I am testing public beta 1 of fs 2024 and they solved that aspect

It's a bug, they know it's a bug and have fixed it for the next update.

That why I’m sticking with 2020

This has been fixed in SimUpdate 1 - would recommend you do this comparison again while using the SimUpdate 1 public beta currently available - a dramatic difference.

Not getting any windshield rain at all, even with the beta. It is one of the bugs listed on the development update and is under investigation as it doesn't seem to be a problem for everyone. The rain splashes on the ground might have looked cool 25 years ago but they look so out of place. I was looking at a walkround view and watching the raindrops on the aircraft. They're just water droplets that flash on and off at different rates in the same place.

msfs 2024 can clean the shoes of MSFS 2020. Unfortunately, there are some who like their candy wrapper and inside is spoiled candy!!! It will be a long time before 2024 can compete with MSFS 2020!!! BAD MSFS 2024!!!! BAD!!

I've just gone back to 2020 as the graphics are just better..

MSFS 2020 is comparable to a stunning looking woman on Instagram. After waking up you'll finally found out she's all fake and rotten from the inside. MSFS 2024 is just her twin sister with some cosmetic updates..

i don't have MSFS2024 because i held off from buying it until i seen a positive step forward. i am glad i kept 2020. so many people have found that 2024 is so unfinished and full of bugs. the thing i have seen that looks better in 2024 is the natural lighting / shading in the daylight. but apart from that 2020 seems much more stable and better weather, especially the rain.

There is something about 2024. I just don't like it. Feels so plastic and cartoonish. 2020 & Xplane 12 are way ahead.

As bad as the rain is, the air needs to move. That's a critical issue in all of the sims.

Flight Unlimited had amazing rain for the day. Dovetail flight simulator has far superior rain than MSFS 2020, and 2024 is an absolute joke. It's so bad I'm assuming it's just bugged and they'll fix it and it will be fine again. Trouble is, its never been fine. The rain in 2020 actually peaked when they released the trailer. To say I'm annoyed off would be a massive understatement.

I -dont- I know that Asobo should have spend more time on this. They say they didn't rush the game but I definitely think they did

I recently went back to 2020 after weeks of giving 2024 a very fair 'go'. The rain was one of the most obvious things that was rubbish in 2024...but not by any means the only thing. There is so much wrong with 2024 it is scandalous really.

It looks the same .... to me.

I think there will be a lot of improvements to the rain when more developers use the 2024 tools to enhance their products. Hopefully, Asobo will rectify any of the "animated" look.

you have a low in pc. i get 117 fps in 2024 more than i get in 2020.

The way I see it, people are more than welcome to put out their own product, especially if they can do it better. Waiting with baited breath.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled msfs2024 four times to get updates but still worthless. Now there is updates for 2020 and bing maps added looks great❤

Can't deny that 2020's rain definitely looks more realistic. With that said, I'm pretty sure that the rain model in 2024 will be updated at some point. I, for one, don't understand why they didn't make the rain as realistic or even better than the 2020 version...

Hmm. The rain on mine looks the same if not better on 2024. Not sure what's going on there with yours. Mine looks nothing like that.

I was flying around yesterday, showing my mum FS2024 in a helicopter around in the UK around Bollington and Macclesfield following the road to Buxton Derbyshire over the Cat and Fiddle Pub The places are not mapped very well not sure just not sure...

It is a hype scam. Over my town, it is still the same wrong looking houses that in fs 2020. No differrence. And the Churge is still turned 180 degre the wrong way. And the belltower is on the side if the short end. It looks like school children have made the houses in 2020. They have just copied the maps over to fs 2024. I love flying low and slow. But this simulator is probably only made for commersial pilots. And whats the use of photogrammetry, when I can't download it for my own town. And about rolling cache. I don't se it doing anything. I have testded upp to 100 GB, no difference. The only time it looks good, is when i fly over areas that I don't rekognise, unless I look it up on Google Earth Pro. Shame on Microsoft, and Asobo. Luring innocent people of money.

Agree 100% that rain in 2020 is very good and in 2024 its hard to believe it's so bad! They've got to address it since the clouds in 2024 are much better that 2020

It's a bug, they will fix it.

I don't have FS2024 yet. From all the comparison videos I've seen here on TH-cam I'm not so sure that its much of an upgrade at all. I'll take a look at it again around mid November, and if ALL the bugs are gone by then I may consider buying it. Graphics alone is not a good enough reason to upgrade. If the avionics are not accurate in the planes I ain't buying it. If the UI is a buggy mess I ain't buying it. If the stutters and blurriness still happens occasionally I ain't buying it. FS2020 is still a good sim and its stable.

I'm sticking with 2020. 2024 is so cheesy. I got really tired of watching the weirdo in the pink suit every time it loads. They still haven't got Tobii Eye tracker to work. No marketplace etc and to me it just looks so gamey, arcade like.

So FS2024 is problematic and probably half of the flight sim community know this. Would seem, the only way to push this puppy off the shelf now is to fuk up FS2020

Thanks goodness I have you guys as beta testers for the next year - I'll make my mind up at that point.

At least you got bad looking rain effects. I try setting weather to rain every day, the ground becomes wet and you can hear rain but still haven't seen any windshield effects yet!🤬

If you're on an xbox, don't bother with fs2024. It will complete infuriate you and make you want destroy Microsoft and asobo studios. It is absolute garbage. It doesn't work. As a sim it is useless. As a game it is broken on many levels.

I don't think comparing FPS will help. Quality, colors and else is perception/subjective, unless you can go deeper with measurements. In 2024 you have haze and very similar to real life, at 1500 ft agl, you hardly can identify a runaway from 5 NM but, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Aircraft behavior has improved in 2024, even if FPS or colors are off, it's a flight simulator and now it's giving XP12 a run for the money. Stuttering reduction, requires tweaking to adjust to each system, it's challenging as the game has been focused on XBOX performance.

I agree 100%, all I can assume is it's not implemented properly in 2024 yet, like many other features. What we wee at the moment is just a rushed placeholder.

I bought 2024 and found it would only let me run in medium settings because of ‘insufficient bandwith' ie my internet connection was too slow. I get about 30mbs and I can run 2020 on ultra settings except over big cities when I have to drop it to high-end. So for me 2024 looked worse than 2020 mainly due to limited internet speed which I can do nothing about atm. Steam gave me a refund and I will be happy with 2020 until MS change 2024 to allow download and local storage of at least some of the assets. They may never do this of course so I can only hope one day we get faster internet available!

I am still happy with 2020. It seems that people accept paying for faulty goods as the norm nowadays. For the huge price tag, we should expect a better product.

I have it,Microsoft had my money a week before release which I thought was strange,but having seen it perform I realise why they took my cash in advance!!It should not have been released in that condition,full of bugs and with Tobii head tracking not working and distorted sound to name a small fraction of faults.I still fly 2020 and only poke 2024 with a stick now and then.2024 is in its current state, is a real car wreck...................................................

In VR fs24 is not very good, I find it 'blurry' compared to fs20. I run a 13900k and a 4090 with 64GB. I only have a 80mbps internet connection so maybe that plays a part. In flatscreen though fs24 does look nicer and is an improvement. However as I am not a real pilot I cannot comment on the flight models and have to trust that they are accurate.

How did you get the FPS etc. display as good as that? The best I have seen.

Try to use best settings to best clarity in 737. zhow to reduce a latency?
