I like this idea of the old nostalgic "thick" steel body on a newer, more modern running gear, and is a great way to go.
You did an amazing job on this old buggy.
Thank you so much, we love driving it, thanks for watching!
Love you jeep. You must be proud of it.
Thanks, I am, and still working on it

Beauty!
Thx!
I want to do something similar to that, I want to start with a single cab short bed, use the same 3/4 ton running gear, with a 6BT Cummins and a 5 speed 🤤
That would be sweet too, you could probably find a long bed 3/4 ton with the Cummins and cut the frame down and already have motor, trans and rad mounts built in
Yes great looking project, I would like to use my Chevy 5window cab and build a flat bed use either 5.9 or 4bt Cummins
Love it
Thanks!
Excelente Job;I want to do the same with a Willys Wagon!
if i can answer any questions along the way just let me know, thanks for watching
@@robguysgarage5422 thanks.I will 👍🏻
Wow what a great result. I always like the Jeep Pick up body, But i want to set it down over a C5 Corvette Roller chassis. I wonder what the wheels are? Thank You for posting for us. Dennis in Virginia
Thanks, the wheels on my truck are Raceline Rockcrushers
Mantap men
Thanks!
Fantastic truck, well done. Just wondering why you used those mirrors? I guess that you may change them sometime. Cool video.
I used the stock mirrors so that I can hook up the heated and electric movement of them in the future since all of the wiring is still there, thanks!
Great build. I'm doing similiar thing with a Ford Explorer w/5.0 v8 on a 47 truck cab, and I also have a 53 Panel Wagon on a 2-door Explorer frame, it fits perfectly. The explorer (95-01) has a narrow track that fits the willys perfectly, a full size dodge truck must be wider? BTW, I swapped in a 1999 Dodge R/T 5.9/trans into a 74 Dodge Motorhome, I had to figure out all the wiring and integrate with the motorhome wiring. The real cool thing is I used the 5.9 gauges and cut them out into separate gauges and put them into the stock motorhome gauge panel, the control board was placed behind the gauge panel.
That's awesome, I love the idea of splitting up thr cluster into separate panels, never would have thought of that, thanks for watching!
The Ram was about 16" wider than the Willys too
Awesome build! You have inspired me to build something similar.
What did your wheelbase end up being? And how wide is the 1500 frame? I'm looking at different vintage cabs, Dodge and Willys and taking measurements.
Thank's for your help.
Thanks! The wheelbase is 118", we took 18" out of the frame, the frame is 32 1/2" wide in the front, and the width is right at 7' to the outside of my tires
@@robguysgarage5422 Awesome, thank's for your help and time. Those measurements will come in handy.
This truck is AWESOME! Where did you find the rear fenders?
Thanks, they're actually the original rear fenders
YOU DID A GREAT JOB / I DIG IT BIG TIME / YOU MAKE IT SOUND TO E/Z TO BUILD
Thanks, I appreciate that
Would you happen to have the part numbers for the durango fuel pump and the radiator setup? You inspired me to take on the same build but a wagon.
That's really cool, yes I will get them for you
The fuel pump was from carparts.com, part number redp314523 for a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT 5.2 $65, the radiator was from eBay it's a 2 row aluminum, dual 10-inch fans for a CJ v8 conversion radiator
Thanks alot.
I’m trying to do something similar. Is it legal to have a completely different looking vehicle on my chevy or would I have to register it as some sort of custom vehicle?
I'm not really sure, it probably differs from state to state, maybe a hot rod shop in your area that deals with the modification may know the best
What I like to do with my 98 dodge ram 1500
Do it, it's worth it
