  • You are worth something.
    You probably know that.
But... do you really know it? Deep down? Do you think and act like that is truly the case? Or does a quiet, pervasive feeling of worthlessness plague your days?
Moving through life, we pick up lies that challenge the unchanging truth that we have intrinsic value. So, today, designer/speaker/author Lillian Fallon has 4 truths to hear, repeat, and internalize to reclaim our dignity:
    1. “Your looks are the least interesting thing about you.”
    2. “You are unrepeatable.”
    3. “You were created on purpose.”
    4. “You are desired for all eternity.”
Lillian actually just wrote a book joining her passion for fashion with a desire for everyone to know how much God loves them-and you can own that book! Check out Theology of Style: Expressing the Unique and Unrepeatable You ascensionpress.com/products/t...

Ladies, please don't disregard men's struggles with self-worth as well. While it's true that physical beauty is what society typically judges women on, men are judged by what they can offer and provide. So when a man struggles with this, he often feels like less of a man and worthless. We all struggle with recognizing our self-worth; let's all promise to be more compassionate with each other.

I appreciate your recognizing that men struggle with their own self worth issues too. You are right in men valuing their self worth on what they can offer and provide. Also, men don’t talk about body image as often as probably needs to be, but we suffer from body image issues too. Men are pressured by women to look like Jason Momoa or something, and by other men to be super strong. Men also feel conscious about their weight (too much or too little), and whether we have enough muscle mass too. The only body image difference between men and women probably is fat shaming. Men are less likely to fat shame each other than women are, however since double standards do exist, men will fat shame women. I’m not saying this sort of behavior is morally right, just my own experiences as a man amongst other men.

      @MorelHumor 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

@spacelinx I 100% agree. Men also doubt their self-worth based on their body image. Societal pressure to look a certain way may not be as overt as it is for women, but it exists nevertheless.

As I am getting ready for double mastectomy due to Breast Cancer diagnosis, thoughts of how different I will look after this did mess with me. However I rebuked any negative thoughts and thanked God for the science and medical solutions to our health problems, and I know even if I don’t look “perfect” to what others label as “perfect” or “good looking”, I know I will be good, because I have surrendered my illness to our Lord and he will restore me and my health! Thank you for this message! It was beautiful!

Even though it’s difficult I keep faith because I know God is real. I trust in you Father and keep faith even as I struggle to take care of my children. The past two years have been hard on me. I’m a single mom. I suffered an heart attack and I’m battling lupus. Both of my sons are autistic and to be honest Heavenly Father I’m so overwhelmed. I’m constantly struggling financially to buy groceries and struggling to pay my rent and now that I’m home schooling my sons I’m struggling to buy their school supplies. I want to give up. But even in hard times I know I must choose to have faith. No matter our struggle, we can turn to God. He knows us personally and can give us strength to overcome our challenges. Thank you, Lilian! I too struggle with looks and proving my worth. In fact, I feel like God is telling me there's no need to prove myself and I was really mad. I believed that I have to be a good girl to get love - I have to conform to the world. But I know it is a lie and I'm struggling to accept God's love. It's hard to understand that I don't need to seek attention from others and to fully accept God's love for me. As I'm still learning, I encourage others to keep praying for healing, come to adoration, spend time with the blessed sacrament, read the Holy Bible. "I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I know very well." Psalm 139:14

I love a woman's natural features not something that's fake or the opposite of natural. Ladies please don't let any man tell you, you need surgery to look like that or like this. Your natural beaty is what makes you special just the way you are. And the only man that is important in your life should be Jesus and he loves you just the way you are if he wanted to make you a certain way then he would have made you like that but he didn't. Cause he seen how perfect you already were. Idk i hope if your a woman reading this that it helps in some way as a brother in Christ.

I think the times I feel like I’m worth the least are when I get to know someone, I start to love them, I eventually trust them with all my heart, and then they give up on me because they find someone more interesting to them.
I just gave so much of myself for someone who called me her best friend, and then I moved back home once I was done with college. She basically told me my life didn’t matter and threatened to block me. I didn’t even reach out to her that much, I just wanted to talk one day and I guess she lashed out on me. I know it says more about her than it does me, but it just makes me sad that someone gave up on me when I would have NEVER given up on her.

@@Doris-jk4re Of course! You got this. Remember to stay humble. And remember what true humility is-don’t think less of yourself, but think of yourself less. In heartbreak, both people will probably see themselves as victims. When you understand that, it gets easier to forgive, so you can move on to trusting and hoping again. :D That’s great advice I could’ve used 7-10 months ago. If you want to leave more thoughts, I’ll definitely read them. No story of a broken heart is too long for me, trust me. I’d leave walls of comments all over TH-cam about my experience. 😂

The enamel on her upper incisors were worn down the the dentin underneath. I wanted to tell her: "I don't understand why you beat yourself up so much? You're beautiful just the way you are." I don't mind how I look like. I try to look others and do not judge their appearance.
But, I sometimes think that my value is to be there for others. Not exactly for those who are in need but for those who want me to do what they want and when I say that I want another thing, there's a conflict.
It's really hard to change this.

I know this struggle oh too well. I try to remind myself that God’s will supersedes whatever anyone else wants me to do. And sometimes He wants me to help and support others too! However, we cannot put their desire over God’s. Continue to lean on Him and pray that you can hear His voice and guidance on what you should do over the voice of other people. He knows the best for us ☺️✨
Yes, he can use others to minister to us, but we need to stay close to Him and build that relationship so we know if doing what they want is God’s desire. Overall, pray for discernment (I like Fr. Gallagher’s talks in TH-cam about this) and continue to ask God to grant you the grace to hear His voice.
I am working on this too so you’re not alone. I hope this helps 😊 God bless ❤️

I "know" that the 4 things you stated here are true.........but....believing them is something totally different. I'm a guy and i struggle with this every second of every day. i can see this in other people, but simply cannot see it in myself. I've been successful, provided, etc., but AM NOTHING SPECIAL. I'm not overly smart, talented, tall, or good looking. i just am.

Dear Lillian, thank you very much for your honest and deep content. I congratulate you for your videos! It also helps me, in my "Bad self-worth days", to remember that when I'm weak, God is strong; and that He is present in me and that He sees me as "beautiful beyond words" (Song of songs) just for who I am. He is so countercultural and passionate in choosing and loving us everyday!

    Couple od things:
    • Love the video, thank you for this amazing reminder❣️ I needed it. ❤️
    • Once I went to buy a shampoo and the lady in the shop tried to help me choose one that would best fit me, while all I wanted is a shampoo that smells nice and would keep my hair clean.
Funny thing was, they only sold shampoos like they usually do: for greasy, dry, broken, insert-an-almost-insult types of hair.
And I was like: “My hair’s ok. I just want to clean it.” 😂
    • I feel like we shouldn’t point out only the women/men who photoshop themselves or try to make themselves look more attractive on social media.
Some people truly look more attractive even without photoshop or a great camera angle with perfect makeup. And that is okay.
Instead, I think we should focus on everything else you mentioned in your video and accept ourselves the way that we are and the way God loves us, while focusing on what and Who truly matters (Him ❤️).

    Your nose is fine.
Regarding Q1; unmarried people care about how they look because they want to attract the most desirable mate possible. The pressure is harder on women because physical beauty is an almost universal sought for quality by men. Men, though concerned about their appearance too, focus more on their physical fitness as well as status signals like the car they drive or the clothes they wear because those cue women as to their ability to protect and provide for them and the children they create.
As any married man can tell you, a woman's concern over her appearance diminishes, sometimes disappears completely after she is married.
    You'll see.

Worth coming from how you look, or what you do, or in the eyes of the Lord, it doesn’t matter how you define it, I always seem to be unworthy. That probably explains how I am so utterly unable to feel God’s presence in my life. I’m not entirely sure this was the point behind the video, but it’s where my mind went when I saw this

I wanted to like this video, but it's hard to accept the "Looks aren't everything" message from a gorgeous young woman who clearly put a lot of effort into looking good for this video. I know I need to work on myself to get past these personal beliefs about myself, but it's really hard to take her seriously. With prayer hopefully I can overcome these negative thoughts, thanks for trying at least.😢

Hello. She started a video by saying that she experienced a lot of anxiety over her looks in the past and even considered plastic surgery - which was kind of difficult for me to believe since as a guy I can clearly see that Lillian is indeed an attractive woman. I guess that just shows how Satan can deceive each of us over the perception of our appearance, if we are not careful.
But Lillian’s appearance has nothing to do with the message she shares. You can’t build a lasting, meaningful relationship on the physical appearance alone - for starters, there will almost definitely be someone more attractive in the future, and it’s important to not allow that in any way affect your marriage; but also if you’re planning to live together until you’re old, then there will be time when beauty of youth is sadly gone (we live in a broken world) and you certainly don’t think that it would give the husband right for divorce. I’m not saying looks don’t matter, but I tend to agree with the message about it being the least interesting part in a woman.
