The reason why some 2024 graphics looks rather uncanny is because the assets weren't updated properly -- e.g. the terrain was from the new sorce, but the special objects (e.g. pyramids or handcrafted rocks, trees etc.) were not aligned with it. I guess gotta wait for a few years until MSFS 2024 is fully updated

2020s update is whats made it graphically worse! And 4 years of update has turned rain into just haze and thin transparent clouds. And they still say they are working on a fix LOL.
It would be safe to assume though that whatever they learned and/or improved in the 2020 version would already be applied to the 2024 version. Though there are certain aspects of 2024 where it seems that's not the case from what i hear.
Microsoft probably needs money bro, their financial situation must be pretty bad. They're releasing a new game so we can donate. ( Microsoft is a company that even charges for graphical updates. for msfs 2020 😅
There is no extreme step forward here. Certainly, we could make a case for the fact that FS2024 is much better in some regards. Foliage and water are a big step forward. Lighting is better. But overall appearance of buildings on the ground really didn't really step forward. Things like a new career mode and being able to get out of the plane are amazing new features. But the bottom line is that this feels 100% like an update to FS2020, not a new game by any stretch of the imagination. In the past, going from one version of Flight Sim to the next was like night and day. That is certainly not the case here. But that doesn't make it any less an incredible product which offers a lot of new features over its predecessor.
Honestly you could say that regarding a lot of newer games. The fact that it is just basically a update. Regarding the appearance of the building i think that for some countrys that didn't get a specific world update, the fs2024 world streaming improves things quite significantantly. Also i appreciate the fact that FS2024 doesn't take up about 300gb.
@@imembridibuddha You make a good point, in that probably the biggest change to the design of the game is under the hood. One thing I've appreciated is that a lot of the text in the cockpit has been made more bold. It's actually less realistic in some cases, but makes it easier to read. I also hugely appreciate the ground handling updates that flexible planes have brought. Otherwise the only major step forward is the vegetation/trees. Currently aircraft lights are totally broken. Lights will illuminate things fine, but things like strobes and nav lights become invisible on aircraft from more than 30 or 40 feet away. I've also notice that the lights are illuminating surfaces from behind a barrier. For example, the nav lights are visible THROUGH the wings currently. I've also noticed that in a lot of cities there are major things broken which weren't before such as random trees growing through buildings and things like that, though I don't care too much about that. Tons of things in the game are broken which should have been completely obvious during even the most basic quality pass they could have done. Apart from the lighting issues I've already mentioned, basic things like weight and balance, selecting a livery, spawning in random wrong locations for missions, etc, all broken and often game breaking. Seems super strange to rush a game to market without any QC given that nobody was begging for it.

buenos dias unless you watch your video on a screen identical to yours and under the same conditions (could you please specify what type of screen you are using in terms of name, resolution and diagonal size), I have the impression that the differences essential mainly relate to the ground textures, which are richer in details (grass, flowers) and above all much more realistic, with flora in line with the place (bush in Africa, pines in the mountains, etc.). Concerning the animations of the F14, or the lod of the tires, no or little difference. As for the menu, I'm not convinced I'll see a big difference. Concerning aircraft lights (strobe), they are more discreet and realistic. Concerning the level of detail in the cockpit, very little difference except the slightly brighter displays. Concerning the level of detail in the cities, in any case looking at the "Sacré Coeur" in Paris, the city of my childhood, yes the architecture of the buildings is indisputably also more faithful.Concerning the level of detail of the aquatic scenes, the breath and spray effects are also much more realistic. For me, who is going to take the step towards msfs 2024 without having gone through the 2020 version, I do not ask myself any questions...except to know the conditions in which your video was so well recorded, and in particular no stuttering. This is why I am asking you for the characteristics of your screen and your graphics card (nvidia or freesync). There you have it, I have given you my assessment, that of a person having the choice between two simulators that he does not know. And congratulations for your work!
From what I see and can understand: MSFS 2024 looks slightly different to 2020. In some aspects it does look better (shadow clarity, vegetation, sea surface water effects from interaction with aircraft/helicopter, objects LOD) in others it looks worse (color blending of various environment objects, general lighting and reflections, clouds and water droplets). It definitely does not justify the title of a new version imho - more like MSFS2020v1.5/1.8 maybe.
Lightning in custom models needs to be revisited in future iterations (maybe RT global illumination) bc at 12:50 the new Giza Pyramids look like they're made out of pure gold and the old ones look much better lightning wise.
Thanks for the video. Can someone explain to me why a new flight simulator is being released after just 4 years? I thought Msfs 2020 should be the basic platform for at least the next 10 years and only ever be improved with new content and updates.
Considering how much you have to spend to buy a computer where you can fully enjoy this simulator, at that price you could get the license for the real one.
Great video. I can understand switching to the new version if you enjoy GA aircraft, but if you're into airliners, I don't see the point... yet. (I can't stand the NPCs, lol)

In some places I have a Forza Horizon feeling when i am in free camera mode. 2024 looks definetly better and more detailed. I am a fan of this simulator.

The problem is it is such a hit to your PC. I think it’s ridiculous you need a 4090 to really play this with high settings. And in VR, my 3080 can’t hack it.
But it's a "flight" simulator, not a car simulator. I don't really need ultra-detailed vegetation. I really like the night lighting though. Anyway, I tried it for a day and then asked for a refund. For now, I prefer the 2020 version.
I can see the visual improvements. the title being online only means this is a game I'll never play or purchase. I honestly don't understand why we can't have an have offline mode.
I was quite disappointed when hopping in to the Cessna in VR and trying out Egypt - it looks way worse in 2024.
4:13 no more 2d textures for motion blur propellers... they look fantastic now!!!
I find the cloud details in MFS 2020 more realistic than in 2024
Can you please do the comparison for the xboxes?
On XSX looks same! Awesome job!
for visual and graphics 2020 looks way better except water. i know i sound biased but that's what i saw.
Have you ever stepped outside?
@@Swole_Gecko Yes, I went outside and everything looks like it's made of clay like in '24.
6:31 The logging was brutal in 2024
It would be nice to include real world footage for locations comparison.
Lightning in custom models needs to be revisited in future iterations (maybe RT global illumination) bc at 12:50 the new Giza Pyramids look like they're made out of pure gold and the old ones look much better lightning wise.
Why does the 2024 version look so much more blurry?
why isn't anti-aliasing enabled in the new game???
Lighting and shadows arw better (RT shadows and RTAO?). Foliage details are also better. But on other hand also many things and places now look worse.
I have a problem I have an RX 580 card and I can't play the game, what is the solution?
Upgrade 💀
your gpu is too old
@@elker7862 GTX 1050Ti was able to run the game at least, but the RX 580 game does not open in the first place

Can i fly my 2020 huey addon in 2024 ?
For just $80 you get some just barely noticeable graphical improvements... Wow
Do a comparison of medium settings. It won't be that great of a difference anymore. Great video nevertheless
No. Geometry is much higher at 24.
Best MFS Comparison made ever.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video. I can understand switching to the new version if you enjoy GA aircraft, but if you're into airliners, I don't see the point... yet.
(I can't stand the NPCs, lol)
The vegetation in general has improved, but in some places the old one is better lol in the end some things got worse
Downloaded from gamepass, was thinking the ground level would look amazing based on the screenshots and trailers they use but its mainly only on select, went near my house and it looks like a mansion this time around 😂
You just gave me some inspiration
On the scenery side, FS2024 is more like FS2020 on heavy mod.
In some places I have a Forza Horizon feeling when i am in free camera mode. 2024 looks definetly better and more detailed. I am a fan of this simulator.
Is it include in gamepass?
The problem is it is such a hit to your PC. I think it’s ridiculous you need a 4090 to really play this with high settings. And in VR, my 3080 can’t hack it.
What do you need to run this game at this quality?
Rtx 5090 + core i11
But it's a "flight" simulator, not a car simulator. I don't really need ultra-detailed vegetation.
I really like the night lighting though. Anyway, I tried it for a day and then asked for a refund. For now, I prefer the 2020 version.
Is the sea real or not when diving in it? If the game is realistic, they should add a real sea, such as gta5
Am I the only one who thinks 2020's clouds are far better in most scenes?
I can see the visual improvements. the title being online only means this is a game I'll never play or purchase. I honestly don't understand why we can't have an have offline mode.
Because there are no 2,5PB SSDs? Streaming is the only logical reason for them.
Flight simulator 2020 overal looks better than 2024 😂
I don't see much differences 😅
This could have, and should have been a patch for 2020.
No. The entire base sim is new.
@@cjmillsnunyes
They need to make more 🤑🤑. 2028 in 4 years 😂
@@cjmillsnun hahaha
epic update. It's deserve to buy a pro flight controller play this
Honestly, apart from vegetation, the differences are minor.
I was quite disappointed when hopping in to the Cessna in VR and trying out Egypt - it looks way worse in 2024. For the rest - some forests looks better and water too, but the difference is not enough to justify buying a new game. The physics looks quite janky and sometimes the planes behave erratic
Mfs 2024 Xbox ss vs Xbox sx vs pc?
Skepta would kill this beat
Can you compare Genshin Impact XBOX Series X/S vs PS5/PS5 Pro?
Best looking game ever.
this could be a dlc or a patch not a new game. honestly clouds seems kinda worse. only relevant things added are career and missions
