How good is the implementation of touch controllers for quest 3? I prefer to play using virtual controls rather than keyboard or hotas controls, but FS2020 was horribly implemented.
I'm not exactly sure, but I did receive a message yesterday while flying in VR, saying something to the effect of "VR controllers can not be used to control instruments or yoke".
Great question! I'm not sure. It might have something to do with Virtual Desktop Snapdragon or Synchronous Spacewarp? I'm still trying to figure out a lot. I'll be posting another video most likely tomorrow, where I was not in VR but on a different computer with an older graphics card RTX 2070 and we'll see how that performs.
@@flightsimdronenexus Ah awesome, I'll look for that video. I currently use an HP reverb G2 and preordered a Pimax Crystal Super. I've just been seeing everyone's experiences with VR in MSFS 2024 to get an idea of some possible solutions to their problems if I come across them as well.
It's probably asynchronous spacewarp helping keep up the illusion of a higher framerate. I've got a 4070 Ti and a Quest 3, and the performance of MSFS 2024 has been a bit average and a bit buggy so far. It's a little disappointing rn. Hoping it gets fixed up in the next month or so.
Is the game smoother in the vr headset than on yt? It looks somewhat choppy watching the video, i just assumed its because of YT not something you're actually experiencing in real time.
Yes, it's getting smoother as I'm figuring out some settings. You should watch my latest video in Ultra mode: th-cam.com/video/QmAx0aAnGZw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=K0MkiVKEKx7BhTYT
Nice video! Is the resolution shown like it will be in the Quest 3? I still use my good "old" Reverb G2 in FS2024 which is actually doing it's job pretty good. But the image is not as crisp as what you are showing here. My setup is 12th gen i7, RTX2080ti, 32GB Will the performance of a Quest 3 be similar to what I'm used to in the Reverb?
What you saw in this video, is using a Quest 3. My computer setup in this video is an i9 13900H with 64GB RAM 14 cores, RTX 4080 with 32GB RAM, 1G internet. I have another computer that is similar to yours. It's an i7 10900, 128GB RAM & an RTX 2070 SUPER. I plan on posting a video I did with that setup today, although I can't remember if it was in 2D or 3D.
How clear are the graphics to the video honestly? I have a pico 4 and it’s the same res but honestly I’m not impressed with the visuals. Then again I’m used to my varjo aero
In this video, I was getting very clear graphics, although this morning I did a quick flight and it was bad. There was an update yesterday by Microsoft, so not sure if they did something to lower the quality. I'll have to check again later.
This is on a 4080 on a laptop??? Holy sweet f@#$!!!! I'm on a 13900k with 64 gigs of ram and not getting anything close to that on ultra with my Q3....
I'm using the Meta Quest 3 and no, I'm not using the toolkit. I tried it once on MSFS2020 but didn't like it...most likely, because I didn't know how to use it and textures were becoming unnaturally sharp.
Something weird is goiing on with Phoenix I noticed. With photogrammetry turned on I can see the photoreal textures on the ground but the buildings are the autogen kind and not the ones from photogrammetry. If you fire up FS2020 you'll see the difference.
I had 2 nice days in VR with TAA on rtx4070 super, now I have huge stutters and game is not playable. There are many more with the same problem. Only DLSS is a solution which blurs garmin and cockpit and make it not usable.
@salazarbernardo I'm not sure if it will help, but make sure you update DLSS and see if that helps at all. I made a video about it here: th-cam.com/video/4S0vC8B5plY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cWfIbPVX6bSZbhxW
I had the same great experience yesterday but today the simulator was stuttering and finally crashed. I suspect quality has something to do with server load?
Yeah, I noticed the same today. The quality was similar to 2020. yesterday there was an update from Microsoft. I wonder if that had something to do with it. Hopefully, they didn't lower the quality.
I stopped using SteamVR for the same issue you're experiencing. I purchased the Virtual Desktop app and it works great. Watch my video that I posted a few days ago here: th-cam.com/video/_mPORafdYs4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8HIm6ZzdfkwAMLjc Hope it helps!
system specs please? I am looking hard at the quest 3 VR headset, but I am really hoping my lenovo legion 5 slim laptop with rtx 4060 laptop gpu, ryzen 7 (7840) cpu, and 2 TB SSD gen 4 drive can handle msfs 2024 without going absolute minimum on the settings...
I have the Meta Quest 3, Intel i9 13900H 64GB RAM, RTX 4080 w 32GB RAM. 1 TB Hard Drive, 1G internet speed. I would say that based off of the information you've given me. You should be fine because I have used an older i7 10900 with an RTX 2070 and it still worked great.
@ it’s a core issue, if we have over 32 cores it won’t load, there is a thread on steam about ctd at 90%. Start menu, type msconfig find the setting for max number of cores.
A cautionary tale for current and prospective Meta Quest VR headset owners: I'm now on day 46 of Meta holding my Quest headsets hostage. I've been using Oculus/Quest devices from the day they started making them (10 years ago?), and I have not been required to give my date of birth to Meta in all this time. But they recently demanded my DOB under threat of disabling my Quests, and they made good on that threat 46 days ago. *Meta can metaphorically brick your headsets, any time they want, and for any reason they want, and there's NOTHING you can do about it.* Conclusion: Think carefully before you BUY anything from Meta; The thing you BUY will not be yours.
Thanks for all the 2024 content. U are doing the Lord’s work!
Love the video! As an Arizona native I can’t wait to get the game and start flying our beautiful state
It looks amazing!
Thanks for leading the way bro! Got 64FPS on Quest 2. The rush feels like riding the bicycle for the first time without training wheels👍
Haha, I know that feeling... Glad I could help!
I really dont know how you can play more than 1 minute with 126 latency and basically 0 fps. Id have ptsd after that session.
I don't know where you saw 0 fps.

I dont know if its the TH-cam compression but as you pan your head around it looks smooth but as the ground moves, it looks like a lower FPS.

Thanks all for freeing up the servers! Really loving it now

Yeah, I've always had FPS issues with TAA. I use DLSS as well.
@flightsimdronenexus now I have stutters all the time even with DLSS, back to msfs2020.

DLSS in VR still not very nice. TAA is much better
Can you tell me why? I sincerely don't know. Anytime I've used TAA, FPS took a major hit.
@@flightsimdronenexus That's why DLSS is better for VR, much better performance than TAA
I can't make VR work. What do you use to connect to steamVR? I get a black screen on my headset whenever I toggle VR mode.😒
