Correction: In the video I said there are no adjustments for the rear bench recline. That’s not correct - there are two different adjustment stages. Apologies.
Sat in one at a dealer the other day, it presents significantly better than any of the Chery/MG/GWM stuff in my opinion. Build quality and just general cabin ambience is a lot nicer in this and the design works well in person
Another great review as usual, mate. Pretty solid bang for buck, albeit a little bit undergunned but the interior looks pretty schmick for the price point
Does seem like a better thing than some of the detritus that's out there at the moment... Looks like the result of a 3 way between a Jeep, a Discovery and an Audi but not a bad looking jigger overall apart from the rear end not being symmetrical. Makes my eye twitch!
Ditch the bonnet handles and fake spare wheel hump and handle and it’s a decent little jigger I reckon (but needs a larger engine). Sister got the current rexton when it hit NZ and other than a jiggly ride it’s fine…and I reckon this would be a better pick for her. For years until recently I’ve only owned Germans and while people complain about Chinese/korean built qaulity…have you ever owned an Audi or VW out of warranty ?
The money saving, pretend economy, small car engine in the much bigger and heavier SUV thing will never appeal to me. But I guess it appeals to someone.

I don't think so, nearly everyone seems to have bias with Chinese cars but please be objective if you are an adult....
@ this isn’t Chinese. Ssangyong is Korean
@@alexanderchiang6801I agree with him, I would rather buy an 2nd hand Japanese or Korean built one than buying a brand new Chinese one.
@@limelight777yeh a 2nd hand Korean car sounds like a plan until the eng may potentially shit itself and then the battle with Hyundai begins
@@robertceroli3512 heard the same thing about second hand kia/hyundai 1/6 turbos, its WHEN not IF the second hand car goes bye bye.
I love that blue spare wheel!! 😍💙
I like your detailed car reviews.
Thanks! 👍

I can say for the first time i dont mind/ like the looks of a/this SsangYong.
Are we gonna see your take on the Shark 6 anytime soon? Yours and John Cadogan's findings are the only reliable sources right now.
@@bernieadam1985 Thanks. Will do asap.
1.5L turbo with 2T (unladen) really isn't a great idea unless you never leave 60kph suburbia.

@@mahcooharper9577 Lol yes. If it had a spare on the back that would be cool I reckon.
Looks heaps better then most of these tacky little suv's on the road. Too bad it doesn't have a hybrid option
I wonder which is bigger, this steering wheel or a VE Commodore one. because those VE ones were really big. 😅
451 messages? Bloody hell.
Those 'Audi R8-esque' designed C-pillars must be awful for over shoulder visibility..
That’s what mirrors are for
saw heaps of these in nz

@@angusnz7910 Yes, agree. A 2.0T would be better, or even a 1.8T.
goes ok
all about price
Feels like Hyundai is ripping Australians off with their prices.
I least like to see the cluster movement very laggy or with the motion of breaking this also applies to the ev version of this car, pretty bad
32k is the right value

How many times has SsangYong had a rebrand, didn’t realise they got taken over by KGM till last week.
Finally back Korean hands..... And again back to Korea lol
