Hey Tommy, not only does that pit look killer it sure looks like it can cook. I bought a top-of-the-line Ducane natural gas stainless steel grill it cost me a small fortune I hated running out of propane anyways picked up a ceramic kimono about 15 years ago once you cook with lump charcoal and wood you can never go back I have not used that thing in over 15 years but after watching this it hit me can you convert that to natural gas? I wonder if they make a kit to do that I’m gonna look into it have a great one 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍
@@thegalleryBBQ yeah Tommy at the time that Ducane was definitely one of the ones to get this would’ve been 97 and I think I paid like $1200 which was quite a lot of money back then that’s still very nice grill today. I just checked and unfortunately Pit Boss does not have a natural gas option I’m going to check if Blackstone or camp chef have that option I got the line I’d like to use it if it’s possible.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍
Great first cook Tommy. How does a steak on the griddle compare to a charcoal grill? I know there are many other things to do on a griddle but I’m not sure I’d like a steak on it near as much. I’d like to get your take on it. Thank you.
Different and I LOVE IT. Its kinda like hows that burger is compared to a charcoal griddle. It's different and tasty. So you lose that charcoal-flaming taste. But you gain that salty crust. I love them all. Maybe in the future ill compare the two!
Beautiful cook and griddle. I have a question though sir....Are you supposed to use nylon utensils with this cooking surface? Also is the cooking surface steel or aluminum. The reason I am asking is that I have a Blackstone E-Series 22" griddle and I find it very hard to keep temps up in regard to searing meat. My E-Series just drops when I put it on and has a very hard time recovering. Thanks in advance and love the channel. One more thing...you remind me of myself talking with your hands! Everyone tells me I do it too, so you are in good company!
Hi Wesely. I just sold my E-Series.... As far as Utensils, yes on the nylon and no metal. Fitted with our all-new proprietary non-stick armored ceramic cooking surface, the Ultimate Griddle delivers an unrivaled user-friendly cooking experience. The first of its kind, this exclusive surface is ready to use straight out of the box and is a dream to clean, needing just a gentle wipe after use. As an added bonus, the ceramic coating also protects the griddle from scratches and rust, keeping your unit looking better for longer.
I was waiting for this to come out and then finally read about the surface. No metal Utensils and was worried about durability. What is your early opinion holding up to the blackstone?
Awesome cook, nice flat top, but to big for what I need, I like my 22” BlackStone. Oh by the way, the E series has a non stick surface, that is why it is so slippery
Awesome video! I know I am a bit late watching this video but since youi have now had it for about ayear or so, how has it held up? I am in the market to purchase a griddle in the next month and I am looking at this same Pit Boss 5 burner griddle, the Halo Elite 4B, and the Traeger Flatrock. This is going to be my first griddle but I do a lot of outdoor cooking on my Kamado Joe Big Joe and I have a 55 Gallon Smoker and other different types of grills as well. What is your opinion between these 3 griddles that I mentioned? Thanks.
I hated it as it just diden't work for me. That said. Some people love it. I know have the Halo Elite 4B and am absolutely in love with it. I love the blue lights too Tommy! Great sear on those steaks! Question. Do you have to season a non-stick griddle top? And oil afterwards? Or is that just a habit from using a Blackstone? That griddle IS badass!
No you don't. It's ceramic. Oiling does nothing for the stickiness. Flavor is a different matter. You oil a cold rolled steel griddle top after use to prevent rusting. But with a ceramic coating that's not an issue. So no post cook oiling is necessary.
