    Really enjoyed exploring this feature on the MG-300. While amp modeling has come a long way, there's nothing quite like a real amp and the Mode function makes it possible to enjoy the best of both worlds.

      I just runned in to something amazing. And sience we both pedal freaks I decided to bump that info in to you. I was watching a video where a guy used a hack for his Zoom Multi Stomp MS-70 CDR pedal. He now have all the effects from all Zoom pedals in this one single pedal. Souds crazy? Someone made this program and uploaded all the effects from all zoom pedals in to one effect manager. The pedal is fairly cheap, but the ammounf of effects you get after the hack is CRAAAZZZYYYY!!!!! It dont have to be MS-70 CDR. It works with many ZOOM pedals. Here is what I found: www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/the-zoom-hack-cdr-effects-and-others-on-g1on-g1xon.2081936/
      Dont thank me.. Thank the guys who hacked the pedal!

    I’ve been experimenting using the mg 300 as a Tonex, switched off all the effects. Dial in a clean amp, a breakup amp and a crunch. And a lead amp. Then run noise gate, tube screamer, to the input and delay, choruse, reverb. Output. Then into my aux on my spark 40, so the tone is not colored. Sounds really good. I’m going to try this at church next practice minus the spark and go straight to the board.

    Can I use the amps in the MG-300 running it into my amp to use the modelling aspect? People keep saying you have to turn off the cab sims but then doesnt this just become a 150 dollar multi effects pedal? Thanx,

    • @ThePedalGuy
      @ThePedalGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi. Well, yes and no. The MG300 can go to the front of your amp, which sounds best when the cab sim is turned off. But there's no 'rule' that you have to do that. It's entirely up to you.
      The other way you can use the MG-300 with your amp is via the FX return on the back of your amp, in which case you can use the Cab sim or not. Again it's up to you.
      I'm hoping that with the new MG-30 I'll be able to send a signal out to my amp via the Send/Return a la HeadRush but I haven't had a chance to check that yet.

    So its confirmed, plugging the Nux MG 300 into the "Return" bypasses the 3 12AX7 PreAmp tubes on my DSL20HR because you will not get sound if your guitar is plugged into anything other than the NUX MG 300. To me bypassing 3 of the 5 tubes on my amp is kinda silly. In my case thats a bummer because I wanted it as a pedal board in a nice neat portable package. NEVERTHELESS the thing sounds amazing with headphones and will be perfect for quiet practice and give my neighbors a break.

    • @ThePedalGuy
      @ThePedalGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jordan. Thanks for the feedback. That's pretty much what I said would happen if you were to use the Return on your amp some time back. It bypasses the preamp of the physical amp, which is why the MG-300 can be used in the front of the amp as well. I showed this both ways in the video. Have you tried that?

      @@jordanrodriguez3651the good thing with plugging into the fx return is that it will give you consistent tones especially if you use different amps everytime. When i first started playing live, i will use whatever amp is in the venue. I always plug in front of the preamp and it's a hit or miss. Some bands who i played with will bring their own amps. I just want a minimalistic setup and don't want to bring lots of gears on the venue if i can.
      When i learned about the fx return, i always plug there and it was a game changer and getting good consistent tones with amp/cab sim enabled going through fx return .

    Hi Pedal Guy, sorry for my english. I'm a little confused at this point here. So, when you use an combo-front amp (means physically connected to the nux-mg300 main output) and using the combo-front mode. That's mean preamp and/or cabinet simulation will be automatically
    deactivated?, or I has to do it manually on the effect block chain? because I've tried, and of course the sound is different depending of what configuration I use, but I don't know what will be the proper one. Greetings.

      Connect the output to the return of the amp effects loop and the input of the GM 300m to the send of the amp and your guitar to the front of the amp.. . the mode is only emulation it does not changes the re real amp sound, on each preset remove the amp setting on the MG 300 and use the effects only,, get the sound from you amp , but you may not have all the crunch setting of certain types of amps because your amp may not hadel it, so set your amp as flat is possible and use the emulation.

      @@sboistan I’ve been doing some research and I’ve found that the best thing to use is an FRFR speaker/PA when using a multi effects pedal. The difference between any guitar amp (such as the 8BT) and an FRFR, is that an FRFR is producing the exact sound that is being put into it. With a multi effects pedal or anything that models a guitar amp, this is the best option because you’re hearing exactly what that modeled amp and cab is intended to sound like. A guitar amp seeks to “amplify” or modify the signal is a way that a guitar amp intends to do to with guitar. (Best way I can explain it? Almost like going through a “filter.”) I went ahead and bought the Nux mg300 along with a Headrush FRFR-108 I found on reverb for $135. It is not wireless but it does have a ground button in case where ever you’re playing has a grounding issue that creates static. (You could also buy a portable AC power bank and strap it to the back. If you really want wireless). There is also a Bluetooth monitor made specifically for modeling equipment called the “IK iLoud.” Good thing have been said about that as well. I hope this helps! And I hope it sounds better than the Spark, Have to sell it in order to afford this shit lol.
