After my daughter got genuine pro 2’s, I was offered a fake set for £15 (about$18) I was interested to see how good a copy they were, so bought them Tear strips on the box are an immediate warning, but the initial look and feel of the contents would fool many people. 7:57 A big giveaway that the ones you have are fake is that the real ones have the adaptive transparency option in the airpod's settings while the fake ones don't.
I dont know about airpods pro 2 but my fake airpods pro 1 are so good, when i went buying them i stuck with all the warning signs, it passed with flying colours. It has everything even the ANC and transparency in the audio settings, shows in FindMy and even shined a light under it to see the hinge and its the same as the original. The only reason i even knew they were fake was because i bought 2 and they had the same serial number. Otherwise some copies out there are outstandingly good and very hard to tell apart.
I was looking at a pair on the secondhand market and they had all the signs of a fake that you presented in your video. Thank you for saving me from being scammed.
I got the fake ones and they sound very good and work so well with my iPhone. For the price that I got these for, it still feels like a massive steal. Nobody will even tell that they’re fake from a glance anyway so I guess it’s a win! 😂
@@martinez5657 A lady (who said she works at Amazon) came into my salon today selling these for $150. Claiming it’s MSRP $300 (it’s actually $249.99 but $199.99 at Walmart). I declined because I wouldn’t be able to tell if they’re real or fake without taking time to watch this video. She insisted I can open the seal and check. Serial checker came out legit as it ends in Dec 2023. Connects quick and fine like my regular Gen2. Box and build looks legit. I still declined because I don’t like the Pros with the seal cups. She dropped down to $100. My coworker picked up one. After she left I watch this video. Check with the guy next door as he owns a phone repair shop. Says it legit. So at $100 (cash no tax) was a great deal. Maybe I should’ve picked one up too. 😅
You just saved me a lot of money. The seller handed me the fake product and everything that you said about the fake product matched the airpods that he was trying to sell me. Thank you so much. Love from India.
They are getting better and better. The thing is the fakes are actually very good. The 4.9TB models have 8-10 hours of listening time. ANC, Spatial Audio, Find My, and the controls on the AirPods all work the same. They actually have better bass than the real ones. They can be updated to get around the IOS16 warning. The 2nd Gen clones however are not very good yet. The sound quality isn't as good. ANC isn't as good. In a year they will be just as good as the real ones. TBH for $60 you're getting a better value on the 4.9TB (1st Gen Pro) clones. Also worth mentioning the hinge is usually the dead giveaway. The finish is hard to reproduce.
I paid $20 for a pair. They sound almost as good as my same priced wired KZ's, they connect flawlessly and built very nice. Really good deal for the price.
My friend got a pair of these, didn't realize they were fakes until tried to change the ear tips and one didn't come off at all. The case actually split apart completely when trying to remove it. If you don't have anything to compare against, and you use them as is out of the box, these are very accurate fakes.
Yeah I just bought three paid for $60 each. On the plus side, paying $170 for three air pod pros is still a deal as they cost less than one pair of the original. They're not horrible, and the differences are so minute. I wouldn't have bought them if they were even $80.00 because I was buying them for a child initially@@redpillstepdad
yeah they can do, easiest way to tell is if there are 1) simple grammatical mistakes on the box - random double spacing, extra commas, etc .2) the serial number difference between the airpods themselves and the case/ box will rule out most fakes
Hey Redskul, thanks for the video. I spent $240 on the AirPods as a present for my brother and it turns out they where fake and i could not get my money back. Thanks for the content, keep it up!!
This video was incredibly helpful. I was tempted to purchase the second-generation AirPods Pro for $60 lightening port version though they were out of warranty and priced very low. My friend mentioned that these were unsold products, explaining the low price. After watching this video, I gained clarity and managed to save my hard-earned money.
Writings on the case are different from region to region. Only way to determine if it's real or fake is warranty info. This is also tricky because Chinese sellers often sell products with same product number.
@@RedskullPro “i got mine from a random shop in dubai the case all looked real until connected mine to to my ipad in bluetooth it was. named airpods pro and said the same you should on the fake one but i am confused if i have real or fake.”
Hello, I bought an Airpod Pro 2 today. I checked its serial number on Apple's website, it was correct and the other parts were original according to your video. But in the "Find iPhone" section, there is no option to find AirPods like Airtag, and it can only be found by voice. I don't know, maybe there should be a special option for it or I should have turned on the iPhone GPS to find it. Do you think my AirPods are original?
@@RedskullPro I bought it from one of the online sales sites, which is also valid, and the price was without discount.I connected the AirPods to the iPad Air 4, but there is no option to find the case by voice, and only the left and right AirPods can be found by voice, and there is no option to find the AirPods by flash (similar to Airtag).Once I connected the AirPods to my friend's iPhone 12, but again there was no ability to find the AirPods with flash in the financial process of the iPhone (of course, the GPS of the iPhone 12 was disabled).
@@RedskullPro Please compare the original AirPods with the fake in terms of "finding", as well. I checked the serial number of both your original and fake Airpods on the Apple site, and to my surprise, according to the Apple site Both of them are original !!
I've had this issue as well. I searched Google for this issue and tried it myself, which worked. Basically, just turn off the Find My in your iPhone and then turn it back on again after a few seconds. Afterwards, unpair your AirPods Pro to your iPhone and pair them again. Take note though that after you unpaired the AirPods to your iPhone you have to hold down the Setup button on the case for a few seconds to pair and bind them to your Apple ID and Find My servers.
Here in India, fake ones are sold as fake ones for under $10 so good they are being honest. But scammers are selling same for around $100-200. I bought mine last week from apple store and had apple care plus included right away. Now in settings,my warranty do show till 2024..
@@antonioszaouk5783 3 times I did buy fakes. On real ones every device has a different serial number. And when you go to see the serial number you can tip on the serial number and it will change and show the other serial numbers too. That would be case, left phone and right phone number
Thank you. Today following the guidelines of this video I was saved from being scammed from someone selling AirPods Pro on Facebook marketplace. Few things were covered by the fakes including : - It would show up as AirPod Pro on Bluetooth - It would shop Apple coverage and expiry date. Things that still remain, and allowed me to ascertain them as fakes. - It had a plastic inner case instead of cardboard. - Ser no on both buds and case was same. - Plastic on microphone was detectable instead of a grill. Thank you
Hey redskull mine has AppleCare+ for my 2nd generation AirPods but when I did the noise cancellation with the head tracker and with my phone and AirPod on the table I was still able to turn on noise cancellation is it real or fake?
Thank you for that question. I was having the same issue and looked up the warranty and it said I had a limited Apple care warranty and so now I know mines are real ❤
But, just to be sure, if all else isn't proven go to an apple store near you and they'll tell you for sure if they're real or not. Some of these fakes use copied serial numbers from authentic airpods and paste them onto their fakes.
Thank you this was very informative. Many of the things you outlined were exactly like what you showed. Most notable was the ability to turn on noise cancelling on even when not in your ears. The plastic on the sides is not mesh. The cardboard insert was plastic. The green arrow on the earbud spares was a dull green and not a bright green. The cable wrapping was like your fakes. The printing on the Airpods is too small to read. However, the only difference was the warranty was listed as Apple Care +. When I did pair them I do recall the Airpods saying something like Not your AirPods Pro. I'd recently used my daughter AirPod Pros and I could definitely tell the difference which is what made me watch your video in the first place. Fortunately, I only paid $85 and should have known from low price.
@@RedskullProhi, thank you so much for making this video, it was very informative. I noticed all the red flags (the spelling mistakes in the label, the same serial number in the 4 items, the sound quality and the fact that I can activate the transparency mode without having the AirPods in my ear). However, when I first connected them to my phone, I received 6 months free for Apple Music and even Apple Care in the warranty information. Can fakes have that?
@@lmc87lmc-archive95 some reps have amazing anc honestly, not too comparable to the genuine pro 2s, but for their price, some are hands down the BEST quality tws buds you can buy.
@@khxn9029 Yep, from my experience buying tigerbuilder airoha 1562AE 2 times, the anc stopped working after 2 weeks and turns out they both were faulty. Too many issues with reps for me
Prices are not only about the usefulness of the device. The price is also in the design, in the quality of the internal components, in the packaging, in the compatibility and durability. Every step a manufacturer takes to make it harder for counterfeiters costs money. Even the piece of cardboard that goes around the cable is more expensive than the one that comes in the fake ones.
It is more clear explanation and I found fake one little more than what he explained. It shows warranty expired at last line and noise cancellation need to wear AirPods. Rest of the things are almost correct. But it is not sold as real, sellers sell as fake and 15$ in Vietnam. Sound quality and software is almost similar.
If I was sold a fake pair of AirPods Pro 2, would there still be a message that says I have 60 days to buy Apple Care? Is that one way to know I bought a fake pair?
I just recieved a fake version and I completely agree with all the difference he said, for those who never used an original you won’t notice or know what you missing out on but since my wife had one I was able to tell from the audio quality, and the features. One thing that made my fake AirPod too sneaky was the fact it has warranty….. like wtf in Apple Store the serial number is registered as an actual AirPod bought in 5/1/2023 but they are faaaaake!!! It’s like some of these people steal actual case model numbers but replace them the AirPods with fakes
I guess I don’t care if they are fake as well as they work and sound the same. My original AirPods I can transfer between devices, can you with this as well without repairing? Also how is the battery life? I have the opportunity to get them for 1/3 of the cost of the pro 2 and think maybe it’s a decent alternative
So pretty much the best way he described to tell the difference is to check the serial number on the AirPods and serial number on the charger if they are different than they are real if they are the same they are fake
Mine have different serial numbers all around and different in the settings also shows a valid warranty in the Bluetooth settings only found out they are fake because they cant update firmware and I called Apple to get them fixed they said the serial number has a long history they couldn’t discuss with me but I should get my money back it’s crazy how perfect these fakes are
Redskull I may have bought fake ones the MagSafe tag didn’t come off in one piece and there was gaps on the ear bud piece packaging but the serial numbers were different on each airpod and there is Apple care warranty on them are they fake?
I'm telling my story, so I had been hacked, I bought a false aipod pro2. Warranty was live at the time I bought them. Now comparing the box to a real one I can see the difference, but as I never had an airpod before I did not spot. What was not working with the fake one are: firmware upgrade, charging with watch charger, paring with windows device and micro was an awaul quality that I was unable to use it therefor I brought it to the apple store te get it checked. They were checking almost for a month (not mentionning that it has been taken as a device under warranty and came out as a fake device after that month). Basically the fact that it is showing warranty does not mean much as it can be cloned. Locator was showing the 2 airpods separately. So be aware checking the serial on the warranty page does not mean that you have a real device!
I bought a knock off from a gas station, it’s the same everything. It looks identical, only difference is noise cancelation don’t work and it makes a chime when u open the case, but I got them for 25 bucks and the sound quality is identical to the actual ones, for 175 dollars cheaper I can live with no noise cancelation and a noise when I open my case
I just keep buying fake ones on ebay and report sellers by doing so. They don’t even bother providing me with return label so i get to keep them + full refund. Then i give them out to people for free
Hey quick update here, so recently I have seen some clones that have replicated the plastic wrap around the AirPods case, it features now the pull tab, the text on the back of the wrap and looks much better done, I have also seen clones with pull tabs on the back without those “holes” underneath of the dotted line. So they are improving them. You can still tell them apart tho trough the overall quality of the box and the overall color of the box. But some aspects have been improved upon on the fakes, so be sure to beware!
I swear I bought fake ones, and I knew they were fake when I bought them so i wasn't too pressed. But it shows me the warranty and shows up in the find my iphone place. So I'm VERY confused
Don’t be. They managed to replicate that too. Take in mind they probably get the serial number on those fake AirPods from real AirPods, and that is how they get them to show as legit AirPods, because the serial number comes from legit AirPods. Clones are getting slowly but surely almost impossible to distinguish from the real deal.
@@s0n1cd3vI'm starting to wonder if that's a bad thing. If they can manage to get the same or close to the same results for a fraction of the price then I'm for it. I don't care about the brand as much as features and value.
It took me all the way to the 8 minute mark before I felt *super* confident that these are real since I bought mine renewed from Backmarket. Thank you for breaking this down. It's harder to tell nowadays.
A little correction, "Not your ipods" message is not a fake sign, the original one also shows that message if you haven't paired it before. Just try to forget the device and try to pair it again, you can confirm this also by watching other original airpods pairing.
Bro but that’s the problem, I am always checking on marketplace and people are selling real ones for under $200 dollars. Like looking at the pictures they look real and I really don’t want to spend $300 dollars on airpods
Hey, so I got a pair of fakes, tragic, the tear things ripped, the cardboard thing is plastic, npice cancelation is delayed, ding noise is different, the actual buds domt even come out, and serial number are all the same, text is different. So what do I do about it? I didnt buy them and I dont want to tell the person thaylt bought me them because I know they didnt mean to but I dont know where he got them from, I just know he got them from an actual store... What do I do?
Does it make anyone wonder though why do people keep paying Apple so much premium for something that costs them probably $20-30, all overheads included? Doubt that.
Thank You so much! You just saved me from going to buy a a pair of fakes from someone I was meeting tomorrow. I watched your video, went back and looked closely at the pictures and seen more than 1 red flag. Again, thank you!
When i go into settings i see the limited warranty message pop up, but everything else you brought up in this video is different on my AirPods, so i still don’t know what to think.
Thank you! With the help of your video I just felt like a tech pro 😄 and educated a young guy that wanted to sell me a fake AirPod pro 2. It was very easier to detect starting from the reaping off, to trying to connect with my phone, to checking the serial number under on each piece. Thank you
Excellent video and very well detailed points. There must be many more different details regarding internal components, such as soldering, battery quality, electronic design, etc. I don't know what the norm or rules are in terms of marketing but I wonder if it will be effective for authorized dealers to have a copy of fake ones so customers can see the differences. Thanks for the video.

There was neigher a straight line nor a dotted line, it was like entire thing was glued. First red flag, I asked the person if I can open it and check few more things, he was agitated by it, and said you can pay and then open it. I said, No, thank you! and he left very calmly. Clear sign it was a fake one. Please be aware, people are doing scam publicly.
Who would ever let you open them and destroy half the value of selling them new? What if you open them but are wrongly convinced they’re fake? You just screw over an honest person? Yeah, cool story…
Yesterday I went to meet someone on offer to buy some and he told me I could open them and check. I did, and since they were a gift and I'd just opened them I ended up getting a second pair lol. They felt legit and looked legit. I would have known they were fake if I'd seen this first. However, people will let you open them first. I think that the reason why is because when you open them, they know that you won't be able to tell the difference right away and you will likely say okay and buy them.@@chrisjenkins203
my fake airpods were claimed as real and i didnt realize they were fake until i put them in my ears, everything was in tact even the warranty but it said it expired. but the box was off, a bigger thing you can tell that they are fake of the light isnt white and is green when you first connect them
I got mine and averything seems mixed. So the opening package actually ripped like the fake ones here, but I get a limited warranty date in settings… I might be misremembering but I think I saw the message “Not your AirPods” at some point, however, now it says “(My name)’ AirPods Pro 2”. Signal is mixed up?
There are other methods to identify fake airpods: 1-The weight between empty cases -fake vs real and weight between airpods fake vs real without case. 2-If you open the case and put a strong light inside the case you will observ the hidden components in the real once vs the fake!
@@Unicorniomanco Yes, there is a difference. In the bright light you will notice the symmetry of the hidden components in the cover of the case to the original ones, while the fake ones have no symmetry and there are much fewer components. Another method is to weigh the airpods but without the case.
@@ADK208oh yeah and make sure you don’t tell anyone the weight they should be looking for. Just comment about it twice and how it “helps” spot the fakes. 🤦🏽♂️
I also noticed, that the picture here (2:10), is a picture of the first generation of the AirPods, not the new ones! You can tell by the black bar on top is longer than the newer model. try to compare here; (2:08 & 2:10).
I too was recently scammed. Wish I had seen this video before buying. One thing I noticed it that the fake airpod cases had gaps under the cover. If you puch you fingernail at the front part of the inside of the case (near the part you open it from), it should not split or bend.
I think mine are fake but I paid $100 for them from a local meetup reseller. It’s impressive that the fakes managed to have the integration with your iPhone that gives them functionality that the real ones have
I did to but I got the 1st Gen which were good but was missing a lot of Apple’s original Airpods Features such as Siri, Noice cancellation and more but they were ok
for the part of the expirey date not showing, I was gifted a pair of airpods pro (not sure which generation) and they show me the expirey date normally like normal airpods pro
Couple of months ago I thought I have bought the real ones, but I have later found out that they were fake. They even had warranty / expiry in the settings. It's scary!
Yeah when Alex said there’s no warranty info, I thought perhaps mine are not fake! Apple told me today that these are fake. How did you find out yours are fake?
@@arogers1606 well even Apple couldn’t, tell me for sure that they were fake, but after speaking to several from Apple, they eventually said that it appeared that they were fake, even though everything was showing as the original. Wow thank you for this. I've been seeing a ton of these on Facebook Market place for like half the price of the real ones and I was wondering why they were so cheap. I suspected they were probably fake, so when looking a the photos they provided, they were indeed fake. Careful everyone!
I just got one from marketplace. According to you, box looks fake but i found the expiration date and also it did not turned on the noise cancellation while its in the case. So in this matter it looks real. What should i do???
2 more details in this video (that should apply to all fakes I hope) that was not mentioned, but I did happen to notice are. 1.) The Square paperwork inside the box •The original papers are rounded in their corners •The fake papers are symmetrical perfect squares. 2.) The light glow centered in front of the charging case. •The original has an animated blinking glow, and the circle placed for the light is barely visible. Finally the light itself glows white. •The fakes blink in bland consistency, the circle placed for the light is clear as day, and the light glows green.
It was very clear. Thank you for making this video, it helped me buy a second-hand pair of Air Pods without paying around 200 bucks for them. I got them for about 130 dollars.
I’m fairly certain I’m holding a pair of fake ones right now, but they tell me the warranty information. Counterfeiters can clone serial numbers though, can’t they? I’m almost convinced mine are fake. I’ve ordered a pair of real ones from Apple to check 😅
It’s amazing how they show up similar to original ones on the phone you would think Apple wouldn’t allow that and they would have to connect as standard Bluetooth headphones?
ONE QUESTION I HAVEN'T SEEN ANSWERED If they are copying someone else's Serial number, why does that serial number not show up in multiple places? How is it that that serial number can populate on only your phone then?
The “fake” AirPods that I got for $30 have everything the real ones have. Including the details with the box and having the metal and pull tabs and that tab for the AirPods themselves. Idk what to believe lol
Thanks for this video. I was about to buy some from FB Marketplace as they claimed they were sealed in the box and even had the Apple pull tabs. Guess I'll be paying more from authorized retailer instead.

So there are a few things that look like the fake ones but also the noise cancellation doesn’t work when I don’t have them in my ear. It also says the coverage is expired. I got them as a present in October. I’m pretty sure they’re real but some things don’t seem like it. Could it also be that I live in Europe (specifically Germany) and Apple makes the product seem different than in USA?
I purchased fake ones from Morocco airport, they were $45 so being that i knew they would be fake but for $45 they not bad as a back up pair. I have the real ones and the opening experience of the box was a huge teller for me. They don’t noice cancel and they not as loud as the real. Also i did have warranty date in the setting so must have been good fake
Depends on the fake also I have seen high quality fakes that get everything right ..even iCloud switching..spatial audio and the rest... It's getting real hard out here And tbh some of these fakes are insane for the price I tested one that cost 70 and I couldn't tell a major difference in noise cancelling with my originals from Apple store..the transparency is slightly worse but you won't notice unless it's side by side And the sound quality is better than the original airpods but worse than the airpods 2 So if you wanna go for it .just get them for 70 ish ..they are great value .or buy straight from Apple or authorised sellers to avoid heartbreak
I thought I was buying a replacement case on eBay for my real ones but I ended up getting a sealed “new” set of AirPods. I knew they were fake because who would sell real pods for $50 but my dog is always eating them anyway so I figured I’d check em out anyway. This video is spot on in identifying fakes with the box tear tabs, the plastic vs cardboard packaging inside, and the lettering on the case and AirPods. That’s where the differences end. These AirPods somehow have: -real black mesh -noise cancellation works 80% as well -good build quality I’ll come back and make an edit if they end up crapping the bed but overall the only thing I feel like I’m missing right now is a real warranty.
Wouldn’t the best and easiest way to look would be to put your serial number in apple coverage? It will automatically show the AirPod pros as being registered and it even shows the date the warranty ends.
i just got a pair for christmas and i can’t tell if they’re real or not, they did the “not my airpods thing” when i opened them but other parts of them seem real when i look in the settings at the warranty bit there is something there but it says coverage expired
If they have the warranty date in setting and it is the same as the one in apple site after typing in the serial number, then its definitely real right?
My airpod pro case and box matches serial number but I’m having issues seeing the pop up when you try to connect and having issues on phone call as well

Same here!! love from KY

Do fake airpods also have the serial number that can be checked on apple website?
yeah they can do, easiest way to tell is if there are 1) simple grammatical mistakes on the box - random double spacing, extra commas, etc .2) the serial number difference between the airpods themselves and the case/ box will rule out most fakes

Where did you buy them from?
It’s fake
Here in India, fake ones are sold as fake ones for under $10 so good they are being honest.
But scammers are selling same for around $100-200.

Now in settings,my warranty do show till 2024..

- It would show up as AirPod Pro on Bluetooth
- It would shop Apple coverage and expiry date.

- It had a plastic inner case instead of cardboard.
- Ser no on both buds and case was same.
- Plastic on microphone was detectable instead of a grill.

How are they managing to fake Apple Coverage on the fake Airpods?
Hey redskull mine has AppleCare+ for my 2nd generation AirPods but when I did the noise cancellation with the head tracker and with my phone and AirPod on the table I was still able to turn on noise cancellation is it real or fake?
If AppleCare plus is valid on it, it can’t be fake.
He said fakes can have warranty
I’m glad the video was useful. Too bad those are fake
It just goes to show how much Apple are overcharging for their product when, as you say, the replicas sound very good and look identical .
I mean..we all knew what a scam apple is :)
imo, the retail ones are worth the price, awesome anc. the reps have awful anc right now.
My original one from Apple Store also came with plastic tray inside..
Good to know.
3:08 also for the fake AirPods the user pouch edges are sharp where as the apple's version are curved.
Just bought these and mine are fake, however but I got the warranty information, also the serial numbers are different. I think they are improving.
With fake ones you cannot transfer audio without repairing. Also firmware update is not working, charging with watch charger is not working as well
So pretty much the best way he described to tell the difference is to check the serial number on the AirPods and serial number on the charger if they are different than they are real if they are the same they are fake
One of the best ways. I tried 20+ fakes and none of them had different serial numbers
Thanks for sharing with everyone
I bought a knock off from a gas station, it’s the same everything. It looks identical, only difference is noise cancelation don’t work and it makes a chime when u open the case, but I got them for 25 bucks and the sound quality is identical to the actual ones, for 175 dollars cheaper I can live with no noise cancelation and a noise when I open my case
I just keep buying fake ones on ebay and report sellers by doing so. They don’t even bother providing me with return label so i get to keep them + full refund. Then i give them out to people for free
Hahaha! That’s awesome

Pro tip: If the price looks too good to be true…
…it probably is!
That should always be the first thing to look out for!
Not much you can do… use them as they are…
As soon I used the noice cancellation I knew
i can’t hear everything and everyone with the noise cancellation on
Does it make anyone wonder though why do people keep paying Apple so much premium for something that costs them probably $20-30, all overheads included? Doubt that.
I might have the fake airpods pro 2 too as I bought them cheap from market place however it does show me warranty expiry date.

There are other methods to identify fake airpods:
1-The weight between empty cases -fake vs real and weight between airpods fake vs real without case.
2-If you open the case and put a strong light inside the case you will observ the hidden components in the real once vs the fake!
The 1st one… well not many people have a scale at home :)
The 2nd one is a great tip!
Is there any absolute difference between the hidden components?
@@Unicorniomanco Yes, there is a difference. In the bright light you will notice the symmetry of the hidden components in the cover of the case to the

@@RedskullPro no, Amazon often sells fakes without knowing it. It's because of their storage logistic system. Would never buy them there.
It’s amazing how they show up similar to original ones on the phone you would think Apple wouldn’t allow that and they would have to connect as standard Bluetooth headphones?
Cause the good ones have the same shit inside
Link bro
ONE QUESTION I HAVEN'T SEEN ANSWERED If they are copying someone else's Serial number, why does that serial number not show up in multiple places? How is it that that serial number can populate on only your phone then?
The “fake” AirPods that I got for $30 have everything the real ones have. Including the details with the box and having the metal and pull tabs and that tab for the AirPods themselves. Idk what to believe lol
Does Siri work when you put the earpiece in?
You probably got better fake ones than me
bro where have you bought it please?
Thanks for this video. I was about to buy some from FB Marketplace as they claimed they were sealed in the box and even had the Apple pull tabs. Guess I'll be paying more from authorized retailer instead.
Hey, thanks for the info. Crazy how well they're getting these days... I heard that the "Weight" test can be the easiest way to tell if buying on the go, if you're able to bring a small pocket scale that is. Appreciate your vids man, ill sub and follow along!
Thanks for the sub!
What’s the weight of the real AirPods 2?
@@Lewis714 google got you bro, quicker and more accurate then me trying to remember…
SAME
You can also tell by checking if you mange to push in you're nail between the inner shell and outer shell of the box, if it opens, it's a fake
Mine are fake damn it but it was 80$ luckly
just got mines for 60 lol
Low-key worth it
The best guide to buy used airpods so far 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Depends on the fake also
I have seen high quality fakes that get everything right ..even iCloud switching..spatial audio and the rest...
It's getting real hard out here
And tbh some of these fakes are insane for the price
I tested one that cost 70 and I couldn't tell a major difference in noise cancelling with my originals from Apple store..the transparency is slightly worse but you won't notice unless it's side by side
And the sound quality is better than the original airpods but worse than the airpods 2
So if you wanna go for it .just get them for 70 ish ..they are great value
.or buy straight from Apple or authorised sellers to avoid heartbreak
Yeah you are right, they are getting better and better all the time

I thought I was buying a replacement case on eBay for my real ones but I ended up getting a sealed “new” set of AirPods. I knew they were fake because who would sell real pods for $50 but my dog is always eating them anyway so I figured I’d check em out anyway. This video is spot on in identifying fakes with the box tear tabs, the plastic vs cardboard packaging inside, and the lettering on the case and AirPods. That’s where the differences end. These AirPods somehow have:
-real black mesh
-noise cancellation works 80% as well
-good build quality
I’ll come back and make an edit if they end up crapping the bed but overall the only thing I feel like I’m missing right now is a real warranty.
At least Alex is always the real deal! Peace
As always! :) Thanks for stopping by Scott
Wouldn’t the best and easiest way to look would be to put your serial number in apple coverage? It will automatically show the AirPod pros as being registered and it even shows the date the warranty ends.
Just got mine for 50 dollars ! Probably fake but it works fine ? What else I should look for ?
i just got a pair for christmas and i can’t tell if they’re real or not, they did the “not my airpods thing” when i opened them but other parts of them seem real when i look in the settings at the warranty bit there is something there but it says coverage expired
Fake :( they copy the serial number
After watching the video I ordered one from marketplace and thanks to you i was able to recognize the fake one and saved myself from getting scammed
You saved me from buying a set of fakes. Thanks!!!!
If they have the warranty date in setting and it is the same as the one in apple site after typing in the serial number, then its definitely real right?
should be
No there not
My airpod pro case and box matches serial number but I’m having issues seeing the pop up when you try to connect and having issues on phone call as well
When you look up the serial number on apple support and it works does it mean it’s fake or real??
It can be either. They just copy the serial number from a real pair of earbuds
