I am currently on day 9 of my sugar detox. My eating was out of control, and it was becoming incredibly costly and unhealthy. I've lost weight (about 2 to 3lbs) and I'm feeling satiated for longer periods. I feel healthier and more energized. Additionally, I believe my anxiety has gone down. The one downside is that there is a feeling of depression I am experiencing from eliminating sugar from my diet. I assume this is because I'm no longer getting that sugar dopamine hit at night. Hopefully, it will pass with time.
Thank you so much for your videos, Dr. Kim. I appreciate how you speak calmly and gently in a low tone of voice and slowly enough that I can catch everything you're saying. It makes all the difference. 🙂

I just started a Magnesium supplement and i can attest to what this doctor says about it reducing sugar cravings. I am gradually eating better and better everyday as i no longer feel the constant anxiety that was making me exhausted and driving my sugar cravings. THANKS for this info. I will continue on with the Magnesium and with gradually reducing my sugar intake to mostly zero. Sweets should only be for genuine special occasions, not an everyday food.
@@PandolfoCarlahi! I bought a magnesium citrate/glycinate powder from my local supermarket. It's Swisse brand which is also available on Amazon. Unfortunately it has sulfites in it as an additive, which can give some people an allergic reaction I think headaches or even hives. If you react to wine or dried apricots (they have sulfites in them) then you might have to look for a different brand.
I quit eating refined sugar and even fruit four years ago. I have reversed high cholesterol, reversed pre-diabetes, reversed sleep apnea, reversed high blood pressure pressure, and reversed brain damage with promoting BDNF production daily.
This is fantastic info. Thanks for making this. My only question: is it okay to consume fruit during this 21-day reset/sugar detox? Is it ideal to take the balls-to-the-wall approach and not consume any fruit at all during those 21 days, to ensure sugar intake is as close to 0 as possible? I'm also wondering if it's okay to treat natural sweeteners like honey the same way one would treat fruit.
personally i don’t worry about fresh fruit as the sugar is consumed with fiber, so we don’t end up absorbing as much sugar.. plus vitamin c in fruit deactivates fructose as well
Hello. I was wondering or you have any video or plan on making one about " WHO advises not to use non-sugar sweeteners for weight control in newly released guideline" Results of the review also suggest that there may be potential undesirable effects from long-term use of NSS, such as an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and mortality in adults. Would be interesting to see ur opinion on this .
I am an older adult and take magnesium citrate capsules. They absorb really well because they're capsules and not tablets. If you're a younger person then tablets might be okay because we have more stomach acid for breaking foods down when we're younger and our digestion works much better than in our later years (I'm almost 60.) Also, if you have difficulty with constipation the magnesium citrate is definitely the way to go as it helps "move things along" more comfortably. And it really helps to prevent charley horses! I hope this helps.
dr mandell states to put rice and past in the refrigerator and to freeze bread for 24 hours and it does something so we can eat it without the sugar spikes and stops all that bad stuff
2-3 days water fast is extremely effective at reducing both hunger and sugar/carbs craving. On top of making you lose fat ultra fast. 24h fast seems completely useless for both hunger reset and fat loss. From my experience, it's 1kg of fat/1.5kg of weight per 24h after the first 24h. If I do a true 2d/6 meal skip, I lose 1.5kg and I recover 500g in the following days. With a 3d/9 meal skip, I lose 3kg and recover 1kg in the following days. Not just that but after a year of overeating, the fast made me cut in 40-50% my pasta/potato servings without feeling the need to eat more. Aside from that, what is missing in your video is developing cooking skills. 90% of factory food objectively tastes bland. Extreme sugar/fat/salt is the only reason that food is edible. Nearly all weight loss media content shows grotesque "healthy" food to obese people. Some awful salads and steamer vegetables that no one wants to eat. That's not sustainable. The Anglosaxon culture is the worst in the world when it comes to cooking, it predates the industrial revolution. Learning to cook great meals is the best way to reduce fast food cravings. Blaming white rice is vert dubious given that East Asia consumes it at every meal and is the least obese part of the world. French cream, Italian pasta or Asian rice. It doesn't matter. None of those cooking cultures created obesity. Obesity started when people forgot how to cook and ended up only eating processed trash. What's true though is that stress and unease pushes cravings. Leftism creates obesity by destroying the family and social trust.

You answered so many questions i had about what types of sugars are good to cut out
excellent
Am in week 3 of sugar fast. Am still getting sugar cravings periodically.
Cutting down on sugar is one of the best decisions you can make to start living healthily.
It would help to have a pdf food plan. For example can I eat potatoes as in a baked potato?
This is good!
One question though- do I have to drink the vinegar water mix 15 mins before meals only? Or can I drink it in the morning
If it taste sweet then it’s a problem even with stevia for example as long as your palette taste the sweetness you will crave it ….
0:36 I wonder what that doctor must have written😱
Thank u soo much doctor
How does one know what to look out for if they have kidney disease
There are several forms of magnesium. Which type is recommended?

@@LeonidKimMD I eat fruits and natural sweet things no added sugar I m down 17.4 lb in 24 days Alhamdulillah
Cortisol?
Is eating fruit bad then? Like apples that have fiber?🤔
fruit is great! you’re right, the fiber in the fruit is why you don’t actually absorb that much sugar or get a spike in blood sugar
this is hard.. particularly for asian.. we love rice..
same here as a west african
