  • Welcome to my review on the NUX MG-300, the modeler that YOU wanted to see on the channel! You guys are always giving me awesome suggestions, and it makes me happy when I can actually get a hold of the gear you want to see to review it. I will 110% be shooting this out with some of the budget modelers you've seen on my channel in the near future, but for now, I wanted to do a deep dive into and talk about the NUX MG-300
    DISCLAIMER - I had to insert an update portion in the middle of the video, because I felt it was important to know that the update solves some issues you may have out of the box. They also updated the manual, so you will want to grab a digital copy of that while you're there!

    this unit has has a more powerful processor than the other budget modelers of today. conversion rate of 32/48 as opposed to 24/44.1... plus the ability to add your own IRs make this unit the best value out there by far.

    • @TaylorDanley

      Yes that's true, but you also have to consider the fx and amp selection is limited which may be a bummer for some people

      @@TaylorDanley It'd do for a practice/jam tool or a grab 'n go DI rig.
      I prefer individual stompboxes into my preamp & IR loader (or the GFI CabZeus I've recently acquired) for going direct, but sometimes that's a hassle.
      Ofc ideally I prefer real amps and real pedals..but we live in horrible times where that is not always possible.
      These units always seem to have glitches with the expression pedal! My buddy's old Boss ME-25 is a case in point. We can't get it into pitch shifting mode no matter what we do.

    Been plowing through budget multi-effects pedals for a couple of months and among the pedals that get the most love is the MG-300. From what I have gathered, the Valeton GP-100, because it has a stomp mode and a preset mode, is the only pedal that has the capability to toggle effects on and off in a preset on the fly. Am I correct that the MG-300 does not have this feature?

    • @zampination
      @zampination 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use some effects on the expression pedal by pressing it once on the top of it. It will turn on or off the effect of delay for example or the reverb but I'm not sure that it can for example engage a boost pedal with that function. You could assign the expression pedal for the reverb and when hitting it once on the top it can become a delay. But don't take my word for it. My unit arrives tomorrow

    Hi! I bought my device 2 days ago. Does anyone else has a problem with using the device with headphones? It seems like the default sound is too quiet compared to the effects' additional sounds. Pretty much its unplayable for me through my headphones (ath m50x). Even some of the default patches do not work correctly. It sounds great with an amp though. Did anyone else have this issue?

I ALWAYS check if there are BIOS/Firmware/Software/Driver/PDF-Manual updates for any new hardware I get on the manufacturer's website... maybe because I'm used to building PC's and doing PC tech support, both for myself as a self-supporting end-user and for others, so this is just my go too, literally both when I get new hardware, and right before "turning it off and back on again" as a fail safe before going through with such updates, to see if they're even necessary when troubleshooting...
