- In this week's episode - come with me as I head down to Charleston, South Carolina to celebrate my friend Jessica's birthday! In this video I will show you how to spend 3 days in this amazing city including where to stay, eat, drink, and shop!

There's so much to do and my best advice is just get out and walk and see what you find. The touristy things are there for sure - but the true gems are found while you're out wandering! Should have seen it in the late Seventies when the Geechees ruled Early eighties began to i Gentrify and now downtown is practically snowed in for lack of a better word . Gone are the Clarence McCants furniture store, Carl Harley Meat Market, Oliver Sandwich Shop, Petes Kitchen, many Stores were owned by locals and Native Charlestonians. On the Green was a place where the people had nice homes and access to upward mobility. Soring Street, Cannon Street, Ashton Street many streets were filled with 2 story black owned homes that were also converted into apartments and the Owners lived in the upper section of the houses mostly.
Oh how I wish I could have seen it back then - it sounds wonderful. It is VERY gentrified and I felt like the history of this town is completely glossed over - yet, we still enjoyed our time there immensely. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment - I truly do appreciate it.

If you haven’t done so already, please revisit Charleston during the last week of September when they have Moja Festival. It’s always a nice time.

Got to do a 3 day job in Savannah, and that was very pleasing. But I've been told over and over, you've got to get to Charleston!!!! Oh my, that place you had Jessica's birthday meal was OVER THE TOP !!! What was the name of it --- don't want to miss it when I finally get there!!

This trip to Charleston was so much fun. I love that it's only a 4.5 hour drive, so getting there is really easy. And yes Jessica is the best!!!! She just makes every trip so much fun. I can't wait to get back to Charleston soon - such a fun place and we only experienced maybe 20% of what it has to offer. That just means we have to keep going back.

I live in Charleston and haven't heard of a few of these places 😂 Anyway that was a great video but you could have tried the beaches, Mt Pleasant, etc,,. There's so much more fun to be had next time. Glad you ladies had a good time. Yall come back anytime!❤

I just came across your video, well put together. This is how to plan a three day trip. I love everything about the video, but I can't imagine drinking that much🤭 I'm planning a visit to Charleston the 4th of July this year.
I typically don't drink that much either - my friend Jessica is a bad influence, lol!!!!! But it was such a fun time and I can't wait to go back very soon. Have the best time in July - you're going to LOVE it!!!!

Love this vlog, you highlighted Charleston very well. with options. So would you say Charleston is a walkable city? Im planning a fall solo trip and Charleston is one of the places im researching.
Thank you!!! Oh for sure. We only took an Uber twice while we were there and opted to walk all the other times. Being there in the fall will be amazing because the weather will be so nice. Charleston is the perfect location for a solo trip - I say go ahead and book it! 😁

Hmmm…I’m gonna say we did the 3 hour class because we were definitely there longer than an hour. Although the multiple glasses of champagne helped the time fly by. 😅🤣

Do you recommend for me to stay Emeline vs Bennette us our anniversary. Is 4 days to many days at CHS or should I combine it with Savannah
I absolutely love Emeline and would recommend staying there to anyone. I haven’t stayed at the Bennett yet, but it is a beautiful hotel. Emeline is a smaller boutique that is very walkable to all that Charleston has to offer. Depending on what you like to do - I can absolutely see you having plenty to do for 4 days there. BUT Savannah is also magical - so if you split the 4 days between the two - you can’t go wrong! I promise no matter what you decide to do - you are going to have a great time. Promise!

You have to go to Gullah Grub. It’s a little drive out but it’s worth it. They were even on the Netflix show High on the Hog. Delicious!!! Have so much on your trip!
