I think if SNES had more years to shine Rareware wolud made the Project Treasure with Donkey Kong Graphics and not one DKC 4, and with all of this we would lose Banjo-Kazzoie because Banjo came from that canceled RPG game

man i wish this were officially licensed. this is one of the coolest levels ever. the concept of all the underground channels is clever. and this is the best music i have heard so far.
+ Having platform challenges that don't punish you severely at the start for failing is good for beginning stages and explaining new mechanics. - It's hard to tell which spots are walls and platforms. - In the original trilogy, there are often transitions both in and out of the bonus rooms. They rarely pop in from nowhere. - When making hidden areas, there should be a hint that something is there. Random leaps of faith are not fun.
You're right, there are some problems even with the level design, some of the ones you suggested are because of the camera that still wasn't as responsive as the original games. The part where the bonus comes back suddenly is when the bonus is accessed through a crack in the wall, this happens a few times in DKC2
This truly feels like it belongs alongside the others. You're doing a phenomenal job. I wonder if Nintendo is gonna do a 30th anniversary celebration for DKC, where the original trilogy is packaged in one along with the release of a new game.
When I was a kid in the 90s, I always imagined the fourth Donkey Kong Country game featuring a kong character that actually had black hair, like a real gorilla. I still think that would be really cool to see, a Donkey Kong-style gorilla character resembling a real gorilla
My Donkey Kong Country 4 would have been a New Orleans /Swamp theme. Swanky and Funky are at a casino when all the other Kongs get captured so you play as them. One level is a Kremling themed Mardi Gras parade and there are casino bonus games. K Rool has a crocodile skull mask and is into voodoo now. He has voodoo dolls of all the Kongs and uses them to his advantage. Instead of rat enemies you would have possums. Also, there are good Kremlings that help you out along the way. That’s just off the top of my head

The game has been being developed since 2009. As long as there are people donating, there will be character X being added, music being added, HD and PC breaking, etc... DKC trilogy took 7 months, and the guy still released 3 updates supporting the game. Less is more, DKC 4 team.

This would of been the Unofficial Sonic Mania for the DKC series. A game made by talented fans except Nintendo would unfortunately never accept this because Sega does what Nintendon't... sometimes. The day Nintendo finally accepts fan made projects in the year 20XX is going to be a special one.

fan made for sure XD at least there a lil bit of effort with the map design.....returning enemies are lazy design however i would not mind certain ones to come back......Zinger(Bees)(DKC 1)(with new variations)...Mud guys(DKC1) light on-off stage(with new variations as well)....Clap trap are a classic(should return + 1 boss Clap Trap).....DKC2 dual sword wielding kremlings would be nice to come back with new variations....DKC2 ghost ropes(new variant too..why not make 1 that freeze the kongs to slow their movements ? or that apply invert controls timed debuff)......DKC2 enemies thrower guy(maybe a stage dedicate to it where it chase you with a barrage of junk thrown at ya)...DKC2 Klubba(an Arena to duel him with each defeat he gets stronger for next match, while also unlocking new secret levels after each of his defeats, pay him crem coins to initiate a duel with him)......DKC3 the copter dudes would be nice....DKC2&3: some of the barrel enemies(some new variation as well)..........then a whole new set of enemies would be nice....still want an octopus buddy to ride XD(for mud stages & water stages) different play style depending the area its in

The entire game engine was developed from scratch by the DKC4 team, unfortunately there is no possibility of porting it to SNES, it was made in Clickteam Fusion for PC

A estética, música, gráficos, sprites e elementos são INCRÍVEIS, trabalho incrível! Entretanto, tenho um leve problema com o level design, por favor não me entenda errado, mas nos DKC originais, cada fase além da mecânica básica (saltar, correr e matar inimigos), tinha alguma mecânica ou setup predominante, que fazia a fase ser única e diferente em sua gameplay. No caso deste fã game, sinto que todas as fases parecem serem as mesmas, exceto pela estética. Esse tipo de detalhe se chama "fases romp", um termo muito conhecido em teorias de level design, especificamente na comunidade de hacks do Super Mario World, que são fases normais, com elementos normais do jogo base, porém sem alguma mecânica ou setups diferenciados. As fases não são ruins, mas apenas senti falta desses detalhes que são muito fortes no level design do DKC. No geral um excelente trabalho e torço muito que ele seja concluído =D

Essas fases de jogos feitas por fãs são boas, mas nunca superam as originais. Nos jogos originais, tem um monte de gente que trabalham e são pagas pra fazer as fases. Não dá nem pra comparar, né. Cada canto de cada fase é muito bem pensado e bem construído. Tem muito jogo hack aí que as fases são ridículas. Muito mal feitas.
This is going to sound like BS, and I don't blame anyone for thinking that... but my one and only complaint with these levels is the insane mixture of enemies from the three different games. Some of the enemy placement/themes make sense... others dont... I think they should stick to 3-4 enemy types per custom map to help adhere to a more cohesive theme. Just my bs take from someone who has never designed a custom map in these games before😅
The interesting thing here is that this could be running on a real SNES, at least based on what I can see, even though I don't think it is in the particular case. The thing is, for me personally at least, without it being made for the actual SNES [even if just a ROM to be played on SNES emulators], I'm not that interested in it. But, it still looks very nice, and the "what if" aspect of it is interesting to me.

It's too bad we were dragged into the 3-D era kicking and screaming. I would rather have had this instead of that god awful DKC 64.
This was a cool fusion of forest & cave level! And really unique path for the level. I'd prefer slightly more time in the forest tho ^_^
