How can you not thoroughly enjoy Richard and his uncomfortableness with the world.
What time of year did they go to Venice? I've only been once and I couldn't imagine wearing a jacket in that weather.

I've been in Venice this New Years and the weather was pleasant. It was about 10°C and sunny. Quite enjoyable, mostly because it didn't stink as much as it does in the warmer months.
This fancy hotel you and Joe stayed at was there no lifts 🛗 or porters/bellboys to help you lug your luggage 🧳 ???
