I'm going 4xreaper opener all the time and I learned the hard way, that at least a single siege tank is a total must. You cannot go full bio, because you'll end up like Clem in the 2nd match. Now imagine that he had a tank inside his main and possibly second in natural - then Reynor would have to tech up to ravagers or mutas or something along those lines, giving Clem time to regroup and either do another big attack or tech up too.

Marines in the field get their shield upgrade via orbital drop. They don't find their shield in their backpacks, they find them embedded in the ground, charred black (the shields have an ablative coating that lets them survive the heat of atmospheric entry). This delivery method is also said to provide some extra hardening for the metal. Or at least that's what they tell every Marine who gets sent out there without a shield, that they would be compensated with extra hardened shields when the upgrade is ready. It's not actually true, but luckily very few Marines are any good at metallurgy.

I am a very casual sc2 player (mostly playing co op with friends for fun) but love watching sc2, your youtube channel is perfect for someone like me to just watch good games and have someone enjoyable casting it :)

Conjagulations Lowko. Happy B-day. As someone who is just about getting over that hump let me tell you, at least physically and for me, you have a good 10 years before you start feeling worse for wear. Turned 38 this year and I started to notice physical annoyances (over the last ~2 years) that will never go away again.
Im a french terran so you might understand why im so happy everytime lowko casts a clem’s game :p
This far more difficult than rocket science. Rocket science, you take your time, set up everything perfectly, and never need to make quick changes under pressure.

I think Clem's biggest mistake in game 2 was to continue rallying his reinforcing reapers one or two at a time across the map, after his opponent stated ambushing them. He lost dozens of them for free. The short distance and the fact that he disengaged every so often to heal up meant that he could have just gone back to pick them up. With those extra reapers, he could have reached critical mass.
Not killing the Drone after forcing the cancel was another big deal. The extra time it would have taken to pull a drone and send it there could have made the run by for a cancel/snipe work, since the hatch would have had less health. Either way, the extra 50 minerals, denied mining time for the pulled drone and the possibly later hatch even if not canceled, plus taking away a larva are a major deal if you are trying to seal the deal with mass reapers.
Also, the first creep tumors are crucial, since they set the Range of further creep, sniping them would have been possible and worth it even at the expense of a reaper. It would have made denying the 3rd base for longer much easier.
Tips for Zerg defending heavy Reaper style.
1. Wall of launch pads with buildings if you can. But only with buildings you were already planing on building. Sometimes a few Zerglings can complete or perform such a wall off.
2. Overlord placement is so crucial for such matches. Do not keep your Overlords at home. Ideally, one should be at the enemy base patrolling, so you can tell if there is any switch in tactics. The second one near your own base, giving early warning and generating creep outside your creep spread. This increases the speed at which creep spreads and can allow you to push back the enemy just a bit further. Giving you accelerated map control.
3. Creep is just as crucial as Overlord placement, part of the job of the Overlord is to increase creep spread. So getting and defending creep tumors is vital. Try to time your creep tumor spread so that you can cut down the time they are vulnerable. Scans should be coming late, if you can get you creep spread well beyond your bases, your life becomes so much easier.
4. Counter harass and ambushing reinforcements, should start once you have enough Queens to at least hold with additional reinforcements you are producing. Gather free Zerglings and sneak them out and around to patrol into the path of reinforcements. Ambushing the reinforcements is big.
Since the tips all require some time for micro that might be put to better use elsewhere. Test and see what fits your style.
Great cast! Happy birthday Lowko! These games by professionals really show that terran needs it's static defense in flaming Betties and the nova turret that drops from her raven! Also where are the firebats??? And 2 target healing for medivacs?? Banshee's could be so much more useful if they had their Nova's AOE ability : Barrage. But most importantly where are science vessel and and their mech healing and irradiate.
Clem has such a fun and interesting playstyle. He's one of my faves to watch in Pro SC2. It's always "what's Clem gonna do next?"
Medivac and Marine drop is harrasement powerhouse and Warp pylon plays can also screw you up badly if you are unprepared so i thought i saw all the scaryness of transports, but holy sh*t, that baneling drop just scarred me for life.
I don't thinking we've ever seen so fast movements of the units on the battlefield in sc2 proscene, swift fights into waves of small groups of units fighting everywhere. I'd say we have reached another step on the ladder of this game. I guess we can call it sc2 total warfare.

Like that game when he added tech labs, and went mauraders he had it in the bag, no one was going for that position, he could have Built a factor there and pressed ahead to set up camp with a tank bunkers pride the zerg natural that he already killed but he went for a cc on the natural when there was no need to expand

keep a cane next to your computer. anytime someone attacks your natural grab and shake the cane screaming, "GET OFF MY LAWN" gives you automatic defense buffs...

I've always thought I'd be a Zerg player, but seeing Clem here and seeing my own gameplay, as well as finally getting to actually play as the other races, I'm reeeeeally leaning into Terran now.
So I came in on the 3rd game to the triple reactor after making my son's bottle, (we watch together) and you're absolutely right. I have in the past skipped the first 5-or-so ingame minutes on big matchups because it's pretty repetitive. Also, Happy Bday Lowko!

I know this is soooo late to when this vid popped but I wonder how map 2 could've been altered by a "scout" scv going towards the area reynor had been hiding lings and putting down a bunker before the inevitable wrap around occurred. As long as it built the bunker safely the biggest loss would've been scrap cost of the bunker if lings found it before reapers could save and if placed properly it could've saved the big reaper loss when lings came to sneak up with the surround with extra vision
