- You’ve seen our dear friend Alex Bernstein on the channel before - part of the grip brigade, Global Time Attack crew. Alex has gone through many modified cars in his day, many of them BMWs. And this 135i might be the ultimate build he’s done to date. Super clean, yet super functional, this is no 1M clone. It’s a 600hp track ripper that can click off a 1:52 at Buttonwillow CW13, while being nice enough to take to dinner the same night.

I’m a factory trained BMW Tech and the 135i is under appreciated. The 135i can be at the heels of a E92 M3 all day. The N54 is a good platform for sure.
Just as long as you do proper maintenance and upgrade all the cheap plastic parts to aluminum. Only downside is if you aren't working on it yourself, it's going to cost a good amount to have repaired but definitely a great platform!!

@nesticles8029 I got homies with a 128 and its actually a great car underlooked,I own a fbo stage 2+ 135i and saw builds that really blow your mind.its worth it

This man gets it.... single exit exhaust, performs better, looks better and is cheaper than a multi poo-shooter. Good man.

A lot of people hate on the 135 bodystyle, but I love it. It looks way better than the E92 and E93. The 135 was born to be a 2-door. The E92 looks like they just stretched the door.
I loved it enough to buy one, then I wanted something else more sporty, then I totalled it and now I look again at these and seriously consider buying one again, these cars just feel good, big just enough when you sit inside everything is where it should be.

How's reliability on those? This guy trades me his 135 M Sport for my Mk7 GTI. The only reason I wouldn't do it is reliability.
@@renenemj1 beyond the common n54 issues, water pump, Watergate, etc, 135i are generally solid. Your GTI will certainly have lower mainenace cost over time, but I feel the fun factor is higher with the 135i. I've driver both, and own the 1er.

@@renenemj1 if you can work on it yourself it’s definitely a project but I daily drive a n54 135i and it’s not that bad. If you can’t work on it yourself walk away.

The 135 is sooooo cool. I predict these cars will not only hold their value, but get more expensive with time. Personally, I have a 128, and only bought it cause the price was really good. But even that car sent me straight down the BMW rabbit hole. It's not super fast, but it is super balanced and well rounded. The weight distribution is on point, and you can feel it the first time you drive it. I can only imagine what the 135 is like. Will be my next car.

Sick 135i! This is what I had envisioned when I was shopping for one. I really wanted a e82 and almost bought a manual titanium silver 135i, but decided I wasn't quite done saving up. I ended up buying a 2JZ single turbo swapped IS200 instead sometime later on.
Eventually got a manual built n55 e92 LCI on port WMI with the same turbo setup as this. Without the fuel limit it made 758 horsepower with I think WMI + 102 octane, done by previous owner. I wanted WMI + pump (no 102 here) so I was redoing tunes when it broke shortly after purchase.
Unfortunately it's been standing for 2 years now with probably (hopefully) a blown head gasket. It's losing oil and coolant fast and has a rough idle. Hoping to fix it this winter, but I also want to swap the gearbox in my IS. 😬Seeing this E82 makes me wish I had gotten a 1 series it's gorgeous.😍 And people know it, the e82 even without a 6 cylinder is way more expensive than the other e8x here. Wish there were nice E82 bodykits available but the 1M kit just looks perfect. Screw it being a "fake" 1M it ends up being the same thing for less money with upgrades going beyond the 1M, this is the way.
Is this MHD tuned? Where did you get this done? My e-tuner in germany is very poor in communicating and will probably charge me for further tuning since it's been 2 years. I was thinking about going to Twisted Tuning for my maps instead if my current tuner charges again. Unsure if adding JB4 will be worth the trouble.

I’ve always wanted a 1M, but considering it never depreciated, and appreciated from day 1, it’s just became unattainable at this stage in my life 😭
@Jace's Own World Ayy Thicc Wipes on TH-cam basically built his own 1M clone out of a 135i, and when this video came out I was wishing and hoping for my 1st bmw with my clapped out 08 M35. Now I have that and an 07 e90 335i along with a family of 4 total. It's possibly if you really want it so don't doubt yourself!!
Larry's got all these really good friends and I'm just happy to have shared a hotel room with him one time, a decade ago, lol.

It was kind of surreal walking through the convention center with him, because these Formula D drivers would be flagging him down making the people in line to get autographs wait while they talked to Larry. Was kind of like walking around with a rockstar, lol.

ive always seen the 135i as more of a duck tail spoiler car, it kinda matches the small stature, but the car looks good with the big single wing.

CIC nav’s can be updated to CarPlay, can output MHD data and other monitoring apps. No nav screen makes it look old school though.

135i is legit and they're not clapped out with bolt ons like every 335i coupe. the prices are rising for sure. i've owned one for two years now and it's getting hard to find a nice one for 10k.

Actually Turner Motorsports and Nelson racing (I Think) make a duct that redirects air to the Hot side for hotside intakes on stock style turbos or single swaps, i have one in my e90 335i

fyi the S65 M3 engine is based from the E60's S85 V10, which was taken from their formula 1 car and "detuned" for the street. Thats why they sound amazing and rev to 9K. also the N54 would win in a drag race tbh lol

Vinny E92?!? I might have the double (triple) hump, but I do have one of the frozen white versions... Last year of the E92 they came frozen in red, white and blue to the US. Something around 75 for the red and blue versions and 150 of the white.

LOL! I had two Honda PC800s. You couldn't ask for a more non-assuming bike. They had exhaust systems that you could run while eating pancakes in the kitchen with grandma. But what I forgot, is that all that energy gets out there somehow. We--not Grandma, a friend of mine--toured the U.S. and Canada, 10,000 miles, and when we got into a tunnel here and there, WHAM! You could hear all 800ccs multiplied by tunnel! How fun is that...

There is a small benefit that the N54 has over the B58 and that's that the N54 is less of an over square than the B58 and is more like the S58 in that way. Should help with revving.
Also, Larry compared the exhaust sound to breaking wind. 😂
regarding the dash "humps", BMW actually refers to them as single and double "scoop".

So nice to see my car with so nice spec. E82 with the OG N54 are king. I hope that I can realize a 1erM conversion in the near future. Technically, as optically. I just love this car. 400 - 450 hp is the perfect power for tracks. unfortunately you have to convert the barrel bearings and all bearings to PU. otherwise the car swims incredibly strong in performance. Injectors and pumps are a well-known disease.

This one sounds amazing 😍 And I just let a 135i go cause I cheeped out. What does a 2010 M package with around 80k miles go for in the States? In Sweden there about 20-25k$.
14k-20k. They're hard to find with less than 90k miles. I got mine with 92k miles for 12k, but maintenance was always kept up. I'm at 106k miles with tune and runs like a dream
