“NBC Sports and the United States Golf Association present a USGA national championship. Today, it’s the final round of the 100th US Open”. And what an historic Open it was. To this day, the largest margin of victory in major championship history and the 2nd largest margin in ANY PGA Tour event. By far the greatest performance in golf history.

It’s amazing that the best golfer in the entire world…during arguably his greatest rounds of golf ever…had a “Golf Is Hard” moment. This sport is something else.
Lots of talk in the broadcast of whether this might be Tom Watson's last US Open. He ended up playing in two more: 2003 and 2010 on special exemptions, the latter of course at Pebble once again. Although he came very close to qualifying for the 2010 tournament on his own, with his 2nd place finish at the Open in 2009.
I remember growing up going to my friends house to hangout and their dad would be watching golf and now I wish I was more interested in golf then. I love it so much now and I wish if I just put time to understand it I would of loved it, seeing this brings back those memories

No, he definitely will not destroy the PGA Tour Champions. The first event he is eligible for is in January 2026 and even with a cart he will not shoot low enough to win.
This video is from 2000, and the quality is pretty poor. You'd think USGA could, I don't know, drop a few bucks and enhance the quality of this. Same goes with the Masters Final Round vids - in a lot of them, the video quality is garbage.

No question 🎉
And he almost had to withdraw because his caddy didn't check how many balls they had in the bag 😂

Imagine being in the final group of the US Open and having zero chance of winning.
1:45:33 Tiger tees off.
Ty
Do you know what time of day this would have been, and what the time of day was at the exact moment he won the event?
This might be the best golfer ever playing one of his best rounds. Everything he does is with absolute percision. Pure art.
1:55:54 The greatest swing ever recorded.🔥😳
Old enough to remember....TGC and all other outlets didnt know what the hell to make of this kid being a Superman. Mount Nicklaus was in real trouble.
Thank you, USGA for this video…
Our pleasure! 👍
@@usga Can you bring all 3 rounds prior?
@@ゆみす魔王oh I’d love that
We need more videos like this.

One of the greatest performances in the history of golf.
THE greatest.
Roger calls are so good, there is a reason why they go to him to mix up all these others. One of the greatest sports commentators that I've heard.

Tiger Woods🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I miss this era of golf.
1:45:43 This is where Tiger Tees off
Greatest golfer ever hes like Jimmy Hendrix.richatd Pryor.Ali.Wilt Chamberlain.no peers
For one week, one golfer was better than everyone at everything.
I'd say it was more like 12 years or so.
Love the fact that Tiger could make a triple bogey and still end the day 10 shots clear.
2:40:44 Audio was a dud compared to the original. 2:40:19
Tom Watson always been my favorite golfer. He dominated the championship like Tiger did
Tom Watson only won the U.S Open once. The Open Championship he dominated winning 5 times
@@bretts4544 Watson finished 2nd at least twice so he was close mamy times!
😩🤡🫠
@@healthyone100 that's still not dominating the US Open. He won by two shots in 1982 and that is not comparable to winning by 15.
@4:46:31 "The only fear he has is marriage and kids" ...
2:40:19 HAMMERED
if Payne Stewart had lived would he had defended his title against tiger woods the way tiger played in this 2000 us open
Tiger is going to destroy the Senior Tour.

Tiger is done
Yes Johnny still shot 63 in 73.
wheres the rest of the events? why is it ONLY the final round?
woods is mk ultra victim
In a way, it’s not even entertaining…Tiger vs. a bunch of guys in khakis. The gap between him and everyone else is enormous
It was entertaining because anything with him in his prime was…period
Crazy, right?? He turned golf on its head very quickly, & idk if anything like it can even come close to happening again.
He's done

First world problems. Complaining about pulling up a video from 23 years ago on demand not having good enough quality
