Thank you for sharing these videos. Especially for the respectful way in which you've done it. So difficult to understand how some humans can be so cruel. At the end of the war my Grandfather was sent with many other British soldiers to clear camps like these. He never spoke about it until very late in his life. I can't imagine what they experienced. My health stops me from riding so far these days so thank you once again for sharing this as I doubt I'll get to ride there and see thus for myself. Your videos get better and better 👏👏👏👏

As for your observations about the youthful innocence of the German guards, as someone once said….”The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”. The uncomfortable reality is that evil isn’t buried deep within us out of harms way, it broods and festers just below the surface, waiting for a simple scratch to find its way to the surface!

I'm an American, and when I was stationed in Germany during the early 80s during the cold war I went to Dachau, which was close to Munich. When I left there I was changed and felt so sick. It was so incomprehensible to me that humans could be so cruel to one another.

I had a bike that had a wobble in the handlebars like yours. It was the amount of luggage on the back, panniers etc. just my 2 Pennie’s worth

Gets really busy during the summer and the weather calms down from the high 30s to bout 10C and obviously a little splash of rain In all honesty good time to go, scenery is stunning I think the pair of you would love it hopefully getting bit of good weather helps 👍👍🏴

Hey Eddie, Bikes are going good, The Twins are fantastic machines for touring, when we are back perhaps we will do a summary of the trip and talk about them some more and what we did to them along the way. I guess we can begin to take our faithful steeds for granted when we are on them each day

Rich, regarding the no hands handlebar wobble, try it without the top box fitted. My Fazer and a pals FJ both do that when a top box is fitted. Have known about it for years and it’s never been a problem. Just a thought. Excellent episodes in Poland, every day’s a school day, no matter how sombre. Can’t imagine anyone visiting any of the camps nowadays, to not be quite deeply affected by what they’ve seen.
Il try and remove the box and see what happens, the bike does have allot of weight on the back, id like to get some soft side panniers to get the weight lower if possible soon, Something like the Reckless 80 by Mosko but a cheaper version lol

@@ontheroadadventure A cheap but functional equivalent would be those made by Rhinowalk. I've got one of their Kriega copies, which certainly does the job without the accompanying pain on the wallet. It is difficult living off the bike. You want to keep the weight down, but also want to be self sufficient, which means you need "stuff".😁
I tried those rhino walk soft bags, the problem with them is you adjust all the straps so it sits on tight to the bike, but then when you remove a item from one side it creates slack and now you need to constantly adjust and re adjust all the straps. The ones with a harness stay put on the bike no matter how full or empty the bags it carries. The Best alternative i have seen is Touratech Discovery 2 which are half the price but £400 on bags to carry ya pants is always a hard pill to swallow lol
The murdering sh*** even ripped out the poor souls gold teeth. I remember on a tech update I had to do when I worked for a German company in the factory canteen I asked how this murderous regime could have done this without anyone raising a complaint, but there was just silence. Perhaps I should have kept quiet.

The way you alluded to the pictures of the Germans being young lads, that were just as scared and following orders, is probably true of the standard German soldier. But probably not in regard to members of the SS. They were pretty fanatical.
I think you are right on this, it seems those trained for the SS were brainwashed enough to really believe in what they were doing at the time.... Its just impossible to imagine that kind of thinking
