    I bought one for my own truck, but I just used it for the first time tonight helping someone stranded.
    We tried jumper cables first, but my 4 cyl car was too wimpy for their V8.
    So, I hooked up the Hulkman and it started their V8 immediately!
    Now I know it will work on my own truck V8!

    Just got one of these, and it's a well built brute of a jump starter. I'm impressed. A whole lot better, easier to use, and more powerful than the lithium jump starter pack that served me well for several years. Nice unit, good review! Thanks!

    I bought one in January of 2023 and now 15 months later it cannot be charged to 100% but stops at 84%. Going back to carrying jumper cables that I know will work 100% of the time.

    Jump starter is a must in anyone's vehicle, I bought a jump starter back in 2018 from Amazon with the price of 44 Dollar (1200A up to 6.5L Gas, 5.0L Diesel) and its still working, helped a lot of random people getting their car start.
    Thank for the review Jordan product looks amazing 👍👍

      @@leweezo33 I bought an old jump starter from a different company that doesn't exist anymore and i keep the jump starter in my car trunk all the time even in summer which reaches a degree of 35 Celsius and i had no problems with it

      Their separate carry case for the unit is a bit expensive, but it is a VERY nice case that should really protect the unit and accessories.

    An excellent review of the Hulkman. I'm glad you mentioned pushing the two buttons, which another reviewer failed to mention. I have a classic 1951 Mercury with a huge 12v battery. The Hulkman starts the 'beast' up immediately. A lot bigger than other lithium quick charger, but well worth it. Thank you!

    Thanks for the video, Jordan. I purchased this power starter as a Christmas gift for my son and it is a hefty little power booster. Since it was a gift for my son, I personally haven't tested it prior to giving it to my son. I like the demonstrations I've seen on this power booster jump starter and will get one for myself. I've needed one for years. I can't remember how many times I've found myself needing a jump start on my trucks and tractor. This should do the trick and give me that extra little step to self-starting reliance. Appreciate the video. Full-watch. Have a fine week. 👍🏽🙂

    Hulkman kickstarter started selling these before even shippiing to their backers. A year long delay for most of us left us wondering how the company is a scam. Glad to see them shipping to online reviewers to hype everything up.

    • @subradiant_music
      @subradiant_music 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That seems strange. Maybe they shipped a certain amount to the first backers and than everyone else after? Usually companies starting out with low funds try to take the fastest way possible to make money for the good of the company but that seems unfortunate
      At least you got your unit though

  • @abevand

    It seems like a good Jump starter. It's to bad you couldn't test it in cold weather. Winter weather here is often below -20 =C in January. Many jumpstarter work fine in warm weather but fail to work in the cold regardless of what temperature range is indicated on the packaging

    • @joebuck4496

      I have one of these and it charges fairly quickly. From 80% to full was about 20 min or so (I haven't discharged it further than that). I left it sit for 6 weeks and when I checked it today it was at 78% so it does loose power over time and you would need to monitor it on occasion. What I've been disappointed with is when using the cigarette lighter adapter to charge something from it, it keeps turning itself off. I'm guessing the AA battery charger device I hooked up to it may not draw enough power and so the Hulkman turns itself off perhaps sensing there is no draw (just speculating here). I've contacted the company and their response was quick but the person responding to me struggled with English and so I couldn't make sense of the reply - yes, it was that difficult. But I did understand the end of it where they said the problem was with my device and not their product. Hmmm...I've not had issues before with that AA battery charger so not sure I agree with their assessment. Of course these issues don't reflect on it's ability to jump start a vehicle so may not be important to anyone else. I go camping a lot and was hoping to have it as a backup for recharging small devices and I'm not sure it can do that very well if it shuts off prematurely.

  • @nickyoung6978

    Can this be used along with a OBD2 memory saver? This is a way of retaining all of the ECU settings, radio stations, etc, when changing the car battery. I requires an additional cable that plugs into the cars OBD2 port and uses the Hulkman 12 volt (DC) outlet connector. Many battery jumpers support this.

    Hi, Very nice video!
    I have 2019 honda crv and honda asks to connect black clamp of a jumper to a metal rod on dead car. unfortunately that metal rod is far from the battery so I cannot connect red clamp to red connector on a battery and black clamp to a metal rod. Do you know if I connect black clamp from this jumper to a black connector on dead battery, it will cause fire or break anything?
    Appreciate if you can provide some guidance/suggestions.

    Two questions: (1) Does it have reverse polarity spark protection? From the way you kept the two clamps apart, looks like it does not have it.

    Here is a tip. Just leave the clamps connected all the time under the hood. If you lose power you just pop open the hood and attach the already attached clamps to the jump pack and boom you're done. No need to put on clamps and take off clamps. Just connect and disconnect to power pack. Also you will never have to worry about losing the clamps not being able to find the clamps when you need it since it will already by clamp to the battery posts.

    • @danielrudilille
      @danielrudilille 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And also have the batterypack connected all time, great!

    • @subradiant_music

      In theory not a bad idea but you can cause excess corrosion that way due to the current causing debris from the vibration. Probably wouldn't be bad for the winter but I wouldn't leave them on all year long. Chance of them falling off and arching something too

      Regular price is $99 for the regular 85 model. Wen it goes on sale it can get as low as $79. Currently it is $85. The one he is reviewing in this video is the special version meant for subzero weather hence the S for subzero after the 85. This is the 85s model that has a built in heater function that helps up the jump pack in super cold weather so you can safely and quickly use it in weather up to 40 degrees below zero. This unit regularly goes for $130 with no case. There is a sale going on how if you look for the special bundle that is $130 but includes a free case that is value at $34 which is nice and definitely the one to get versus the one at the same price without any case. The regular 85 model doesn't have this feature and won't work in those extreme weather and would need for you to manually warm the battery up before it will work in those extreme weather. For most of us not living in very cold weather it's not going to be a worry and will work right away.
