Can this lift system be used on inset doors? The manufacturer's installation instructions only show an overlay door.

You could use this system for an inset door, but you would have to put blocking inside the cabinet at the top for the hinges to mount and at the bottom to provide a surface for the door to close on.
Ideally you could create a box within a box, set back by the thickness of the door. The door would actually be an overlay for the inside box, but would appear to be an inset on the outside.

@@WoodworkersHardware Wow! I am so impressed by your quick and thorough response. That makes total sense and is what I was thinking, but wanted to confirm. It's unfortunate that the hinge/lift system can't be adjusted to work directly with a an inset door, but it would likely require a different design.
