Headphones cleaning

  • Every month I clean my studio monitor AKG (k240 mk2) headphones. I remove the dust, clean them with a microfibre cloth and treat the "leather" (plastic?) of the pads to make it soft. I've had them for more than three years and use them every day, they keep well and are excellent headphones.
I have several headphones and like to keep them clean since I use them a lot. In particular, these akg K240 mk2 are excellent in terms of the sound they offer and the robustness they have (and the low price).
A note: initially I found them very dry in low frequencies but, like wine, they seem to improve with time (3 and half years in this case).
Did I get used to them or did they become the way I like them? :-)

Hi! You will also find two more short videos (for now) on how to disassemble and reassemble the earpads of these headphones and the Sennheiser HD599. The links are: th-cam.com/users/shortsUSAbLn-YU-g for the AKG K240 MKII and th-cam.com/users/shortsC4lMPHFLdBY for the Sennheiser HD599.
