Undisputed Truth, Smiling faces, smiling faces pretend to be your friend. A smile is just a frown turned upside down. Old school funk 😂😂😂. There is a core value in your conversation regarding the North American/Canadian lifestyle that is now threatening the citizenry of the entire continent. I am concerned that the poison will travel with some to other idealic place like the Philippines and beyond. I respect your sincerity in moving, and the conversation you're having in your videos. Like yourself, my plan, in the very near future, is to make this move not to the big city but to the laid back province life. Thanks again for your exposure, in the near future we will do it face to face...jwd🎉

We hope you many fine adventures. Now a couple things...you must have a return or onward exit flight dated within 30 days of arrival when you board to fly here or they will not allow you come. I suggest an inexpensive flight to a closer place than the USA, its up to you as to how youbwant to determine that, but you need a return ticket or an onward ticket to somewhere closer and cheaper. Also, make sure to do your ehealth 72 hrs or less before your flight. Ehealth philippines is a search term that will get you to the website. Don't worry, it's easy pz. Did you have your covid shots done? Melake sure you address all these items before you fly over. Enjoy your stay! 30 days visa free from the USA. At day 30, visit the immigration office nearest you to apply for more permanent status, ie, a extension for 30 days and begin the process to get your ACR card. This is all easy to do, you will be OK. The people at immigration are very gracious and will help you. Ummm bring a pen, that's about it. Have fun here.

Well, you nailed it on the head brother. Interesting to know you’ve been there for eight years. I’ve been married to a Filipina for 30 years. Visited the country once back in 2006, spent a month traveling around from Manila. Wife is from Pasay City. And it was very raw then, a lot of good positive changes since for the people in the country I do believe. Anyway, we’re planning to early retire in October as I mentioned. I’ll be 59. Doing exactly what you said, liquidating and doing the duffel bag drag to the Philippines lol. I’ve lived outside of Boston my whole life, and it is way too crazy, way too dangerous, way too political and mostly way too expensive! I’ve been planning this for many years and know we will be fine especially with Filipino family in my life.! So glad to hear you made those moves and are Happy! Laguna I have visited is also an option, as well as Cavite, Bataan. We’ll be just fine living on 1/3 of our US income. Could never do that back in America. Anyway, I enjoy the videos and it takes like-minded people to make these decisions as you have, and thank you for sharing! Heading for the Simple Life. Hopefully meet up some time. ✌🏻❤️🇵🇭🌴

Love it. All good points. I did a retirement test a couple of months ago to Cavite which is south of central Manila. One bit of warning for others: where I went, I was too deep into the local life. It was too much for me... Or should I say not enough for me. I was staying in my Filipina girlfriend's townhouse in an established neighborhood, which was fine. The problem for me was that I was isolated because the area was just for locals. Nothing there for the foreign guy. No bars, no restaurants, no shopping. In my effort to get away, I had gotten too far away. It was not the good 'away' either where there was peace and quiet. It was an easy walk to a main road, which was loud and a traffic nightmare. Trike and jeepney were available on the main road to get to somewhere fun, but it just was not for me. Best advice I have for guys trying out the Philippines is to test it before you commit. (and stay the heck out of Manila if you can. Fly into Cebu or Clark airports) For me, I went to Makati from Cavite and immediately felt better. I'll be making another retirement test soon. Take care.

You're video shows the positive sides of the Philippines when it comes to cheap cost of living and friendly people (not all are friendly) , but you gotta look at both sides. I think you're advice that prospective retirees and expats come and check out the place first is great advice. Because it definitely isn't for everybody. I lived in Bohol for 6 months in 2022 and now im back in Canada. I don't have such a negative outlook on Canada because I look at it that there's still a lot of positive things in Canada. Yes, I can't stand Trudeau and he's gotta go.The country will be better off for it.But I also can make way more money in Canada, feel safer in Canada compared to the Philippines ( i always felt like i needed to watch my back there) and i have a cabin off the grid in Central B.C in its the best place. Most beautiful place I've ever seen cleanest air cleanest water. Plus i love hockey and no hockey in the Philippines! Like anywhere Canada has its pros and cons, Philippines has its pros and cons, its all about perspective so good advice to come and check it out first.

I opted out at 50. I went through a nasty divorce at age 44, which my ex-wife weaponized and used to try to destroy me - vindictive. I subsequently worked my butt off, sold up and re-located to the Philippines. Fortunately, I had the foresight to buy property, establish a business and ensure a guaranteed income in the Philippines (obviously through a Filipina partner). Our income is pretty good, the kids are doing fine. I do enjoy the fact that my ex tried to f*** me up but failed. She is slogging away to earn a buck while I have a coffee on my balcony in the morning and a few beers in the evening without having to be concerned about the rat-race.

For 2 of us..ALL IN. including entertainment, eating out a couple times a week..rent , food, transportation utilities etc...if everything is tabbed in..it's about 1250 to 1500 canadian. But if we eat less junk food, no wine, no cigars, and eat out twice a month then it's $1000. For 2.

I'm sorry, not specificly. However contacting a international load broker in New York will be a good start to investigate. Orrrr a Broker in Manila, might even be better. They should know shipping cost and any costs relating to inbound fees and or tariffs. I'm pretty sure you want to travel light as possible and repurchase items here as much as possible.

a really heartfelt and articulate video. i’ve spent alot of time in southeast asia, including philippines, since the 1980s. in fact i just left manila (and batangas briefly) for jakarta where i am now. fwiw, here are some thoughts. i second the advice to simply get up and just cross the pacific to see firsthand (but on any airline that isnt american, canadian or filipino). i suggest initially visiting both thailand and the philippines for a study in contrasts. i suggest $1500/mo for a decent quiet life over here, but not in a capital city, plus some nest egg to draw upon. do have medical insurance, a backup or exit plan and some kind of a longterm residence (not back to back tourist) visa, once you decide on a place. go slow, always rent, don’t buy, all things & persons, for a good while intially. to be frank, and being careful, not cynical, just as there is no free lunch there is no free smile. act and dress decently, away from angeles city and pattaya these are respectable peoples. be occupied and get exercise. southeast asia isnt perfect but for guys past 50yo you can spend happier times here than in what north america has sadly become. life is different here, embrace it. looking forward to your followon videos, thanks.
