The 97+ imo is the most modern looking one and keeps up with all the current cars today, but the 95-96 red/white with LEDs look premium too. The 92-94 looks so outdated unless you swap the guts with LEDs or something to make it look better. Great vid, bro, keep at it! Diggin the new intro.
92s have potential as they are not partitioned off other than the reverse light. I should project one of those. They're like a 97% blank canvas under the lens.
Depending on your taste of what "best" would be. They're all the same process for all three tails. Clear over gutted insides, or using stock frosted reflectors.
hey so i have a 1994 sc300 and it have 50/50 amber and red tails. i just bought 1998 tails and they have 7 bulbs how can i wire them so i can install the 1998 tails
Hey, I'm trying to buy a set of 1996 Kouki tail lights for my 92 Sc400, but i noticed the pigtail for each tail light is cut off. The rest of the harness is still intact. Could I just solder the connector off my old tail lights to fix this? Thanks in advance, this video has cleared up a lot of confusion for a new sc owner
1. What year range is your old tail lights? 2. Are you talking about Zenki tails or Kouki? 97+ SC 96+ soarer. I would recommend getting the right harness. As I stated each generation is different when it comes to bulbs and wiring.
Ay bruh good vid very resourceful. Have you ever tried putting eBay transparent plastic outer lens over OEM lights? Just bought a 97 SC300 tail lights are cracked on the outside but I was hoping maybe I could restore them
Hi Mikkel :) I've changed my 97 tails to the 95 style ,because I hate the chrome grill in the 97s ....... Now seeing the chrome in black ....that could change my mind :) how'd you open them up ? :) Keep doing the cool stuff bro :)
Ok so idea. Can you take the supra looking tailight lens off since it is clear “no pink tint” and put it on a 1999 tailight with the blacked out chrome ? I need to see that !! Lol
Hey Mikkel, how do I remove the outer lense? I have some water build up that I want to remove and reseal.... how do I get the outer lense off? Everything I found on club lexus says i need to bake the light in the oven but i want to avoid that if possible... any suggestions?
1. Bake them, 2. Heat gun (not even heat spread), 3. Pseudo oven; cardboard box with a hole for the heat gun to heat up, 4. Cut them open at the seal and reassemble. All take experience.
Worth the watch really enjoyed it mikkel 👌🏽
Thank you again for your time in watching.

Dude u be killing it!! Salute 👏
Thank you!
Hahaha damn I've hated the 97+ tail till today, never seen the chrome removed way better. Loved this video
Thanks David! It was a big thing maybe 10 years ago. Now people just leave them as is.
Worth the watch.
Thank you!
Really neat the difference in each one 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yess'ir! Small but makes a big difference.
Great Break down Mikkel. thank you for your time & effort doing this!
I appreciate the kinds words dude.
So can I put the 97-00 lights into a 96-96? Are they all interchangeable? Maybe just rework the wires?
@@EventHorizon222 why not just get just the wire harness that goes with the newer tails. No need to rework the wires.
@@Mikkelism thank you
What would be my best option if I wanted to go for all clear tails?

I know this is late, but did you ever figure it out? I have 97+ tails. Thank you
Words cannot express how much i needed to find this video. WHY ON EARTH is lexus/toyota so confusing?
If you have a vision it’s completely possible Aslong as u put in the time and effort 🔥
Amen to that.
I enjoyed this a lot thanks
I am glad that it helped you.
Awesome
Thank you!
hopefully when i can im going to be making full clear tails with my old 92s and some ebay tailights, hope it turns out well
Just now seeing this. Best of luck buddy! Have you started yet?
@@Mikkelism not yet still trying to find some 92s at a junk yard haha and still got finish my 1jz swap
@@japaneseseaweed2891what’s your plan i’m about to pick up some 92s

Buying a 1993 sc300 can i put the 97 taillights on a 93? Or is it different for the newer models
Answer was in the video.
hey so i have a 1994 sc300 and it have 50/50 amber and red tails. i just bought 1998 tails and they have 7 bulbs how can i wire them so i can install the 1998 tails
1. Buy the appropriate harness
2. Test wires, take note, cut old build that aren't compatible off, solder new bulb seated & wires to old harness.
Man I need 1997 lexus es300 aftermarket taillights cant find them anywhere
If you can't find any, you haven't really searched. Two are from eBay, one is from clear corners, the rest are from Alex/o.g. Status.
My bad you said ES. Yeah, you'd have to seek someone to make some for you at that point. Like o.g. Status.

What temp and how long do you bake the tails for?

They don't fit without making them fit.
Damn I just learned a ton from this lmao
I'm glad you did dude!
how do we fill in stress fractures and cracks in the lens?
Clear epoxy, but even then it will be visible. Best to replace it is big and bad.
good info bro i follow you on FB too
Ayyye Thank you for the follow and support on both platforms.
how you to the front end an what did you need to do
A new lexus front end from the dealer.
Thinking about putting ebay lenses over 92's but i feel like it would be a big pain in the butt trying to make that work.
Thinking about it ain't nothing but a waste of time. As Nike says, just do it.
I want to buy the 1997 tail lights would they fit on my 1992 Lexus ????
If your lexus is a SC, yes.
Those 97 lights fit right in the same plugs or do I have to do a flash or something
?
@@Prolific_ju1n answer stated in the first minute and 30 seconds and previous comment. If you want to flash it. Go to Lexus dealer.
Thanks man 🙏🏾I really appreciate your help
Hi Mikkel :) I've changed my 97 tails to the 95 style ,because I hate the chrome grill in the 97s ....... Now seeing the chrome in black ....that could change my mind :) how'd you open them up ? :)
Keep doing the cool stuff bro :)
Heat gun and oven are two different ways. Oven is 3 minute intervals at 265. Both take awhile to master.
How do you fix swapping a 92 to 95 tailights hyperblinking turnsignals issue?
Resistors or the flasher unit from appropriate year.
There's a write up club lexus I believe how I fixed mine its either a cap or resistor
Just curious did you make the led ones yourself?
No, picked up the led ones from Japan. Then swapped my custom tail guys into it.
@mikkelism where can I buy the lens for the 97s?
If you're really lucky and someone is selling them. Otherwise you need to buy a full tail set and take it apart manually.
Ok so idea. Can you take the supra looking tailight lens off since it is clear “no pink tint” and put it on a 1999 tailight with the blacked out chrome ? I need to see that !! Lol
No you cannot without tedious grafting work.
Mikkelism awwh :( well dang
Mikkelism I watched a couple times. Just to make sure. So there is no true clear lense you can swap around ?
Do you know what size bulbs are in the 97 tail light? Specifically the brake light. Mine just went out. 😅
No, you can easily check your owners manual or the bulb itself before replacing though.
Great content as usual👌🏽
SCPOWER!! >:O
Thanks Averee!
Is the Sc 300 same tail lights as Sc 400
Yes
Yo this is a fire vid, why am I finding this out now? haha
Thank you! I'm glad you found it.
Hi bro i wanna put supra style tails lights in 94 sc400. Is this possible?
Appreciate your hardwork bro🙏
Buy the Supra style tails and install them.
Are any of these for sale? I need a clean oem 97+ driver side taillight. Do they sell replacements for the outer lens? I cracked mine.
None of these are for sale at the moment. And no, they do not sell replacement outer lenses.
Nice! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thank you.

Do you have an 95s that you’d sell?
Not currently.
I need you to modify my 97+ tails
Nothing against you, how many tail lights do you have😆
Count the ones in the video, then add a set that's on the car to have your total.
@@Mikkelism You are incredible
These look like sc400 tails
Because they are, and work for both cars.
@@Mikkelism just trollin lol
