Wow 😯. I was a click away from going with GoDaddy. Thank you so much for this honest review. The big marketing bulldozers just about got me. Your video came up first in my search to try and find out if I need web hosting with my domain. I have no idea what web hosting is or what it’s for. If it’s necessary or not. But I’m very, very glad this video came up and I watched it first. 👍🏼
Hey friend - I'm officially leaving GoDaddy, they screwed me around enough today was the last straw. I need to transfer my hosting and domain, and considering Hostinger, SiteGround, Namecheap and HostGator. Do you have a recommended? I'm leaning towards Hostinger from what I'm reading. Thanks for your help
Yeah Hostinger is good option and they have affordable pricing. If you want the premium service then go with Siteground. I would skip hostgator, pretty much same as godaddy. I haven't tried namecheap hosting, but I do buy most of my domains from them.
I wish I had seen this a year ago. They also have to the worst customer service if you actually have an issue. So I’m going with a different company. Thank you for the suggestions 🙂
I have long said what you said here on this video about GoDaddy. Support often treats support questions as an upsell opportunity when I just want a question answered. I get that in a way, they are in business to make money, but I always manage to solve my issues with some needed information.
Your videos have helped me in the past but I never comment ever, so cheers! You made me comment. And about the video, I think so too but I never really paid attention to it until I saw this. You are absolutely correct.
It's a pity that I always buy something first and then check on TH-cam and listen to your story. Absolutely right! Thank you. I'll pay a bit more attention next time. :P
Yeah bro i agree on what you said but hostinger doesn't have a good customer care support right ? Can you suggest any other where services are more , user & budget friendly? 🙏🙂
I've needed their support for a few times and they seem to be able to help. I don't know any other budget friendly options as I haven't used them. But sometimes you can get a really good discount for first year / few years. Just need to catch it whenever they are running it.
I have just purchased a domain on GoDaddy and watching your video after having purchased it. Should I be worried ? If ai transfer it next year will I have to pay extra for it on top of renewal cost ?
Thank you for sharing this video because I'm currently facing a problem signing in and accessing my domains and I still need help. Now I feel like I might never have access to my domain that I already purchased. it's discouraging and I'm planning on leaving them completely. If they want to they can keep the domains
Should I buy the domain for 5 years or should I start with buying it for 1 year, and then renewing it when it expires, or do I have to pay a fee if I renew it?
a bit late reply. But no fees. Sometimes registrars give you small discount if you take for many years. Personally I just renew them every year with auto renewal
What you have brought to light is not about functionality. While I agree with you 100%, the main concerns with building a new website is ease of use, SEO, etc... Yes, they are a shady business but what they also do is make it easy for someone with limited tech skills. Thank you for the video and keep fighting the good fight!
Hi, I'm paying $10.95 a mouth for Website Security Essential with Godaddy, do I ready need that or does another hosting site offer a better deal? Thanks
well they are useful features, but good hosting providers should have that be default (maybe not the malware scanningbut the firewall & SSL for sure) . For example siteground & hostpapa have these by default.www.hostpapa.com/web-hosting-plan/#comparison-chart & www.godaddy.com/en-au/web-security/website-security
I agree with your comments, exactlly my thinking! I did just transfered my domain , Godaddy was in a Beta form but it went well, I am waiting for completion of transfer said to be 5 days? well, we will see! may thanks for the video!
I recently bought domain from godaddy... Just domain for a year... So what u suggest should I blackout.. Or should I just wait for a year and then discontinue.. And what's the procedure of backing out?
You already bought it, you could wait until closer to the end. Transferring domain is straightforward, it just has many steps, which I show in this video: th-cam.com/video/9Ofq5uxVZao/w-d-xo.html
Is there a way to connect custom domain to wix site without upgrading wix to premium. I’m asking this because going through this process is not cost effective…
The 1 cent is what the domain name is worth. The $20 is the $1 you would be paying a month for the domain name. They do a pretty cool thing where if you buy it for longer you get it for cheaper.

For domains check namecheap & for web hosting hostinger
@tipswithpunch What can you suggest? Taking the hostinger with free 1yr domain or get domain in Namecheap instead?
So i bought my domain from goddady, i can keep it and use it elsewhere ?
Yes, you can! Just buy the hosting somewhere else, you can always point your domain name to that web host.
I agree, it shows it's the worst company policy, customer support ever.
