Very simple guys, on your bluetooth settings you can't rename the fake AirPods!
Also you can see the AirPods Menu where you can select what AirPod will have the microphone.
Lastly you can't see the AirPods settings on the iPhone General settings, so you can't see the serial number of the Fake Airpods.

*Modern replicas have the serial numbers, about page in settings, and sometimes even show up as legitimate on the Apple website.* The only way you can tell now is by using *iCloud connect (NOT "find my").* That is the only feature that they cannot replicate, due to the Apple servers being inaccessible to outsiders.
Also, if you got yours brand new, *check that the plastic shrink wrap is clean. If it has wrinkles, holes, or rips in it, it is 99% a fake that has been re-sealed.* WATCH OUT for fakes, they are almost impossible to detect now!!

Though the retails aren't that expensive to be honest, I still wouldn't bother buying them. I bought Navapods some time ago (for 50$ or so) and they work great. I'm not an audiophile or anything but they sound pretty decent to me. But nowadays there are quite a lot of knock offs out there so you might get them even cheaper (I just can't recommend any since Navapods are the only ones I tried).

This method is outdated! Modern copies have the serial number (sometimes even with Applecare+), about page, correct weight.. Everything. The only thing no copy has copied yet is iCloud connect!

The serial code on the AirPods should match with the serial code on the Settings - About me section of the iPhone, if you don't see the serial there, then they are fake.

Also I found out personally, the fake ones may display the wrong battery eg. I just charged them and they said that my AirPods are 10 percent. I also removed it from the charger and it shows that it is still charging.
