Great review. We love BBQ and sweet tea. If we are in this area sometime, we will definitely get some BBQ. I told John I was surprised Jennifer didn't get any collard greens. Then, at the end, she said she didn't see them on the menu. Have a good week.😎😎

It's rare for Jennifer to not have collard greens, but it was missing from the big menu and was on a chalk board that we didn't see until we had already ordered. Getting #1 BBQ in Nashville four years in a row is impressive. I can tell how much you guys love this BBQ! I agree banana pudding needs to be cold. I was also pleasantly surprised at the price. I was expecting it to be much higher. Seems like a very good value.
Joe Diffie was such an amazing performer. Ernest Tubb was so important to country music. I did not know the reason he started the record shop. Thanks for sharing.

Great review. My family felt the same way when we ate at Paula Deen’s. It was ok not great. That biscuits and gravy looks like it’d make you shit your britches on the way out the door. Have a great weekend guys

I’ve been in Nashville since 2010 and never heard of this place. I see they have a location in Franklin close to me so I’m going there. Great review.

Wow! This all looks so good. I could make a meal on just sides. That grit casserole, baked beans and potato salad all look wonderful. I have a t shirt with GRITS...girl's raised in the South...lol. I think it came from Pigeon Forge. I would love to try the catfish here. I like BBQ...but would take catfish over it anytime. Is this their only location? Would love to try it sometime, but Nashville is a 6 hour drive for me, a bit far just to eat..lol. Cool to see Joe Diffie and Earnest Tub's gravesites. I loved Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox and John Deere Green. I saw Confederate Railroad twice in the same day. They were doing 2 shows at a fair we attended and the first one was so good that we stayed to go to the second one. My Grandparents loved Earnest Tubb. I remember hearing him on the opry. They have so many great sides to choose from. That is too cool that you have a shirt that has the GRITS saying. They're starting to expand Edley's to other states, so hopefully one will open up one day near you. We'd love to try their catfish too. Confederate Railroad is another classic band and so neat that you saw them twice in the same day. The music just isn't the same nowadays. The 80s and 90s had some great bands that cannot be replicated. The boys are very excited about school being out. Gentry has 8 days left and Henry's pre-school is almost wrapped up for the summer too. We hope that you have an amazing weekend, Cathy. God bless!

We have one in Chattanooga on the north shore of the Tennessee river that we enjoy. A lot of times they have 100 dollar gift cards at Costco for it for 75 bucks. That’s cool Jennifer grew up growing to church nearby

As soon as you laid those plates down my eyes went to the potato salad. I love a dry potato salad!! and onion~sign me up! Then the gouda in the grits.....wow. There's not a better cheese for grits!

You would really enjoy their potato salad. It was very unique but had so many layers of flavors. The brisket was beef and they said that it was smoked for 10 hours. Gentry says thank you on the turkey sandwich. Coincidentally, we're actually heading to Buc-ee's tonight on our way over to Pigeon Forge later this evening and will be stopping for a Buc-ee's turkey sandwich. So have y'all tried Corky's BBQ and if so do you think it beats them as well.
We have tried Corky's (we haven't filmed at one yet though). We do feel that Edley's beats Corky's - it's definitely a different taste, so your preference may differ, but we loved the white oak smoke flavor and the seasoning that Edley's uses.
I hate to tell you but no local eats there as a BBQ joint. That place is a joke and I swear they don't even smoke their meats they get it in pre-smoked and just reheat it up. You need to go to one of the little hole in the wall barbecue joints that dot around Nashville area that have proper pits in their establishments. This is nothing but a step up from Bar-B-Cutie which is fast food barbecue.
@Odayian420 - This is simply not true. We have friends and family who live in Davidson County that recommended this place. While we do agree that there are many incredible BBQ hole in the wall joints that are also noteworthy in Nashville and surrounding counties, we think that Edley's is the best (and apparently many others who participated in the Nashville Scene reader's polls agree, as well as other organizations that have ranked Edley's as having the best BBQ around). While we respect your subjective opinion that you are not a fan of Edley's, your opinon is not the majority, nor does it represent "the local" opinion.
My daughter has lived in Nashville since 2010 and is a certified “foodie” and rates it an A+++
