines looks boring to me, Christopher Ward - is not just there with quality, design and heritage ... Oris is definitely my favourite brand ... well, together with Omega.
I got my Oris 39.5 about a year ago and it is still my favorite watch, the quality and feel of the bracelet is great. I like that it has a beautiful dial and the size is perfect for my skinny wrist which is rare to have smaller watches in the diver area
About six months ago I watched your video when I couldn't sleep..and I got hooked. Since then I've bought a TAG HEUER, Seiko Prospex and most recently an Orient MAKO III. Keep up the great videos.
With all the turmoil and craziness in the world, it’s an escape to watch these watch reviews. Purchased my LACO Flieger and my most recent, Sinn 104 limited edition based on the reviews on this channel. Keep the videos coming!
I deeply appreciate your detailed review that covers every aspects in the watch. This really helps me to fully understand Oris Aquis. If I were buying one someday, it’s all because of this video :) Thank you again!
That 6 o’clock date is almost unnoticeable and that oyster flipped brushed center, polished outer bracelet is soooo handsome. Beautiful and balanced. I have to have one
I received an Aquis 43.5 mm, blue dial with black rubber strap to celebrate my 40th birthday a couple of months ago. I absolutely adore it. I get so many questions and compliments about it and wear it as a daily. - Great review as always :)
Thank you for this review, as a still relatively new collector I have yet to break the $1,000 mark with any of my watches and this definitely has me thinking

Really enjoyed watching this one while wearing my Oris Aquis Clean Ocean. Picked mine up about 3 months ago, and has barely left my wrist since. It was really cool seeing how different the case back is on the one in your video compared to mine, makes it feel truly unique!
Great review TGV! I agree with you, this is the 'most meaningful limited edition' out there. Owners should wear it with pride. I remember Aquis being a discussion topic at a South Korean online watch forum once. Someone made a very interesting point: Aquis actually has the best looking dial in the diver watch market, and people would buy Aquis instead of Submariner if both pieces were 'brandless'. I still think about that sometimes.
Late last year I was planning on purchasing this watch, I slowly walked away from that idea until today. You've put this to the top of my list. Well done on a brilliant video
Tris that was such a brilliant review. As an English student, I'm inspired by your writing! And that aquis has been on my list for a long time now. Have a cracking day mate
I love the Oris limited edition divers! They have a Lake Baikal edition now too. My only wish is that they had traditional lugs so that one could switch out straps. I do realize however, that the lug design is part of the Oris design DNA.
I purchased this watch about a month ago and you're right on target with your assessment. I look forward to wearing this watch whenever I can! To me it is absolutely perfect and the quality is top notch. I think it may have spoiled me a little looking at other watches in this price range. Add the "feel good" factor and it's a no-brainer hit!
I just got my first seiko today and its the skx i needed a field watch, being stationed in japan it rains alot. I really started getting into watches after watching all your videos thank you for getting me into the hobby. I find more marines and try to turn them to the hobby as well THANK U
Just picked up a 1991 tag heuer professional 1000, box and papers. Lovely watch, not as pricey as some of my others, but a real eye catcher. Lovely new daily beater.
Have the Clean Ocean myself and really enjoy it. In my opinion, the Aquis is the best-looking modern diver out there, and the incredible quality of the bracelet means that I don't begrudge the lack of options of replacing it with a different strap.
TGV! That's my eBay listing for the 40mm Aquis Tungsten. I tried reaching you so we could connect on a sale at a much more reasonable price (pass through to you) so that you could have it back in your collection but never heard back from you (I wrote over the holiday). I know what's it's like to regret a sale and happy to help another watch collector get one back into the stable. Plus, I owe you for all the wonderful content over the years. If you're interested in it, it's yours. Darren
Hello Darren, Thank you for contacting me. Unfortunately I never got your email. If I wasn't so broke I would snap it up! Good luck with the sale, I would love to help you if I can. Have you tried selling it in the UGWC or to Watchbox? Best regards, TGV
@@theurbangentry No worries! I tried emailing you directly through ebay and I guess it fell short. I appreciate what WatchBox is doing, and I occasionally list watches for sale on the FB group, but I normally sell on ebay for profit these days. Figured I'd pass this through to you at cost since I wouldn't be here without you. I'll probably keep it in the collection a bit longer. If you change your mind, the friend price to you is 875.00 shipped (bought it out of the JDM). If you ever see anything on my ebay store you like (seller id Dtrain) you get best pricing. There's a Tudor California dial 34mm listed that might catch your eye. Even the Mrs. might like it! Thanks for everything over the years.
That watch is absolutely stunning, and honestly has a bit more appeal to me than the modern Omega Seamaster from an aesthetics standpoint. I also love the clean ocean unique caseback aspect. Thanks for mentioning the 43mm option. Although I wear my 39.5mm Blue Alpinist with pride, I feel a dive watch should have a more tool-y/bigger presence on the wrist, and 43mm works perfectly for my 7.25" wrist, much like the 39mm works quite well on your smaller wrist. As usual, excellent review.
UG, a truly fabulous timepiece, and a truly fabulous video. Pure class, that's what you are. The Aquis 43mm hands down is my favorite watch, as Oris is my favorite luxury brand. Thank you for your dedication to the hobby. Question, have you ever considered doing an episode on Aragon? Not a "luxury" brand, but fabulous bang for your buck....
Wow that's great! I just bought the exact same watch a week ago! I absolutely love this version and it has a perfect size. I nowadays own a lot of watches up to Rolex, Omega, Breitling and even a modern AP. But I have to say that this Aquis is at least on par with Omega. And that's simply stunning for this price! The only drawback compared to Omega is the movement in terms of accuracy as well as decoration. But then you have again to compare the prices so nothing wrong with the Oris Aquis here. All the best from Germany!
It took 3 months for me to get this Clean Ocean. It’s limited one and already sold out in Korea but I managed to get one finally. Color, size and caseback with plastic are fantastic. And what makes me more happy is just wearing this watch makes me feel that I’m a person who care about ocean and environment. What a watch.... Btw, new Aquis calibre 400 dial color seems exactly same as Clean Ocean....
Loved this one. I've been thinking about an Aquis lately. It does sort of bum me out that it seems like the higher-end you go in divers the fewer day/dates you find. The entry level is full of them from Seiko, Orient, etc. but as soon as you get closer to $1000 and you start also wanting sapphire glass and ceramic bezel inserts, all of the sudden you can't find any.
Every time I think I'm out, you keep pulling me back at in! This watch is a work of art and the sea plastic seal on the back effectively makes it a one off. I'm never going to have any money but maybe a awesome watch collection
Great video TGV. I'm glad you went back over the history of their modern divers. I'm wearing my 300m TT1 today and I still prefer the look of this to the Aquis. Personally, I think the bracelet is that good I wouldn't want to change it. I love the originality of Oris designs and they certainly hold their own against watches costing double the price.
I must say you are simply a wonderful enthusiast. Very in depth, very specific, very classy. Best watch reviewer on TH-cam actually. Question though, does oris have recycled plastic on all their dive watches? I thought that was so unique and what helped make the watch one of a kind regardless of being the same collection.
Wristwatches were never one of my thoughts until I was looking for a gift for my brother in law and stumbled upon your channel. I've become a big fan and I always enjoy watching your videos. I'm not an elegant person and not wealthy at all so most of the beautiful watches are out of my budget. Still I'm delighted to watch your videos and appreciate all the work you put into these. I know my brother in law will find a quartz watch more useful than an automatic but I feel like I'll betray you if I bought him a quartz haha.
An absolute pleasure my friend, so happy to have you with us! Thank you for taking the time to share that, it inspires me no end. Haha on the Quartz, having said that, my Flightmaster is my favorite quartz watch. Onwards and upwards, Best regards, TGV
As usual your videography is impeccable, sublime. The videography definitely compliments this watch. Oris is well served by your presentation. All the best - RKL
It's awesome to hear rnevan got into nursing school. I just finished my first semester of nursing school and I'm thinking of getting an Oris aquis hammerhead to celebrate.
I just bought the Audi Sport model Oris to go with my R8. It turned out, I like it a lot more than I thought I would. The watch looks very good and the lume is great... Maybe I'll look at one of these too soon
Good evening TGV, thank you for giving us in depth insight into the Oris brand! It's always a brand that is a little under the radar and that one has to experience himself. I was very pleased to experience the Aquis first hand. Incredible value! Have a great Saturday!
Hello Heiko, I could not agree more, it's deffo the choice of the true enthusiast. Have a great Sunday too my friend, thank you for the comment. Onwards and upwards! Best regards, TGV
I tried this color on at my local AD and it was an absolutely beautiful watch, I loved it. The price not so much, Oris prices have been steadily increasing over the last few years more to the 2K mark than under 1.5K. Also not being able to change out straps other than their proprietary ones turns me off.
Wow TGV! That was an awesome intro, adding it the the long list of best TH-cam intros that I have seen. Strangely your channel seems be the only one on that list!!!
Thanks TGV for another superb video. I have deliberated between this watch and the standard blue 39.5 which I ended up buying. First, there is a price bump in the limited edition one worth mentioning. Second, ocean garbage is put in a luxury watch and worn in contact to the skin. If they wanted reflect their recicling efforts they should have made the huge watch box out of this recicled plastic instead. Third, the plastic medalion adds an unwelcomed 1mm to the thickness and gets rid of the exhibition window.
Great video as always! Just a small note: the 2013 Aquis gauge is not the first watch with a built-in depth-gauge. Many watches in the 70s (some Squale and Dugena as an example) featured a depth-gauge working in the same exact way as the Oris one.
I really like the Oris Aquis with the beautiful blue dial. Presently my small 3-watch collection is in the $300 to $700 range. I plan on getting 2 more watches in this price range and have a pretty good idea what I will buy. I am always interested in the $1000-$2000 range because I plan on getting one, maybe two. Thanks for the excellent reviews you give us. Newbies like me are fascinated.

@@M82RKY #117 here. I live near a Oris AD and I have to say that the new Lake Baikal edition looks amazing too!
This VIDEO has made me fall in love with the BRAND and the Watch....Soooooooooooooo..........I JUST BOUGHT IT!

I bought the exact same version of the Aquis in February and it's my favorite Aquis EVER! Thank god they made a stunning blue dial in a 39mm size. It's just beautiful for smaller wrists... thanks Oris & thanks TGV for this review!
Oris Aquis - Source of life edition is the best looking diver in any price point. Amazing watches!

You won't regret it mate, I am wearing it right now and absolutly stunning.
Try haggle and get a free rubber dive strap, I managed to get one👍

Fantastic! They just released a 41.5 Aquis, hope you get one in soon TGV!

Wow, this intro is outstanding! All intros are great here, but this particular one is just so good!
I hope you go for it, it will not disappoint!
Thank you for the compliment :D
Onwards and upwards.
Best regards,
TGV
Tris that was such a brilliant review. As an English student, I'm inspired by your writing! And that aquis has been on my list for a long time now. Have a cracking day mate
That intro + the music were lit, great job TGV
Thank you :D
Best regards,
TGV
On a side note, I love that the windows on your Titanic model lights up. So cool.
I love them, I have this Oris Clean Ocean too . My favorite watch. great video ( also i have to say that the bracelet is insanely comfortable)
I managed to get the rubber strap included in the deal when buying my Clean Ocean, looks great with the black rubber strap 👌
I love the Oris limited edition divers! They have a Lake Baikal edition now too. My only wish is that they had traditional lugs so that one could switch out straps. I do realize however, that the lug design is part of the Oris design DNA.
I have modified a few rubber and leather straps to fit my Oris, still an adapter would be great
I purchased this watch about a month ago and you're right on target with your assessment. I look forward to wearing this watch whenever I can! To me it is absolutely perfect and the quality is top notch. I think it may have spoiled me a little looking at other watches in this price range. Add the "feel good" factor and it's a no-brainer hit!
Such timing! Just picked up my aquis today!
This episode may have had your best intro yet. I really enjoyed it.
39mm. Nice.
It’s no MARATHON ., it’s class. (Pure)
I have the save the ocean and I must say that this watch is very beautiful. Worth every penny.
Darren
Hello Darren,
Thank you for contacting me. Unfortunately I never got your email.
If I wasn't so broke I would snap it up! Good luck with the sale, I would love to help you if I can.
Have you tried selling it in the UGWC or to Watchbox?
Best regards,
TGV
Spot on, you just can’t do better for the money...and the new limited editions are Oris doing it right.
Which AD did you visit and how was the buying experience?
LONG TIME DIVER HERE- GOTTA DIG YOUR VIDEO OPENING FOOTAGE
I am incredibly happy with my new Oris. It is extremely accurate and I am blown away by its charm.
I have to say.. the intros you make get better every time! Good job man.
Just bought a squale 50 atmos in blue and i love it. keep up the good work 👍🏼
Epic intro! I’m in love with my 39.5 mm, in my opinion it’s the perfect size.
Thank you Jason, enjoy it!
I am fighting not to buy it again and rejoin your classy Aquis Owners club.
Best regards,
TGV
@Jordan Barbieri-Low I do not. I had my bracelet adjusted at a franchise watch repair store with no issues.
I like 39mm for a field/Explorer watch, but prefer 42mm for diver. To each his own. Nice one!
I've always loved the look of this watch. Thanks for revisiting it for us. Much love
Agree 100% Sir.
The intro was SICK I loved it!!!
Need more of those!!!!
Onwards and upwards,
Best regards,
TGV
As usual your videography is impeccable, sublime. The videography definitely compliments this watch. Oris is well served by your presentation. All the best - RKL
I found your channel a few days ago and I can't stop watching your videos, great job !!!
Okay hi guys and welcome to the show!
OKAY! CHOW!
Just bought the Clipperton Edition, and I really love it! It looks and feels awesome !
I love the mix of high end and low end reviews!
Love all your videos, going to search your previous videos on why Tag Heuer is so hated by watch people. Keep up the great work.
Good evening TGV, thank you for giving us in depth insight into the Oris brand! It's always a brand that is a little under the radar and that one has to experience himself. I was very pleased to experience the Aquis first hand. Incredible value! Have a great Saturday!
Hello Heiko,
I could not agree more, it's deffo the choice of the true enthusiast.
Have a great Sunday too my friend, thank you for the comment.
Onwards and upwards!
Best regards,
TGV
Just picked up an Oris Staghorn Restoration. I couldn’t be happier.
I bought this watch!! Wow, you’re presentation was incredible and sold me. I bought at Jared Galleria. My 3rd Oris!
Woah, that intro video was on a different level!
Love this watch. Any thoughts on the Captain Cook from Rado? Same price range.
I had two leather straps custom made to fit the lugs.
A superb watch and a superb video presentation. Keep the videos coming, TGV! And I'll keep tuning in!
So glad for the new review. This recently became my grail watch!
I think this watch is my new "someday" watch! So cool, functional and elegant top notch!! and as always love the history lesson thanks
@@Joshua-lz9sk Thank you ! Im in America though
Excellent video, just bought an Oris Aquis 39mm,stunning watch, love it
Strap is a deal breaker, good point.
Good point, i have never seen any secondary market straps either. Shame great watch.
