***Corrections and Retractions on the video***
1 - After I made the video I was told Pit Boss doesn’t recommend using metal utensils. Even though their pictures show metal spatulas.
2 - They’re available at some Bass Pro Shops. Supposedly available online in 4-6 weeks.
    3 - Cost is around $400.

Waltwins what happened to the Blackstone videos? I mean pit boss makes a really nice smoker but when it comes to a flat top griddle you're going to want that cold rolled steel because you will be replacing that thing due to all the metal utensils that you accidentally use on it I know I've ruined many ceramic pans lol. I do understand pit boss is your sponsor though so you probably can't do Blackstone videos anymore. That previous generation of pit boss griddles looks pretty cool never cooked on one but the top wasn't ceramic and the lids were pretty flat. I like that.

Have loved cooking on griddles over the years so really not sure why I haven’t purchased one yet. This one in particular truly stands out for me. I just bought a Pit Boss Grill/charcoal/smoker and had some issues (1 damaged, missing a part, wrong lid)with 3 of them in a row. Pit Boss makes Walmart go good for there product because there a dealer for them. Walmart’s not the easiest to deal with. The price of them are way higher then $400 from where I have seen then. Here in Maine in my town they are going for $700-$800. My intentions were Pit Boss all the way. Watching your videos are so enticing to go get one, Lol. Every time I do there sold out. Hot item and very hard to get right now. Keep up your videos and proving “They are the Bomb” Griddle right now. My son has Blackstone and he really loves his. He keeps teasing me about getting mine so we can compare products and have a cookout to see if there’s any difference in performance haha. We are huge grill/smoker fans year round!!!

Because it’s a generally unnecessary extra step for manufacturing, and using, a griddle. These days, most people don’t have a clue how simple it is to maintain cast iron and carbon steel cookware. My gut feeling is that this is a novelty that will sell well today, but ultimately the units won’t hold up to the test of time like a traditional griddle top.

They messed up putting the grease drain in front corner. That ruins a griddle. Needs to be in the back. Hopefully they fix it with next years model. The no seasoning got my attention. Much easier to maintain than a blackstone type griddle if the griddle top holds up over time.

I’ve never had a griddle with the trap in back so I don’t miss it. I’m interested in seeing how the surface holds up too.

Dear CJ: it was nice of your to take the blame for bending the shelf, but in your opening video, we watched your son step on it attempting to lift the griddle off the shelf still in the box. It's nice of you not to throw your son under the bus...that's my job...LOL. In my youth, I was a Grillmaster at Steak & Shake on Brentwood Blvd. In Clayton, MO and have an enormous amount of experience with cast Iron griddle/grills. IF, and I say if, commercial restaurant operations are not moving to ceramic griddles, I'm going to hold off. You never showed us how you cleaned it. And I'll bet everyone would like to see the griddle surface a year later to see how the griddle surface has held up. There have been lots of videos on who's ceramic skillet is best and there is always a caveat about, yes, you can use metal utensils but they are not recommended...because it does scratch the surface. And even if you do use non-metallic accessories, the ceramics turn color after a while, are no longer non-stick and eventually the ceramic coating does wear thin and come/chip off. For $19 skillet, I can live with having to replace every couple of years. But replacing a griddle surface every couple of years??? But thanks for your efforts. I enjoyed the video.

Thanks for watching. And I’ll always take the heat for my boys. Couple of other tubers did “how to clean” videos. I’ll do 6 month and 12 month review videos to show how it holds up.

So sick of seeing these PitBoss video's. You all were in bed with Blackstone just about a year ago, and now you are all about this.

Did the metal utensils scratch the griddle? Are you still using metal or something else?

They didn’t when I used it. But, I switched to rubber or silicone when I cook on it now, just in case.

Can you provide the depth and width of the lift off component? Going to make it a table top unit and have limited space. Thanks!
