It seems that the great J.S. Bach admired his cousin Johann Cristoph Bach very much as a componist. Well now I know why, what a beautiful, heartbreaking aria!
The greatest piece by the greatest composer of the Bach family "before Bach". In this performance, I particularly like the convincing way Christopher Lowrey embellishes the da capo part.
Always thought J.S. Bach's son , J.C. , was not as profound a composer as his father; ..... but this piece proves, if not quite his greatness, at least his position as a worthy successor.
I don't even know how to express how deeply moved I am by this, nor how impressed with the skill and devotion of the players, not my gratitude for their efforts. I may just make another donation. ;-)
Great Group.
One of your best.
Thank so much!
Sublime, sublime, sublime

this touches the soul
Thank you.
Overwhelmingly beautiful...
This is so beautiful

Lament
O, that I had water enough in my head
and my eyes were wells of tears,
so that night and day I could lament my sins.
My sins overwhelm me; Like a heavy burden,
they have become too painful and so I weep, and my eyes flow with water.
My sighs are many; my heart is afflicted:
Thus the Lord has made me full of lamentations in this day of his terrible wrath.

I am astounded by this soloist, and the beautiful performances of the musicians complement him wonderfully. What a piece!
Thank you.
The "profound composer" indeed. Stunningly beautiful music and performance. Thank you.
Tellement bien interpréter !
This beautiful performance is 1/2 tone lower than another one that I also love.
Absolutely amazing; you guys never fail to deliver:)

This is actually Bach's uncle!

+Tyrion Lannister Thank you so much!
So well done.
Ongelooflijk mooi.
Echt prachtig inderdaad.
Profound and gorgeous.
Gorgeous performance.
Usually enjoy a Bach piece and always one from the Voices.
Heh, I hear Voices in the middle of the night. That doesn't sound so good. :)
What I love about Christopher's voice is it's very much a mans voice. I am a huge fan Alexander King
It's not falsetto. It's head voice
Wunderschoen!!
beautiful
Absolutely amazing!🤗👏👏👏❤️
