An absolutely wild and whacky first experience with this group! Couldn’t have enjoyed it any more 😂🤘🏼 what else from them do I need to see?
Definitely should check out their collab with Babymetal “Ratatata”
Hypa Hypa
Honestly all the ones they have videos for are absolute bangers. I might recommend Tekkno Train, Pump It, Spaceman, and their cover of Every Time We Touch. All are excellent, and Spaceman will even get you some pretty sweet rapping in German.
Definitely 'Hypa Hypa' !!
You'll seriously enjoy the Cascada cover 'Everytime we touch"
Ratatata is undeniably the summer anthem this year, maybe not for mainstream listeners, but for alternative and metal lovers? it sure as heck is.
Babymetal and Electric Callboy are made for each other, German EDM Metal (there's many names for their style) combined with Kawaii Metal, it just works... INCREDIBLY well.
You'll be excited to check back here in the coming weeks....Ratatata with a very special guest 👀
@@PeterBarber i'' wait patiently hehehe, already know it will be good :D
@@PeterBarber the video didn't make me sub, this comment did
@@PeterBarber Tank?
I actually find their main singer, Nico, extremely talented. His range is pretty wild, and his actual singing voice is lovely. Their main screamer, Kevin, is also pretty amazing at what he does. One fun fact is that Kevin actually backs up Nico's singing and is a great singer in his own right, while Nico backs up Kevin's screaming as well, and can do great screams. They complement each other well, especially live.
Another fun fact. The video is produced by the Schillo Bros, which consists of the guitarist of the band, Pascal Schillo, and his brother Oliver. They kinda had an idea of a video while making the song. Pretty much every part of the music, videos, and shows started out with just them. They even built some of their own video sets, if one goes and watching some of the Behind The Scenes videos. But, of course, with more popularity, they're able to ramp up production a bit more, and can now hire others to do a better job than they do.
They love performing live, and they're always thinking of ways to to make it even better for the fans. They have multiple costume changes, kind of wanting to bring the audience into the little worlds they create with their music video. They like to incorporate audience participation, and just wanna make it a big party. Having been to one of their shows, I can tell you, they are even better live. We Got The Moves goes OFF, live. The whole audience is like "DOPP DOO-DODO DOPP" the whole time.
Thanks for the info!
Oh, I'm interested in this view. This is a great rabbit hole to go in. It's two singers by the way, which isn't easy to see in this vid. Everytime we touch is much clearer for that.
How I tell them apart most of the time; Nico is the short one with a handlebar mustache, Kevin is the tall one with a donut 'stache.
@@Daffmeister187that doesn't really work in this vid though. Tattoos do work.
Can't wait to dive deeper
@@mycatistypingthis5450Yes, Kevin has a lot of tattoos and for the close-ups: Only Nico has a flesh tunnel in his left earlobe.
Well done! Your vocal representation of synth beats is dope.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :]
Yessss FINALLY some EC! They are massive amounts of fun. Every song of theirs is an "anthem," a bop like you said. Extremely catchy. You can't help but move and sing along.

In case a reaction to EC got blocked by TH-cam, I've read that it is helpful to contact EC to get it unblocked again.
Awesome thanks for the recs!
@@PeterBarber You should start with their joint venture with BABYMETAL for sure, it is completely awesome!
Mind reader is also great, and an example of their more serious side.
Interesting tidbit Pascal Schillo, one of the guitarists also runs a video production company with his brother Oliver, they handle alot of EC’s music videos Schillobros is the name of their company.
Pascal (one of the guitarist) and his brother produce like +90% of all their videos. So the videos are basically completely produce in house.
Once again, you've brought me something I would never have watched on my own. Definitely an interesting experience. Loved the R&A, of course. Always something new to learn about a different type of music!
This exact comment is why copyright laws suck. You've just introduced a new person to a great band and alot of bands block this stuff. Electric Callboy are different though. If you watch their channel they love to do reactions of reactions making them extra awesome.
@WarcraftOhio It's not my kind of music, so unless Peter does more reactions, I won't be listening to them. I just find it interesting how much there is to the breakdown (the vocal techniques and music styles) even with this type of music.
I couldn't agree more, Eileen! Not my cup of tea, but I love hearing about all the nitty gritty happening. Always so interesting, when Peter breaks it down for us.
it's so great that you take the time to learn about music you otherwise wouldn't be exposed to
I love how the synths slowly blend into the metal after each breakdown and at the end they are all together perfectly.
When it is your first time listen to Electric Callboy then I recommend you "Hypa, Hypa" and "Pump it"
Yes bro, I was looking for this comment. I love EC.
Fantastic breakdown! Greatly appreciated! I love Electric Callboy, their latest release together with Babymetal (Ratatata) is also amazing! As is their whole catalogue!
Stay tuned 👀 Ratatata breakdown coming soon with a very special guest...
How many genres will be in this song?
ECB: Yes!
Döp Core
Party Core
Pigeon Core
Gardening Core
Bush Core
Waterspraying Core
…
U´d LOVE their take on : Everytime We Touch
Okay, this is not a reaction I expected, but it's going to be so fun!
Fantastic, Peter! My body would not stay still while listening to this, and it really is not my scene usually. You broaden my musical horizon all the time!
Great reaction!👏👏👏
Elisabeth and Will Ramos did a reaction to "We got the moves".🙂
The song was written and filmed during the C restrictions ("...We need no clubs...") and because it was work related they could first time met up with friends again and have a little partyyy during the video shot.
What do you mean party? During the lockdown?! This was obviously a serious business meeting! With ponies, and wigs..., and cock-tails... oh, I see.
@@Anuta6675 🤣
I love those two! Elizabeth is a dear friend of mine, and I got to meet Will after an opera performance back in February
@@PeterBarber I thought already you know them after your comment in the vid .🙂 And I love their vocal cord work monitoring video.
“Yesterday we drank too much let’s do it again”
Omg it’s an irish drinking song.
“Now everybody’s died
so until our tears have dried
let’s Drink and drink and
Drink and drink and
Drink and drink some more!
Let’s dance and sing and fight
Until the early morning light
Then we’ll Throw up Pass out wake up
and then go drinking once again!”
So happy to see more people discovering EC! we need more of these... Pump It, Spaceman, Hypa Hypa, Ratata, Everytime We Touch
They're so good -- can't wait to see more!
Seen them twice in concert over the past year and they are just as good live. I would suggest Hypa Hypa, Spaceman, Pump it, Everytime We Touch, Hurikkan, MC Thunder 1 and 2, Arrow of Love, Tekkno Train and they just released a new song with Baby Metal Ratatata thats a banger.
Hell yeah
Nico drinking a out of a COCKtail glass always gets me😂😂
I love how, no matter what, everyone has to move and dance to Electric Callboy. They are amazing.
Finally Peter! I was waiting for this one! This band just makes me happy and this sing is one of my favourites of theirs! Great choice! And great reaction! 🌷
More Electric Callboy please! EC reactions are always a blast!
Wow. Never expected to learn so much about electronic dance music from an opera singer. Great reaction, and definitely one of the most instructive ones to this banger... Huge thank you from Germany...
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed (and learned) 🤘🏼
Well done! Thank you! Recommendation? All of them, obviously.
Just a side note: They listen to hardstyle before their shows to get in the right mood. Also during setting up a venue, techno is running via loudspeakers. Check Tank the Tech vlogs about their Europe tour. You gonna love it.
You also have to check out Every Time We Touch and Ratatata (very new, but crazy good; I really like the official video, but the live music video from Fox_Fest is also great)
Electric Callboy is such a fun and talented rabbit hole. Also, this song live is a treat.
Finally! 🎉
I was waiting for you to react to EC. ❤😊 Their transitions between the different parts are so smooth. Love the production on their songs.
There are actually two singers who do both harsh and clean singing.
But Kevin, the tall one, does mainly the harsh vocals.
And Nico, the short one, is their main clean vocalist.
Btw: That was a cocktail in the beginning! And Nico was licking the bush. 😜
The pony had a Pony (German word for bangs)
And the bodybuilder said:
What’s going on here? P**s off you rags! (losers/weaklings)
All of their songs are awesome.
But THE workout song is: Pump It (there is the regular version and a velvet version which is pure pop. The velvet version might be a cooldown song.)
Other songs to try
- Tekkno train (very sexy lyrics)
- Spaceman (collab with a German rapper)
- Castrop x Spandau (Kalle Koschinsky x Electric Callboy, German, super fun)
- Hypa Hypa (crazy, has 6 covers by other bands worth checking out too)
- Everytime we touch (Cascada cover)
- Arrow of Love
- MC Thunder (with their old clean singer)
- Hurrikan ( You might want to wait with this one, the song contains German Schlager and that genre is painfully corny)
Then there are the more serious, but still awesome songs:
- Mindreader
- Hate/Love
- Crystals
- Fckboi
- Parasite
And their newest collab with Babymetal might be the catchiest song ever
- Ratatata
I was never into harsh vocals, but they made me reconsider! ❤
OH, you're in for a wild ride with EC. So fun to listen to.
Get your mind out of the gutter, it is a COCKTAIL, not a d-shaped Glas.
😂
this
The newer videos are produced by Schillo Brothers. Its the guitarist and his Brother doing the Video Production. EC goes a long way back. Even 10yrs old stuff with their former Clean Vocalist Sushi is still amazing. Electric Callboy - Best Day (feat. Sido) was released 9yrs ago. You will notice many similarities to their recent songs on the TECHNO Alben.
Want to get hyped? They have a video called Hypa Hypa.
Want a workout video, they have one called Pump It.
Now, if you want to see an entirely different side of EC, check out either Prism (almost all cleans) or Mindreader (a considerably less 'funny' song). But really, everything they do is golden.
Oh, and they recently (about a month ago now) did a collaboration with Babymetal called Ratatata. Definitely check that out. Nico and Su-metal can blend amazingly, and Momometal doing harsh vocals back and forth with Kevin is a joy to the ears.
I'm so surprised you haven't heard these guys before. Definitely one of my favorite bands right now. They're so good, dude. Newest song is a collab with Babymetal, too! Definitely gotta check that one out
Great Reaction. But i think the best workout Song is "Pump it", and the Anthem of the Summer is "Ratatata" (50/50 Collab with Babymetal). Check it out. You will not be disappointed. Greetings from Germany :)
I love your perspective and knowledge on the electronic side, especially :)
Thanks for that analysis!
Very interesting! Other reactors usually focus more on the heavier metal parts, which I'm already more familiar with anyway, so you definitely added to my EC experience with this reaction/analysis! Awesome, and thanks!
You might like Pump It, it's all about the gym life!!
Electric Callboy are the most entertaining band in the world right now, not put out a bad song in last 3 years and live shows just a massive rave of metal & EDM riffs that fill audiences with a euphoria 😄🤘
Nice studio!! 🎉
Thank you, Eileen! You’re the best
@@PeterBarber Gotta keep the lights - and the a/c! - on in the new studio.
Will we get more EPIC reactions? 😅
Sorry if its been asked already, haven't found anything about it
Last year they did a DJ-set at the Wacken Festival, being a metal-core band :-D
During the shows the two vocalists do clean and harsh harmonies (didn't even know that's a thing).
The way you stylize PETER in your logo is pretty dope. Reminds me of how Devin Townsend stylized DTB (Devin Townsend Band), in the sense of utilizing symmetry. I really dig that.
Electric Callboy are one of my favourite groups.
Electric Callboy is most definitely a rabbit hole you should go down!!!
Nice reaction. Will be fun to see you go down this rabbit hole.
You have to listen to Lorna Shore sun//eater next 🖤
Their name is a great representation of how chill these guys are, and i mean how they changed their name to electric callboy. They did a whole sit down with a historian and changed eskimo to electric after being informed the unsavory history of the name. All up front and in the open with their fans.
"As chill as this song gets, which is not very chill". So accurate. Until the pool float reprieve, but still tracks.
That second half of the breakdown was pretty much a straight core breakdown more than dubstep with maybe some electronic overlay.
Yeah, i feel almost zero dubsteb there..
I'll never not love this song
@2.10 It's a COCKtail
There are two singers. Nico (the short one) does (mostly) clean vocals, and hits those high notes. Kevin (the ridiculously tall one) does (mostly) harsh vocals and has the deeper voice, although both guys do both styles in the background. (You can see them and their respective heights when when they're kneeling next to the pony, or when Kevin is standing behind Nico in the buildup to the breakdown. Kevin standing behind Nico while they both sort-of dance is a common motif in their videos.)
The video is by the Schillo Bros (Oscar and Pascal), one of whom (Pascal) is also in the band (one of the guitarists).
@12:45 Everyone who steps on the 'grass' gets a bowlcut. Even the pony. The pony has a blonde mane (you can see it behind the black bowlcut). The 'angry man' at the end doesn't get the bowl because he never steps out of the caravan.
You mean Oscar whose name is actually Oliver?
Quick comment re: techno & guitars. There was a lot of crossover in the late 80s/early 90s, both in what was early UK techno (eg 808 State) and industrial music, a lot of which came out of Germany and Belgium.
Thanks for the insight! I love it
Epic!!!!!!! Dude this reminds me of music videos from highschool days. Just hilarious and amazing. ❤ Rock on!
Do more of them! ❤
Great and inforned reaction. A pleasure to listen to.
you may like their cover of hypa hypa! im so glad you covered them
The pony in the video is a joke that directly correlates to the hairstyle. I believe I read that the style of haircut they are rocking in the video translates as "pony" in German.
Great reaction and nice musical insight. 👍🏻🤘🏻
Always enjoy listening to your reaction/analysis. This music is not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the skill anyway.
Love the breakdown! Hope
You do more ECB!
Anyone going to tell him about Every Time We Touch?
10 rules of techno would also ge a very fitting video as an "excursion"
If you go to their we got the moves denver I'm in that music video like 6 times. Love it
Now down the Electric Callboy Rabbithole
Hi Peter, I just visited your page and WOW very impressive! I liked the stair well! This reaction was done 3 days ago so I hope you are able to read this comment. Forgive me that's more like a book! 🤣❤
I noticed that you haven't done any more Gabriel Henrique covers. If I may recommend, I Want To Know What Love Is on a roof top with choir and band. The original is by Foreigner but he's doing the Mariah Carey version. He takes his whistle a little higher. You're the expert. I'm curious as to what you think.
He's so talented. I wish you had the time to react to some more of his covers. Recommendations, Stand Up on a roof top with choir and band, Something Beautiful again with choir and band not the AGT version. I'm being specific of location because he did the songs in different locations. He sang some of these in his car. Yes! His car! Seems there were some "haters" who said he was using auto tunes and what ever else is used to enhance singing these days. It's hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣
I don't know if anyone has given you a real back story on him. Sang before he talked! First time in front of audience at 7. He is a Gospel Singer hence the choirs. He's in his element with them. He's a PK! Grew up in the church. His dad is the pastor and the musical director at the church. Bottom line, Gabriel's voice is gift from God which he acknowledges.
He most recently did a feature on Natalie Grant's A Luz Te Entratrara (You Will Be Found). She is a Contemporary Christian singer who learned Portuguese to do the song in his language.
Thank you for your time and patience. ❤❤❤
- i want to dive deeper into harsh vocals...
- oh! i have to tell you about Elizabeth!
- Elizabeth, friend of mine, who runs The Charismatic Voice chainnel...
- oh nevermind
I love their whole back catalogue, a favourite band of mine as is GHØSTKID 🤩
All of the other suggestions are great, i want to add ' mind reader ' because its a more serious tone and also awesome, but just another example of range.
You def need to check out their latest song with Babymetal called Ratatata. It's the feel good hit for every summer.
Nice beatboxing 😂
Check out Pump It, Hypa Hypa, or their latest collab release Ratatata
aaaaaa please do more 😍
❤🔥🤘
As an opera singer, you must react to Unleash the Archers. Their singer Brittney Slayes is out of this world.
About your remarks abiout the video: Ith surely herlps when the guitarist and his brother a video film producerrs (Schillo Brothers) and create almost every EC video. ;-)
just now Nick Thurl Mavromatis dropped a banger 🔥 You gotta react to it!
Watch them do their new song with Baby Metal live at Fox Fest
Two vocalists my friend…..
KEVIN… Taller does heavy screaming mostly and some singing too. NICO shorter does more clean melodic singing but can also scream, they are the perfect compliment to one another
More Electric callboy plizzzz 😎👌
10:30 , pausing there is funny when you know the intent of the band behind that scene xD (im not gonna say it cause ill get banned but you know xD )
Time for Ratatata with Baby Metal
Givin your opera backround I'd love to see your take on final fantasy 14's operatic esque openings from a realm reborn amd dragonsward. Same with charismatic voice's
I wish you went into this blind without research. It would've made this reaction even better
dude, you have to react to Rammstein.
You'll love the singer.
Please react to stell ajero "All by my self" on david foster concert that's really on fire bro promise.
Another great video mate, just a question... why does the öriginal video"link .... point to • Alice In Chains - Love, Hate, Love ⭐??
As a watcher of reactions i am generally annoyed by a lot of pauses. But hearing a EDM expert analyzing that element of the song is pretty darn interesting. Totally enjoyed it
Glad to hear that! My videos aren't really standard reactions -- more like fun music lessons, at least that's what I'm aiming for
Little Big next?
Now check out Ratatata
Bruh....
Do babymetal and electric callboy. Trust me. RATATATA.
It’s a cock-tail
Duuuuhhhh. Paused to much. Logical interpretation.
too many breaks in this video, for my opinion
Some electronic I do enjoy, but this one’s not for me.
You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into.
Sorry, uninspired reaction..
