Apparently it was a full on 50-50 collaboration. Tank reacted as well and he’s currently working for EC and says it was both teams working together.
From what I've heard. RATATATA is in reference to a common techno dance beat. The Fu Fu and bun bun is apparently common in Japanese karaoke culture. So if you put it all together it's a song about friends going out dancing and singing all night.
Momometals growling is so cool.
It took me watching the video to realize that the "everybody"s was her, not Kevin and Nico.
@@TheMikeLyonsI heard she also did the let’s go growl with Kevin (though can’t tell if everyone did that part as well. Sounds like it and the online lyrics state that) and the second are you ready after Kevin’s are you ready growl. I’m so impressed with her growl. Sounds great.
@@ForestSen When Kevin does the first "Are you ready", he doesn't do the 2nd one, and it's definitely a different voice, sounds just like Momo later in the vid.
@@TheMikeLyons Yes, had to watch it several times. And you can hear the differences clearly after a while.
@@ommadawn8434 yeah. That’s what I meant by my comment. I said she did the second “are you ready” after Kevin’s “are you ready”. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. But yeah. That’s what I was trying to put.
The way Kevin turns around at the end is really cool
Story is they met on tour, and agreed to a collaboration.
The Part with Electric Callboy holding the wires, said "Are you ready" the response "I'm ready" was Momo-Metal
Was looked into, it was a50/50 collab credits wise
Oh I thought it was two “are you ready”s back to back. Huh.
I think it's musically more like EC's style because Babymetal is much more flexible, and covers so many genres as a matter of course. Electric Callboy has an established sound I guess (only heard about 6 songs, still diving in). Songs like Da Da Dance, Headbanger Redux and Iine show that Babymetal does electronica too. I think it was easier for Babymetal to adapt to Electric Callboy than the other way around.
50/50
@@idk2545 I know that's how it was written, both teams had a split and the song is evenly divided. But there was a comment in this reaction,.and elsewhere that this sounds like Babymetal was a feature on an Electric Callboy song, rather than collaborating. That's the point I'm addressing. Babymetal are more flexible and can adapt to EC, rather than the other way around.
@@tanewoodley9806 fair enough, they are pretty versatile
@@tanewoodley9806 You've clearly only heard Electric Callboy's hits. They do a ton of different styles.
Definitely Ec style
The drummer went off on this one
Them turning around at the end is the best you have and will ever see!
"Yeah, but what about that turn at the end" is rapidly becoming the meme of the Ratata comment sections.... it's almost as if Nico and Kevin had invented that move...
FINALLY SOME ELSE GIGGLED AT THE “Scooby Doo door look around!!!!!!!!”
Had never heard Electric Callboy before this! I love finding new artists thru collabs like this
There is a little story about this collaboration. Last year Babymetal and Electric Callboy played here in Boston on the same week end I went to both shows. This year when EC played Boston again they told the story how this came about. While here in Boston Last year Babymetal approached them and told them they wanted to do a vid togehter! RATATATA collaboration was pretty much born here in Boston
All of BabyMetal and all of Electric Callboy in this collaboration all of BodySlam F Hero and BabyMetal were in that collaboration and all of BMTH and BabyMetal in that collaboration . Without BabyMetal, those collaborations would not have been as great and visa versa
😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Toy Factory is the Record Label of Babymetal and their Agency are made a great job with all those international band
Toy Factory is 100% Japanese Record Label

Great reaction. This one is just fun start to finish.🦊🤘😂 BABYMETAL were put together by their producer. The girls were all on the books of the Amuse Talent Agency and were grouped together in a group the agency formed, but BABYMETAL, as a sub-unit of that group, was the idea of Kobametal ... Amuse really didn't have any influence beyond allowing him to try his experiment (they weren't even that supportive as they thought he was mad, there would be no audience for a Metal-JPop fusion and that his experiment would inevitably fail).
This was a proper 50/50 split between BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy (the Kami Band only play live shows, they do not record the studio versions, they do not appear in music videos unless they were filmed at live shows).
When they played it live together at the FOX_FEST events in Tokyo last week the Kami Band did play the instrumentals as they played it during BABYMETAL's set.
Prepare for another surprise with 'BxMxC' if that's next ... and please make it a live performance (you can watch the official video after if you want, but live is so much more ... everything).
Toy Factory is the Record Label of Babymetal and they are leading the creative part!
Amuse is doing administrative part only!
Koba is working with Toy Factory!
@6:53 these girls are in their 20s now. They were formed when they were children over a decade ago. Give them a little credit!
they didnt say anything negative or took away credit from them, what are you on about
The song was written 50/50 with Babymetal. EC “wrote it” but the ladies came in and re wrote their parts. For example the last chorus wasn’t there and Babymetal went “we need another chorus”
Note I’m not talking about producers or labels, the lovely women were the ones who did that ❤
EC put out a video about it and how great it is.
This is a 50/50 collab. Check out Tank the techs reaction.
This might be the collaboration of the year!
7:00 BM is super diverse. They are a metal band tyat traverse different genres. Its part of their lore. A few albums ago they had Irish riverdance type song, an Indian type of song etc.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 🤣. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍 Is it just a coincidence that the two bands are to perform on the same days in the same places in several European festivals in June ?
Just FYI, BABYMETAL also performed "Brand New Day" with Scott and Tim from POLYPHIA in the festival. That was beautiful and soothing. (You reacted to that song a year ago.)
pure dad energy from Nico and Kevin dancing with the girls
In Japanese 'bun bun' means a buzzing sound like an insect would make. Bun bun suru = buzz, buzzing,
Babymetal is officially just the three girls: the Kami Band are strictly a touring band formed of established Japanese musicians, so, as others have said, you'll only see them feature in videos of live concerts. The actual recordings use session musicians (and in the early days, before the Kami Band was formed, they'd use a backing track in concerts, with Amuse employees dressed up in skeleton outfits miming playing the instruments under the dodgy name "Babybones" - something to file under Early Instalment Weirdness).
They were originally formed as a subunit of the rotating roster idol group Sakura Gakuin, but when Suzuka "graduated", Babymetal split off and continued as a separate band, especially when both Moa and Yui graduated. Momoko was also a graduate of SG, but she started the year after Moa and Yui left. She started Babymetal as part of an unmiked rotating trio of dancers (one per concert) called "The Avengers" to complete the appearance of a trio.
5:09 Reaction start
Dunno what happened with the other reaction but it seems this is same one without the watermarked logo and filters. So here we go again.
Welcome back to BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥
A week ago they played this song at FOX_FEST Festival in Japan along with Electric Callboy, everyone went bonkers with this awesome collab, pretty sure it's gonna be the hit of this summer.
Hopefully they will play this at Download Festival too or any other festival.
Polyphia were also there playing a set and the guitarists Tim Henson and Scott Le Page played together with BM the song Brand New Day, they're special guest in the album version, they were looking for this since a very long time ago and also fans waited for this.
See you next time 🦊🤘🐭
Yeah, this one was blocked, so they put the other one up until this one got unblocked :)
Been a fanboy for this group for almost 15 years now! So proud of them. Finally breaking through and gaining American fans! Dance, metal, rap, ....they're the BEST!
This is 50-50 collab. Both parties listened their ideas and put them in production and in music video making.
I was dancing and headbanging so hard that I almost went through my wall, I think I threw out my back but this song is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I didn’t know I needed this collaboration in 2024, AMAZING 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Check out the live version - the ladies having a hell of fun!
I first became aware that Japanese audiences love hard style back in the early 90s when I bought an Alien Sex Fiend live album from Japan and that started me on the journey that has taken me here. I loved Die Krupps, KMFDM, and others, now we have Electric Callboy (still want to call them by their old name) and the perfection of Kawaii Metal joining forces...... in the '00s I worried about the future of music. Now I don't.
Thanks for the reaction. It's a fun song. Just a few things. Momometal does a few of the growls in this song. The 2nd "Are you ready?" in the breakdown and the "Everybody" a couple times near the end. They did this live with EC already in Japan at Fox Fest. Edit: And grats on 25k subscribers.
BABYMETAL were absolutely heavy on the techno/dance side of their music on their first album. It's a bit strange to say they were moved into Rock and this is them going back, when 50% of their first album is a dance-metal mix. Shit Iine! is basically a rave song with only 10% metal.
Having watched this ... after a few weeks you should also look at the live version!
Check out how he was starting at the camera at the end.
If you want a lot of info and the bts info EC did a reaction to reactions video and it's great
Momo scream, breakdown part "Are u Ready" and ending part "Everybody"
The greatest collaboration between Germany and Japan since...well...it's a great collab!
....since the USA collaborated with Israel to genocide the Palast.....
And the official live rendering is even better !
This is not the collaboration we wanted but the one we needed!!!
Fun fact: Babymetal and ElectricCallboy have met on a festival about a year ago, got along well and spontaneously decided to do this collab
One of the best collaborations i've ever seen
When you react to BxMxC, please watch the live version.
It is obvious: Baby Metal needed some fun in their lifes. That is why they called Electric Cowboy.
An amazingly fun song! It is already said that it's a 50/50 collab between the two band. If I'm not mistaken, Moametal has said in an interview around 2019/2020 that she'd would like to collaborate with Electric Callboy. And here we are!
Anyway, you said "BxMxC" is next? Let's go!! It's a shocking one get ready!! Expect the unexpected and as Su-Metal once said, "Don't think. Feel".
Enjoy!!🦊🦊🦊
"The Turn of Kevin" at The End!
You can use many words to describe metal music...Powerful, hard, angry, melodic, etc.... But it's only been the appearance of Babymetal, and now Electric Callboy, can I actually use the word "fun" to describe metal music.... and this song is fun. They fit so well together is because they are basically doing the same thing to metal, Babymetal is bringing in the pop and EC is bringing in the edm, and both are making it fun for everyone....No longer is metal some skandanavian guy trying to growl while eating a microphone, now its also disco metal. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤘🦊🤘
👍👍An awesome performance by 2 amazing bands. Great reaction. BABYMETAL, the Queens of collaborations: ♪♪ I'll fight for you until I die, We love all the music, We push it to the limit, Do it, do it now.♪♪ 🦊 🖖❤
You react electric, you get like. Most simple deal of mankind. :) Greatings and thanks for the nice reaction :)
Thank you for the fun reaction🦊BxMxC next?👍Please do a live version🔥
Yes, Budokan 2021 is fire, and live Babymetal is the best Babymetal 😎
Babymetal is METAL, not hard rock. Check out 'Headbanger' and others. They combine Jpop with metal and for some bizarre reason, it works. 'Syncopation', 'Kagerou' and others are very heavy and good. Japanese language but good music is good music.
Babymetal mix edm "da da dance" is also so good
THIS IS JUST SOOO FUN!!!! I LOVE IT
It is a full on 50/50 collab. Nobody is featuring with anybody here.
Well, Finally! Truly, a stroke of genius to put these two together. Rumor has it that it was Moametal's idea.
That comment had me in tears! 🤣
is amazing babymetal ❤❤❤💯🔥🔥🇧🇷🇧🇷
I finally found my doppelganger, Sam and i look like twins oO holy moly
Best German/Japanese collab since 1945!
Y'all gotta do some Mindless Self Indulgence
Electric Callboy are the most entertaining band in the world right now, not put out a bad song in last 3 years and live shows just a massive rave of metal & EDM riffs that fill audiences with a euphoria 😃🤘
Best party song in 2024. Im not a fan of Metal but this is soooo fun!
I know the comment you're laughing about. I studied Military History, and served for 14 years, I held back my laugh. 😂😂😂
After seeing seeing Babymetal perform this at Hellfest.. I now know it is "Fu fu". not ooh ooh ... Dunno what Fu Fu means... Who cares, I had fun! that is all that matters!
Yes for BMC, please.
The 2nd "Are you ready" when he is holding the 2 electric cables is by Momometal! Yes, she fcking growls!🤘🦊🤘
Best German japanese colab since 1945😂
The first one I can think of that everybody is happy with XD
(I'm german btw)
@@Mandred85 nicht nur du 😂
But where is the Italian band?
@@htusda1 They surrendered early, as per usual...
Watch this song overtake Gimme Chocolate. Natbe their most fun song ever
Since the cat is officially out of the bag on Momoko's ability with harsh vocals, I fully expect them to be a highlight of BabyMetal's next album.
I love how easy those little girls keep up with the heavy growling men.
Those girls are in their 20s now.
BABYMETAL x @ElectricCallboy 😍😍
Fun reaction to a fun song! Perfectly balanced 50/50 between those 2 artists/bands.
BMC next, you said? I hope you do a live version! 🤘🦊🔥
Great reaction!
Disco Metal is here!
Nah that's Nanowar of Steel's song
According to Tank (EC's tour manager) it's a 50/50 collab.
On stage at FoxFest in Japan, it was Nico and Kevin joining the rest of Babymetal, but if BM was at an EC show, I'm sure it would be just like the video; the three ladies with the full EC band.
I don't know if you noticed. When they busted through the wall into the meeting. The "CEO" at the head of the table was Koba Metal I believe.
As far as the collab , it wasn't just a feature for Babymetal. It was a full on collab.
Another reactor, Tank the tech talked about this with some inside Info.
He's the tour manager for Electric Callboy's last couple tours and was there and somewhat in the fold for this. He said it was 100% a 50/50 full collab. The girls and Babymetal as a whole contributing just as much to both the song and video concept.
"The "CEO" at the head of the table was Koba Metal I believe." Sadly not, I forget his name, but he is a Japanese actor who does a lot of his work in Germany.
Grington is correct. That's not Koba. The actor's name is Yusuke Yamasaki. He's listed in the descriptions of the trailer and music video. He was also in Electric Callboy's "MC Thunder II" music video.
Thanks. Just like the girls out of costume and their iconic hairstyles such as Moa's pigtails there aren't a lot of pics of Kobayashi out of character. The few I have seen he looks very similar to the guy in the video in a couple of them. That's why I said I believe.
Slipping himself in figuring he wouldn't be recognized is something I could see him doing.
@@ericandrews6827 Haha, maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't - his face is thinner than this guy.
In most pics his face does look a lot thinner. I think it's because he usually has longer hair pulled back in a ponytail. And sunglasses. But I have seen a couple with him and shorter hair that this guy reminded me of. And the ages are pretty similiar
Do not really listen to either group. That said, the song is catchy AF, and the video is a lot of fun to watch.
Both groups have claimed that this some was a pure 50/50 collab. The Video was produced by the German production company, but the video was released on the Official Babymetal channel.
Also, if you go through Babymetal's catalog, especially their earlier stuff, they has a LOT of techno/dance/EDM elements in their music. If you have not yet heard it, please react to Iine! It was one of their first songs/videos and mixed EDM, rap, death metal and more.
Fun reaction to a fun song! 🤘
You definately should check one (or two) of the more serious EC songs: Hate/Love (follow up single to Hypa Hypa back in 2020), Mindreader, Parasite (video is made of live footage over the studio audio).
And then you are prepared for Hurrikan (not to be confused with their 2019 song Hurricane)! 😈
Yes please, I was about to suggest the same thing 🤘🏼🪩🔥 Hate/Love is often overlooked by reactors but I really love it and both Mindreader and Parasite are 🔥 especially the 🥁.
And Hurrikan 😱 what to say about that experience ???
If only BABYMETAL x @ElectricCallboy represented any country with this in the Eurovision Song Contest. They'd win! Please consider reacting to _KIDS ROCK FOR KIDS Global Collab - Hysteria (by Muse)_ th-cam.com/video/ApgUpGS6kAE/w-d-xo.html (3m:55s) The musicians are 9-16yo. It is _BETTER_ than faultless 🤔. I'll say it again, at 8:48 the second "Are you ready?" is actually Momo.

Babymetal was put togeather to fuse j-pop and idol cultute with metal.
This song is the most 100% exactly wgat Babymetal is about.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you manage to get around copyright issues with the video this big and no blurs/transparency? I don't see many reactions like yours, normally the music video is tiny!
Nice reaction
PS: like nr. 1k
6:26 well.. it's more like a passion project by a producer, the company had very little input in it's creation, the company also didn't want it at all at first because of the financial risk, they didn't want to put money into it. But the producer found an other way that they didn't need to invest.
they sing dubstep before. They have official dubstep remixes of their songs. So this is not very new for Babymetal
There is even Skrillex & Babymetal - Gimme choco.......
