      Anime characters speak strangely. I surely don't want to sound that way. I suggest watching regular Japanese shows for kids like Caillou, Peppa Pig, etc and then progress to Japanese TV shows or Japanese TH-camrs.

    a note to beginners: kanji looks scary at first, but its an amazing tool. its a really beautiful writing system, and once you get the hang of it you'll be forever glad you put in the time and effort into learning it. dont overwork yourself, learning 5-10 per day is reccomended. there's no way to learn kanji or any language fast, so it'll definitely take some time. the key to learning is consistently putting in a little time every single day

    For beginners, one Japanese learning hack is to get an illustration book that teaches English to Japanese children. These books often have illustrations for common objects, animals, etc as well as their name in Japanese and in English. It introduces you to words you would realistically use in real life. You can probably use this method to learn the basic vocabulary for all languages. Once you advance enough and learn enough grammar (around N3 level), you can start playing Japanese mobile games, which exposes you to more vocabulary and expressions.

      @@ScarecrowSkye The one I use is めちゃカワMAX!!小学生英語イラストBOOK. It's a very cutesy book meant for elementary school children, but is very well organized and teaches all the basic words and expressions you'd realistically use in real life. One caveat is that it doesn't teach expressions that are used for sad occasions (such as in a funeral, for example). It's a book primarily meant for young children, after all.

      すごい!You learnedひらがな and カタカナ really fast. That’s a great way to start! (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)
      As for Kanji, I’m now learning Kanji as I learn vocabulary words but when I was just starting to learn Japanese, I would set aside time for learning Kanji alone. My initial goal is just to be able to recognize the Kanji characters. For instance, my first goal is to be able to recognize that 火 means fire and 水 means water. I don’t immediately focus on learning the on-reading & kun-reading. I only start to learn the readings after I’ve become acquainted with all the basic Kanji characters.
      You can start learning Kanji anytime you want. My suggestion is to learn only 5-10 Kanji per day to avoid being overwhelmed.

      こんにちは。It would take a lot of handwriting practice specially for the Kanji characters. When I was just starting to learn how to write hiragana and katakana, it really looked like it’s written by a child. As for Kanji, knowing the stroke order helps in writing the characters better.

      @StudywithMiejie  ปีที่แล้ว

      こんにちはジェイソンさん。Thanks for supporting my channel! Glad that you like this video. (*ˊᗜˋ*)/ᵗᑋᵃᐢᵏ ᵞᵒᵘ♡✧*。
      As for learning hiragana, focus first on learning the characters without the dakuten. Once you’ve mastered them, you’ll eventually find learning the ones with dakuten a lot easier. I recommend studying it per row. They usually go with the one with almost the same pronunciation, k/g, s/z*, t/d*, h/b/p.
      *(except for i-line for s-row which becomes ji, and for i & u line for t-row which becomes ji & zu.)
      As for ji & zu, the ones I’ve encountered for N5 vocabulary are mostly, if not all, from s-row hiragana.
      Another tip for remembering the dakuten is to start learning core vocabulary words. It would be helpful if you can remember some core words with dakuten like がんばってください。
      Lastly, it is important to take note that repetition, constant exposure and consistency are the keys to mastery. You’ll be able to master hiragana and katakana faster if you study and practice daily. (◍•ᴗ•◍)
      Hope this helps! Good luck in learning Japanese! がんばってね!(。-ᴗ•)✧

      こんにちは。 I think it depends on your purpose for learning Japanese and what your interests are. If your goal is to pass the JLPT N5, I would suggest learning Genki I or Minna no Nihongo I. There are free resources here on TH-cam. These are the ones that I know:
      th-cam.com/video/GaQBL4XHuSo/w-d-xo.html
      th-cam.com/video/wDpsF90DoeI/w-d-xo.html
      I have not yet gone through all their videos but I believe their videos are helpful. Let me know if you’re preparing for higher levels of JLPT so I can share relevant links for N4, N3 or N2.
      On the other hand, if your goal is to learn Japanese so you can have basic conversations, you can try italki, HelloTalk or JapanesePod101/Innovative Language Learning.
      For learning basic grammar, I would recommend Easy Japanese by NHK World-Japan.
      I have also come across Japanese for Busy People (Kana version). I think this book is a great resource for learning Japanese if you have limited time.
      I have not yet tried joining a language community for Japanese other than attending one online meeting with Japan Foundation Manila. I’ll let you know once I have found a good one.
      Hope this helps. がんばってください。 (◍•ᴗ•◍)

    HELP , I have finished learning Hiragana and katakana, in no time (with no focus on writing, i only care about reading really😅). And now i am able to read it, but there is always a kanji chara that hits me in the face.
    I am kinda stuck now, idk if i should start learning kanji first ?( and if so, how do i approach it?). Or as u said. I should start with some vocab, people say that learning vocab with kanji charas in it helps, even tho i dont get it, since some charas are really similar, u cant read a word according to another u have seen before, since it may be a completly different chara that is pretty similar.So learning each kanji individually and its meaning is a must? Right?
    I HAVE HIT A WALL. Any advices?

      @StudywithMiejie  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First of all, congratulations for learning ひらがな and カタカナ fast. すごい! (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)
      The next step for me is the trickiest part in learning Japanese for beginners because it would totally depend on one’s intention or goal for learning the language.
      Some learners approach learning Japanese with the intention of passing the JLPT N5 so their study plan is to simply cover the kanji characters, vocabulary words and grammar lessons for the N5 level first.
      If you’re also planning to take the JLPT, you can follow the approach of learning Japanese from N5 level first to N1 level.
      But if you simply love learning kanji characters, you can do so by all means. You can start by being able to recognize the characters first before proceeding to learn how to read the characters in Japanese. Kanji Look and Learn book is a great resource for this. It covers kanji from N5 to N3 level.
      In short, the next step will totally depend on what you’re most interested in. I actually started learning kanji before just because I love being able to recognize the characters. Even though I don’t know how to read it yet in Japanese, when I see it in writing I can understand what it means.
      One last tip, just do what you think is fun for you and avoid being overwhelmed with too much info. Hope this helps. がんばってください。 ଘ(੭ˊ꒳ˋ)੭✧

      I agree with you. Learning Japanese as a beginner is quite overwhelming and confusing when there’s just lots of resources available. I suggest you select just one or two resources first and try to stick with it if it works for you. What really worked for me is learning vocabulary and grammar at the same time through the LingoDeer app. (Not sponsored.) (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)
      If you prefer to study using textbooks instead of using apps, you can try learning 1 chapter of Minna no Nihongo I per day so it won’t be too overwhelming. (I prefer Minna no Nihongo over Genki I.) There are also free resources here in TH-cam teaching Minna no Nihongo I and Genki I that you can check.

    Do you have tips for learning hiragana ?

    • @StudywithMiejie
      @StudywithMiejie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      こんにちは。I suggest learning it per row. Start first with the vowels あ い う え お (a i u e o). I recommend associating the characters with images like this Hiragana video from JapanesePod101: th-cam.com/video/6p9Il_j0zjc/w-d-xo.html
      Once you’re already familiar with the vowel row, you can proceed with the next row (K-row) か き く け こ (ka ki ku ke ko), then the S-row and so on. Then as for the ones with dakuten and handakuten, I suggest learning it once you’re already familiar with all the basic characters. Then last would be the ones in い-line (きしちにひみり) combined with the や ゆ よ (ya yu yo), example: きゃ.
      As for the special character combination like ふぁ, you can learn it later along the way once you’ve already mastered the basic character combinations. Hope this helps. (◍•ᴗ•◍)
      P.S. Daily practice & consistency is the key to mastering Hiragana faster. がんばってください! ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ♡‧₊˚
