    I gave up on Eurotunnel years ago due to delays and as their rolling stock ages it is clearly getting worse. Much nicer to relax on the ferry, already booked for next year. Glad you enjoyed it, Tesla make it so easy.

      Ahh so problems like that have been going a while hey. We thought it was just typical it happened to us. Made the journey home a very long one. Put about 4 hours on getting home.
      The Tesla did make the trip though very enjoyable 😉

      @@mikehainsworth747 hello. Back when we did this video the price was more like £100 for ferry and approx £150 for euro tunnel. We’ve been again this year and they have both increased a lot. Euro tunnel was more like £230 one way coming home. The ferry was approx £150 one way outbound to France. It’s so lovely over there. Superchargers are everywhere too so easy to travel about.

    Enjoyed seeing how easy the whole trip was.
    I did Preston to Cambridge via Shaw on Christmas Eve, starting of on 46%, the car suggested 2 stops and the car was waiting for us and not the other way around. Total cost was a third of what It has cost in petrol with the hybrid I had previously.
    I did go mad and upgrade to enhanced Autopilot, It did fine for most of the trip.
    I still have to sort out a home charging point.
    1200 miles in 3 weeks of getting the car, not bad going. :-)

    Like your style of video and easy talking to camera. We’ve had a 38 Ioniq since Jan 2020, doing lots of university trips to our daughter 450 miles away! It’s been a brilliant car, a bit painful for charging speeds particularly on the winter runs up north when we need a 4th stop or even a 5th and the daylight hours are shorter. Generally though it’s been great, we’ve been driving full EV since 2012 with c-zero then leaf.
    Anyway I came here after buying a M3 LR RWD ( the rare one ) new 12 days ago. It’s amazing, going to make those 900 mile weekends so much easier. It’s a private family car as well and we’ll be looking to do some France trips in it for sure. I think it’ll work out cheaper going to France in it, getting cheap hotels than it does in our motorhome.
    I’ve done 650 miles so far at 190Wh/mi, so a range approaching 400 miles…….or 200 more than my bladder.
    Stay well and keep enjoying the family trips……they’ll be in Uni/jobs before you know it.

    Eurostar is great when running smoothly as it only takes approx 35 minutes. However when there are delays you can be waiting for hours to board. Longest delay I've experienced was 4 hours after there were reports of people in the tunnels.
    If I'm not in a hurry I usually use the ferry. Crossing is nearly 3 times longer but I can't remember the last time I was delayed.

    • @EvClaireScott
      @EvClaireScott  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We used the ferry going over to France 🇫🇷 and thought we would do eurotunnel going home due to the time we was leaving France. Unlucky really that we got delayed, but yes it was a quick trip home once actually in the train.

    Great vids, thanks so much. Saw some of your 38kw Ionic vids when we received ours. I picked up a Model 3 Long Range earlier this month. We still have our 2020 Ionic as we’ve gone fully electric. I find that the Ionic is more efficient than our Model 3, and oddly enough there are things about the Hyundai that I prefer over the Tesla, mainly the climate control system, the safety assist and of course the efficiency. When the Ionic lease is up in 2023, I will probably get another Hyundai, probably the Ionic 5. What are your experiences and preferences between the 2 cars?
    Cheers from New York!

    • @EvClaireScott
      @EvClaireScott  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahh that's great thanks for watching us. At the min with it been winter, not the best for comparing efficiency, but yes the 38kw ioniq was super efficient and shocked us. Personally I don't think there is anything else I miss out of the ioniq. We only need 1 car luckily but yes the ioniq would definatly be a good choice if needing 2 cars comparer to some others.

    Was a nice series and I enjoyed watching it so thanks for the effort in making the videos. I wasn't sure exactly when it was filmed given the temps seemed warmer but when you flashed up the charging summary it looked to be at the end of October. The only suggestion I could make would be to drop the audio volume a bit when using the fill-in music but that may just be me. I had to increase the volume while you were speaking and decrease it when the music started - a small issue though. Cheers and enjoy your Tesla.

    Is your tesla standard range with claimed 305 miles range or 265 claimed , i took delivery of my rear wheel drive on 6 december , claimed range was 305 miles on full charge it shows around 273 miles .

      @@stefanjosh9114 well ours is 55 kw battery, as Tesla unlocked the newer LFP batteries and gave them a WLTP range of 274 miles which is our car.
      Ours has never showed that range though, but we do get 263-265 miles on 100% charge.
      You could get a obd link that will check the cars battery with scan my tesla app.

    Hi Thanks for the video.Eurotunel is fantastic and a miracle of engineering.Sometimes like other companies it goes wrong.They seemed to have pulled out all the stops for you as you ended up on a lorry or coach train by the looks of it.As to the car yes ,very good, shame about the blocking of the superchargers at Calais.When I was there in September there was nobody there.Top tip, don't get an earlier train unless you want to go pretty well straight away.PM

    • @EvClaireScott

      Those are the carriages for coaches and vehicles above I think 1.6 metres. Lorries go on open wagons sided wagons to mitigate fire risks. The lorry drivers are then shuttled to a carriage.
