Thank you for caring. It put a smile on my face watching someone take the time and effort to restore a wonderful piece of wood working history. Power to you.
Thanks for your awesome comment and for watching. This one did turn out well, they are such beautiful old tools. If your interested in stanley drill restorations I have a video on the Stanley 624 hand drill which was my grandfather's. Cheers John
Very well done! I’ve always liked those style of egg beater drills. The casting Stanley designed back then was top notch. It looks fantastic, the bright paint pairs really well with the black, and you got those metal parts to a mirror shine! The wooden handles all turned out great, and the wood grain is beautiful. All around awesome job!!👍
Thanks for your comments and support mate, really appreciated!! I was most impressed with the timber handles, that beautiful wood hiding behind brown paint for all those years.
Those are pretty basic drills. Stanley didn't have good fancy egg beater drills until they obtained North Brothers Manufacturing who had some really wonderful and beautifully designed drills very early on including all the Yankee screwdrivers. I use all my manual hand drills for screwdrivers and nut drivers more than anything else. 😃
Great stuff. I’ve just recently freshened up a Stanley 805 that was given to me by an elderly friend. Simple pleasure using old tools.
