any idea if the same process can be applied to a z790 board? Asrock also has 5 pin tb headers on its motherboard. Anyone use alpine ridge on their asrock boards?
Im not sure about the Asrock boards unfortunately. My suggestion would be to wait until amazon get some in stock and try it out. Thanks for watching and commenting!
You sir are a legend. This tutorial was the bomb. I love how detailed every step was. You guided me perfectly to hot swappably slick thunderbolt on a glorious custom hack-pro. thank you sir.
I dont think I had to do all that did not have to flash it but I am not really sure what version of the card I have. Maybe it depends on what version of os x you run. My hackintosh is a Gigabyte too but I am on the pad right now so I check later. I got a dock for harddrives hooked up to the card so I know it works. Anyway I am glad you got it working.
Under System Report/Thunderbolt it shows without flashing? I never heard that one. Now i know you can get the usb type c working without flashing. #interesting
I got a Titan Ridge 2.0 for less than $100 on eBay. I don't have an Apple computer. I just knew that these would be hard to get and grabbed it while I still could. Maybe it was one someone else had and could not figure out how to get it working. We all know that Thunderbolt is infamous for being tricky to get working. Amazingly mine worked with no hassle or hoops to jump through. Of course my motherboard is a Gigabyte board and I guess that staying within the brand increased my chances of it working a lot. I also didn't just buy a random Thunderbolt card. I could have tried Maple Ridge or Alpine Ridge but I don't know for sure if those will work since they were not listed for my motherboard. If the local Bestbuy had these in stock I could buy one to try and have 14 days to return it. I would only return it if it did not work of course.
The newest video on this channel is about the Titan Ridge. There def hard to get for the past few years so picking one up was a great idead. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@GeekShhh I am glad I got it when I did since everyone else sold theirs for 2 or 3 times as much. If it didn't work I probably could have sold it for those prices (slightly less to sell it quicker). But since it works I am going to keep it. The only reason I would expect it not to work would be a compatibility issue. This is not like USB that just works!
bro, how the heck do you have this little subscribers and views? Trust me, DO NOT GIVE UP! There is a massive community whiling to watch a video like this…. They just don’t know about you…. Keep going until the algorithm does it’s thing.
@@GeekShhh Keep it going bro. Interesting tech videos like that get a lot of attention. I would find some more unique hardware and older cheap hardware (including cheap server stuff) that can make so much great content.

I got mine pre-flashed from ebay. However I can't get it to connect my audio interface to recognize it.
Unfortunately i do not have an audio interface so i cant really speak on how the card interacts with it. Thanks for watching!

Does it works on Ventura?
Yes sir, thanks so much for watching!
@@GeekShhh appreciated boss :D
nice tutorial. thank you )
Thanks so much for watching!
Do I need to use jumper cable to power the card? I just want to use an audio interface
No, power is gained by just plugging it in, please refer to the summary section of video for my findings.
