As an American native New Yorker with asperger's - I am addicted to British sitcoms and panel shows and Richard is by far my favorite presenter. I also travel, both for business and also because my family demands I take them on vacation annually. Richard is the only celebrity alive who can illustrate both my childlike joy and simultaneous awkward discomfort in public surroundings- for that he is a true national treasure, and dare I say, deserves a knighthood for bringing our two countries together even more than Thatcher.
The sight of Richard's hair coming out flat on top after spending too much time in the rather warm Mmuseumm literally made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe! His irate manner totally sealed it for me. XD
Oh me too. Flat haired trapped in a neon box like he was in a diorama. Bug eyed and glistening. God he’s brave and hilarious😂. He so understands the excruciating agony of the normalised introvert 😂❤
LOL! I lived in LA for many years and sometimes would see an actor I liked so much that they felt like a friend and I was like "HEY, HI!" and then realized they had no idea who I was!
Richard and Rhod playing domino's was far more exhilarating than I ever imagined it could be. I'm originally from the Miami area. The Cuban community is one of the best things about it.
That bar with the show tunes is solid evidence that humans are vastly different. I can't imagine how someone would enjoy that, but they were clearly having a good time.
All of my friends at university majored in something pertaining to theater, and my niece makes a living working on Broadway & teaching stage combat at NYU. Trust me, theater folk live for this type of thing.
Watching Richard learn to skate gave me so much life. And I have to wonder how they talk him into these things. And the way his hair stays flat after the museum... I can't stop laughing
I feel like often when Richard makes digs on their travels and condescending remarks they either cut it out or he genuinely doesnt get a response. In NYC, they were so fast to rebut. He couldnt even cut it out lmaooo. "Sumn 's betta n nuttin". God I love Joel.
Given the uniqueness of his personality (and tenure in the business), I wonder how much input Richard Ayoade himself gets in all the VO narration in these. because after I watched all the episodes of "British As Folk", another travelogue just still being within the UK, I got to ask the featured Fern Brady that same question for hers, and her and the other two comics she was with got a little, but not much more
Rhod and Richard in Miami ❤️170 pounds for a two person Everglades tour? You got fleeced. Also try playing Dominoes with Jamaicans if you want a real rush! I want to see that whole episode
Richard is me on trips. Not really wanting to go anywhere and mostly loathing the experience of human interaction outside of a few people I'm comfortable. His lady companion is beautiful as we're her dresses.
Things to do in florida: Swim, Surf, Scuba Dive, Jet ski, parasail, dance, eat cuban food, eat crock, eat bbq, disney world, etc. Things they did: dominoes.
I hate the idea of an express tour like that, but if you only have a half-hour in your itinerary (maybe you're only in town for a business meeting, you have an hour for a lunch tour, something like that), I can see a place for a guy like him. The warm-up is probably important too because they need to hurry.
The Teddy Bear was first exhibited at a fair in Leipzig in 1903. From there it was taken by a businessman to America. So the birthplace of the teddy bear is not America or New York but in Germany by the well-known company Steiff.
I think it's comparable to, say, a British TV presenter speaking about "Union Pacific Railroad". It's a name (pseudonym), the pronunciation is basically part of the name.
How to say you’ve only ever been to Berlin without saying you’ve only ever been to Berlin: rank the NYC subway over public transportation in “Germany”, the entire large federal nation.

And that he had to wear the bucket hat after because of it
I’m so glad someone else noticed this. I am still laughing about it and will likely come back from time to time to laugh again.
Oh me too. Flat haired trapped in a neon box like he was in a diorama. Bug eyed and glistening. God he’s brave and hilarious😂. He so understands the excruciating agony of the normalised introvert 😂❤
Die laughing!
Mate... this had me dying! It was so funny
I sometimes think "I'd like to meet Richard", then I realize I'd be making him meet a stranger and that he would hate that.
LOL! I lived in LA for many years and sometimes would see an actor I liked so much that they felt like a friend and I was like "HEY, HI!" and then realized they had no idea who I was!
😢😂
Katherine's wardrobe is always amazing. Loved the New York episode when it aired.
tell me about it!
Her clothes seem like a very descriptive book jacket. Excellent!
She’s the worst
Annoying personality
13:28 I just love how Richards hair stays flat after stepping out the elevator🤣🤣🤣
The best... 😃😄😆
I noticed that too, lol!
I came here immediately to comment on that and I'm glad it was already noticed 😭😭😭
Richard and Rhod playing domino's was far more exhilarating than I ever imagined it could be. I'm originally from the Miami area. The Cuban community is one of the best things about it.
"I feel like a retired Dalek."
Lolz. I love this show.
I love how he narrates his insecurity...lol 😆 hilarious
Richard's hair when disembarking the small museum!
kudos to the tour guide for nailing the tone of travelman
No words can adequately express how much joy your travel shows bring. Best sense of humour ever. Thank you Richard! 😂
That bar with the show tunes is solid evidence that humans are vastly different. I can't imagine how someone would enjoy that, but they were clearly having a good time.
I'm usually VERY against audience participation but this genuinely looks fun. I am also obsessed with musicals so that may be a contributing factor.
It definitely seems to me a much better version of public social singing than karaoke.
All of my friends at university majored in something pertaining to theater, and my niece makes a living working on Broadway & teaching stage combat at NYU. Trust me, theater folk live for this type of thing.
20:13 drifting across exit lane: "You're in very safe hands with me."
I love that the ceiling flattened his hair in the tiny mmuseum
I love that mmuseum levelled Richard’s hair
I adore this man
Watching Richard learn to skate gave me so much life. And I have to wonder how they talk him into these things. And the way his hair stays flat after the museum... I can't stop laughing
I’m here ,but should I have come. I just love this show .
That red dress! Glorious :)
lmaooooooo the best part of this is Richard in that tiny museum and since he was too tall the top of his hair flattened because of the ceiling
I feel like Richard and David Mitchell are my spirit animal when it comes to human interactions. RIP me lol.
20:48 Was just about to say they made me think of a British version of Miami Vice... just needs Matt Berry to play Castillo...
I feel like a retired Dalek. Perfect line.
I feel like often when Richard makes digs on their travels and condescending remarks they either cut it out or he genuinely doesnt get a response. In NYC, they were so fast to rebut. He couldnt even cut it out lmaooo. "Sumn 's betta n nuttin". God I love Joel.
I think NYC is like Glasgow that way, rudeness as a form of affection. I've never been to NYC, but that's how I see it portrayed.
Omg iam rolling with laughter, his hair after that little museum 😂😂😂
Thank you for these much appreciated compilations! It's been a joy to re-watch. Mad to think these were all pre-Covid...not a mask in sight.
I’ve not seen a mask for probably 6 months at this point. Glad things are finally back to normal.
23:03 This should definitely be on the next "When Trash talking goes wrong" compilation.
Every American who saw this being filmed must’ve thought it was just the worst first date ever
America is happy Britain has kept her for this long. Please take her back after taping the show.
She's Canadian
„I feel like a retired Dalek” I love it, never has there been a more british comparison 😂 (says a non-brit)
Even though I'm a Yank, I still love Rhod and am glad that he's doing better.
Please make a new series.
Why? They can just re-edit this material for years mate.
@@klarkolofsson A new C4 series, with new destinations.
15:42 what’s the colour palette of his shirt?!! Its lovely

Marie's Crisis Cafe is my own personal hell.
He truly enjoyed dominoes
6:09 The line of the series 😂
I do remember the H&M logo well when i was on the top of the rock
Katherine's outfits are sublime. She really smashed the Americana look
Richard's hair after the Mmuseumm 😂
i love her outfits!!
3:15 I'm pretty sure that museum tour guide is well aware that it sounds extremely like he's saying "so first we go down on you..."
"We go down on mu..." Do mu have a dirty mind? ;-)
13:34 lmao look at his hair
20:05 Rhod getting on Ayoade for driving in the left lane. God bless him.
0:03 - The answer is always yes - it was your job to do so.
I wonder how many of the people in the Bar had watched the IT crowd
The glorious thing about NYC is, even if it had been everyone, nobody would have fawned over him. Unless they were tourists.
Went to wynwood. Its no place for a welshman 😂 good burgers though
13:29 his hair haha
"The Credible Melting Man' was right there for the grabbing.
Just the concept of Rhod Gilbert in Miami is funny. I don't appreciate the flip flops though, even in Miami.
The incredible melting man reference is fantastic. One of the best worst movies ever made
it says "celeb mates" but it's just Katherine Ryan 💀
Katherine Ryan one ends at 14:11 for those looking to scrub ahead.
Thank you!
Kathryn Ryan is so elegant and beautiful and her personality always make me grin like an idiot , everything about her is captivating
This guy is brilliant.
I haven't seen him since that show about 2 computer guys aired.
What was IT called ?
wish i coulda ran into richard when hes filming XDD
I totally assume that Katherine Ryan knows about ‘air rights’ because she’s a fan of the 2010 masterpiece “Burlesque”.
I thought the same! :D
I miss Richard in my bones.
Oh dude! Welcome to New York! Western NY has excellent wine trails! West of Buffalo, far far away, but well worth it... Westfield NY specifically
You are the most half Norwegian person I’ve ever encountered, aside from myself. 🍻
#bringbackrichard
He quit because he really dislikes travelling.
Why the hate for Katherine Ryan in this comment section?? She’s funny and dresses well. Haters be damned
Richard just berating that mmuseumm lady about the absurd heat, had me dying hehehe
Rhod and Richard in Miami ❤️170 pounds for a two person Everglades tour? You got fleeced. Also try playing Dominoes with Jamaicans if you want a real rush! I want to see that whole episode
I wonder if the price for the Everglades tour included the camera crew, or extra cost for an air boat with enough room to accommodate them?
Ah! Those wonderful days when Katherine was the undisputed queen of the a-line dress.
Is she not any more?
@@nointro I don't see her wearing them so much anymore.
I don't know what an A-line dress is, but was that her red dress? She looked spectacular in that one! 🙂
there's no way Joe Lycett will be as good a Richard. Show should've ended when Richard decided to stop doing it
Lava...I almost pissed myself
Richard is me on trips. Not really wanting to go anywhere and mostly loathing the experience of human interaction outside of a few people I'm comfortable.
His lady companion is beautiful as we're her dresses.
air space rights has to do with day light at ground level and not 'view' preservation.
Things to do in florida: Swim, Surf, Scuba Dive, Jet ski, parasail, dance, eat cuban food, eat crock, eat bbq, disney world, etc.
Things they did: dominoes.
5:13
6:50 enjoying the pretentious laughter
I desperately wanted to hate the Met Tour Guide guy, but after he left I felt something missing...
I hate the idea of an express tour like that, but if you only have a half-hour in your itinerary (maybe you're only in town for a business meeting, you have an hour for a lunch tour, something like that), I can see a place for a guy like him. "Spiritual inflexibility"...my everyday life
Does anyone know if Travel Man ever did a Ukrainian city break?
No I don’t think so, but I hope they do in the future once Putin is defeated.
No, although they went to E Europe a few times.
Yea I don't blame Richard's discomfort in that singing bar. That's a big NOPE for me.
Of course he took the pale Welsh man to Miami, only way that would be better is if it was Greg Davies.
The Teddy Bear was first exhibited at a fair in Leipzig in 1903. From there it was taken by a businessman to America. So the birthplace of the teddy bear is not America or New York but in Germany by the well-known company Steiff.
BBC needs to snatch him up and make him the next Doctor on Dr Who.
17:23 Those eyes are gorgeous.
Wait...Richard said Jay-Zee? Not Jay-Zed? We solved it, people.
I think it's comparable to, say, a British TV presenter speaking about "Union Pacific Railroad".
It's a name (pseudonym), the pronunciation is basically part of the name.
@@beth12svist Yeah, respect for a person's identity is probably important to him. He's clever with his digs, but he never gets disrespectful.
How to say you’ve only ever been to Berlin without saying you’ve only ever been to Berlin: rank the NYC subway over public transportation in “Germany”, the entire large federal nation.
alicia keys did in fact assure you of that
The New York subway just had a shooter/terrorist today. Not sure what the human toll was
LIES! The teddy bear was created in Colorado!
25$ to use an elevator?
I want to have Kathrine's baby. luv luv
that looks like a very expensive woman.
How did all that European (ancient) art end up in fucking America?
Money money money.
Why arnt you mad at the British Museum, their collection is more notorious. 😆
@@known_film4081 EXACTLY.
Boat
Katherine Ryan..... she gets more stunning every time i see her
Richards is supposed to be a commedian but he hides it well.
He likes to hide it from small minded people who don’t deserve to understand his comedy. I’d hate to be a person like that. Sounds miserable.
You get jetlag when going the OTHER way.
TBH the constamt quips get a bit tiresome after a while
just not funny
Neither are you Jim
I was going to watch this until I saw Kathryn Ryan was in it.
I hate this. Pointless travelling. It's the destination not the journey that matters.
SHAMEFUL BRINGING TRUMP INTO THE EQUATION!!!! Other than that, LOVE THE BIG APPLE and your tour!
That woman is uncomfortable to look at. That face man.
