  • St Jean Pied de port to Roncevaux took us just over 7 hours not including breaks, this is probably the hardest climb of the camino and a bit of training is needed for this, The trail tips along nicely with a few small hill nothing to worry about their, when you leave France and enter spain its a gradual incline from here ,mostly by road, this can get a bit monotonous so they then bring you off road 2 or three times through forests and down to the rivers which is lovely until you have to hike back up to the road, if your not eager for this you can still stay on the road and reach the same destination.you last stop for provisions is VALCARLOS and you will need them for the last 4..5k its all up hill for here, we did this at the end of march 2024 and it was very slippery and muddy, hopefully 🤞 its a lot dryer for you hopes this helps, you should reach a height of roughly 1050 meters bien Camino.
