The locos were ok but the ride was rough, on the jointed track very bad on the CWR bad too. If different bogies were supplied instead of the standard GM bogie it would have solved the problem. From a drivers point of view the railcars are more comfortable and quieter.
Its still double to Cobh , there were plans to single it from Cobh Junction to Cobh in the 1970s but then the NET factory was planned for Marino Point. Loco Hauled trains ceased in 2004 or 2005 I think.
Hmm, I always though the destination blinds where hand operated by turning a lever, but at 7:30 onwards it looks like they are electronically controlled. Interesting.
tut tut to your one at 9:08 waiting to cross over the line as soon as the 2600 is clear instead of waiting for the gates to be opened and crossing over the public road.
I'd love to get a cabride from Midleton to Cork someday! Great vid nice to see the 2600's when they first went into service!

Super Footage from the Good Years Tom!😃.Why did they replace the Destination Blinds on all 2600/2800 Class DMU Trains recently?.
The parts could not be got for the old ones.

Is it just 2600 units that operate the Co. Cork suburban services?
Used to be 2700s as well but mainly 26s and the odd 2800. Somtimes a 3 car ICR if anything special is on.
Nice, thank you for clearing that up!
