- Barry Welsh is Coming (ITV)
Hugh Pugh is a reporter in Fishguard in West Wales, and his reports are constantly in black and white (though he has briefly appeared in colour). It is explained that Fishguard itself is in black and white because it is behind the rest of [Wales]. The news reports are made to match old news reels to accommodate John Sparkes' jokes. Hugh Pugh holds an old-fashioned microphone in one hand, but is always holding the lead's plug in the other.
News reports made by Pugh include the controversial "My Little Fanny" suicide doll and the new cuisine at St.Sardines Hospital where pioneering chef Lloyd Gros serves patients their own organs.
The best comedy ever.... I just laugh so much at Hugh Pugh... Brilliant character.
Well underrated comedian
John Sparkes an absolute genius. Thanks for watching.

I was a huge Absolutely fan, but missed this first time round. What a great compilation. I’ve laughed out loud constantly watching this! John Sparks what a star! Brilliant humour!
I remember it on TV years ago - Great comedian i really wish they would re run it. The only place i can find originals is in the Wales Video Archive. Shame really.
My dad and I literally cry laughing at Barry welsh, bloody hilarious welsh humour 😂
The guy is a legend.
Oh my God, this is hilarious!! I have been a fan Siadwell since 1987 but I have never seen this before but I am aching with laughter!!
Thanks for watching, it's just a compilation of the best bits that i could find online, wish i could find more.
the Archives Barry Welsh is a fcukin star.. Hugh Pugh the Reporter and Chadwell i never laughed so much back then
Wasn't it shadwell?
The vast majority of content in Absolutely was good, but the sketches that John obviously had his fingers all over made a decent show into a great one. I live in a post-industrial apocalyptic cesspit with a nice view and a population that hates the English, but it's the Scotch sort rather than the Welsh. This means that all these John Sparkes shows were aired on Welsh telly and I was up here with that appalling Still Game on my telly instead. Thank goodness for TH-cam, who very kindly host all sorts of copyrighted content such as this because they're too busy banning content creators who said something 10yrs ago that's against a rule they introduced last Tuesday.
100% in agreement with you. I only wish i could have found more footage from the shows. Apparently all the episodes are stored in the National Library of Wales archives. Thank you for watching.
@@PsychoSausage Do you have the video files for these? Would love to have the originals (avi/mkv/mp4 video files) rather than what I grabbed from here, because TH-cam re-encode what is uploaded and this lowers the quality. Would be happy to swap for some goodies. Have about 6TB of "stuff" in my collection. And Merry Christmas to you.
@@showbizsam4440 Unfortunately not, this compilation is just what i managed to find online.
@@showbizsam4440 Unfortunately i don't - all the video used was pulled from youtube anyway but just re-encoded with the same aspect ratio and B+W filter to try and clean them up a little.
The dentist sketch though......how the fvck did he not crack up 😂😂💦💦
Brilliant. I used to love the Department Denzil and Aneurin Anus sketches - where the hell he dreamt these things up i don't know but so funny back in the day. Probably can't even show some of it these days.
Land of my Fathers? My fathers can have it! (Dylan Thomas)
Dylan Thomas never said those words as you imply. But it's often misquoted by the ignorant. A cantankerous and unpleasant character called Owen Morgan Vaughn from his screen play -
" Three Weird Sisters" . This quote is then used by the London press to suggest Dylan hated Wales, another false English invention.
This might be the last funny show HTV Wales ever did
100% agree.
Have you got the video about sheep on the rampage my house was in it
I will certainly look for it I thought it may be somewhere in this compilation 100% I will upload it if I can thanks for watching
question do you own a copy of kissing concrete?
1:26:44 hilarious
Silly bloody Welsh humor, but great. Thanks for watching and your comment.
