    I gotta admit your plate method is something new for me, korean dude I learned from uses woods ranging from bamboo which is very tough itself to mulberry which is very brittle to garbage like birch and mountain pine and he'd always hammer the first layer into separate strands before gluing to the bow. On the other hand I've never made a 120 pound (or stronger) bow so perhaps i'll try doing it this way when I try some really "risky" constructions! Thanks for the video, always great to learn something new from a master craftsman

    More people asked me, in which material does the sinew and the wood boiled? The wood is a plant-extract, which is fermented, and after that it is acidified.
    This material makes the wood's structure more rigid. There was handled the arrows with this same material, to shoot it also from strong bow, and don't twist them.
    The sinew is a protein-tincture (very liquid, and slightly alkaline). This material can made from milk too.
    After that, when this material dry together with the sinew, it could be fragile, and not to happen this, we should fix it (so there should be cross-binding between the proteins).

      @Sk0lzky 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think in America you can actually purchase the one used for sinews it in a powdered form online, I have no idea about the plant based liquid used for the wood, never had to process mine in this way (and I don't live in America anyway xD).
      I'm also pretty sure I've seen some guides online on how to make it (or similar one), again - only the milk way.

      Mr Grozer. Can you be more specific about the material for the wood boiled. The plant extract?

    • @csabagrozer7557
      @csabagrozer7557  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@victorneto6014 That is an acid treatment with a natural material. It makes a little more carbonated the wood and makes it more durable. The horn is needed to be treated as well but with another material.

      @@csabagrozer7557 Thank you for your answer Mr Grozer. I understand this maybe a secret and you do not wish to reveal to public what is that natural material. I respect your wish. I'd really love to learn how to use those synthetic materials, it's a real pain to get horn and even sinew in my country, people don't like questions they don't not expect to hear so whenever I ask butchers about sinews they look like like I murdered their loved ones and asked if I could have theirs...
      Oh and horn? No water buffalos (or anything with large horns tbh) in a few thousands of km^2, while import duty costs so much it's comparable to to getting an off the shelf grozer bow lol

    I am an artist sculptor, inventor and great handyman since childhood. A 76 year old grandpa. For months, I have been bothering to cut bamboo blades with a plane and files to make Asian, Turkish, Mongolian arches etc. I won't hide from you that to hand plan a 9mm bamboo blade to arrive at 4 and 5 mm thick, moreover with a change in thickness along its length, it's a hassle. File in one hand and caliper in the other. I don't have a circular saw and an electric planer, damn. I have just bought from a seller of archery equipment in France large (reconstituted bamboo blades 5 cm wide and 1.90m long and 2mm thick.) For the manufacture of several bows for my little ones children and my daughter.
    the problem is, i'm broke and these bamboo blades cost me an arm even both.
    Can't find the original manufacturer which I think is from China? "It is not a certainty"
    I am looking for a distributor and the Asian manufacturer of these large reconstituted bamboo blades. Thank you
    Why are the handles of Turkish arches the other way around?
    I can't seem to get a good answer on this topic. ???
    Can you help me find this maker? Thank you.
    Yours truly
    Patric

    • @hamasmillitant1
      @hamasmillitant1 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      game tendons are better, cow ext tendons have a high fat content and they spoil faster. at least thats what they used to say not sure it applys if you use modern glues with them. but they used to like the gamyest tendons they could get because they made bows that lasted the longest. cow was ofc available as where sheep but if you could get something gamy like a ibex it made a longer lasting bow than one of your sheep and im pretty sure cow is better than sheep not 100% but i know sheeps the fattiest meat it probably also goes for its tendons
