@beach 995 a mocca has a filter too. Both will create similar pressures. Both by far not high enough for a true espresso.
To me this is just a modern and fancy mocca

It's a delicately designed and produced machine
Less expensive version is called a moka pot. Essentially the same principle - boiling water on the bottom rises upward through the coffee and collects in the upper chamber. The 9Barsita is the single dose version of a moka pot.

That thing really is a piece of engineering art. And it seems to make a pretty decent looking cup of espresso. Or, at the very least, it is the most espresso-like of the espresso-adjacent strong coffee beverages from moka pot variants.
This is real espresso, not just espresso-like.
@@JensThestrupToftis that true? I considered buying but this thing looks like it had the same “weakness” as moka pot. In moka pot you have to insert heated up water to shorten boiling time, which will avoid heating up the coffee powder, which causes extreme bitterness.
In this video they added seemingly room temperature water. If this tool can boil room temperature water without heating up the coffee powder too much (which is possible since the amount of water is small) then I’ll consider buying it.

@@adamnealon773 thank you. However I’m not concerned about the pressure. I’m concerned about the time it takes until it reaches the pressure.
As I’ve mentioned the “weakness” of moka pot is the time it takes from room temperature to boiling point/pressure. The more time it spends the more time the coffee is heated, which causes not-delicious bitterness.
That’s why moka pot users put hot water instead of room temperature water, to shorten the time coffee powder spend on fire. Frankly, it is troublesome because I have to be careful to not burn myself.
If this item has the same problem I won’t buy it.
@@djentlover thank you for the suggestion. After watching the review I decided it’s not a good fit for me.
Unlike Moka pot it doesn’t need hot water, but like Moka pot you need to be careful to get it right. It’ll just end up collecting dust in my cupboard, like my moka pot. I’ll reconsider if they make it more user friendly.

no need to dial just add 18 g coffee, water to the mark, high heat... she will control temp and pressure by design... after 3 minutes the brew starts, just dont let it go past 45 sec brewing because it overextracts and burns the gaskets and presure valve... Literally the best espresso coffee you will ever have

Varia vs3 and 9barista are my home setup I love it. Perfect for beginners because you can really get to know grind settings and dose. I would however change the Varia for a kinu m47 if I bought it again. You get a lot more for the same money

Let’s be honest there is a fine line between coffee people as a hobby and the pretentious people.
Overpriced AF unfortunately
I own 9barista espresso machine and I don't think there is an alternative to it at present! This machine makes real espresso (like from a nice home barista espresso machine). It is super portable and all you need (except it) is a good manual grinder (I use 1zpresso K-Max) + some stove (gas stoves are the most versatile). With this simple setup you can make excellent espresso anyware, every time - once set up, there is no guess work with 9barista, it is SUPER consistent in the results. Every other portable espresso maker I know of is NOT consistent at all and the quality depends highly on your skill, especially regarding the temperature, because you basically can't control it precisely (9barista does that for you pretty well). Cleanint it is super simple and can be done immediatelly after brewing. Preparing single shot takes me about 7-8 minutes (including grind and preparation), so more than 2 shots in a row is practically a stretch. That is why I cosider it a personal espresso maker. It is not great for more more than 2 people (preferably one!) at the same time.
It is very elegant but extremely expensive. It is a modification of the Italian press. It's not worth even half of what it costs.
