  • Notice how I strategically left the word "Philly" out? Because I don't want no smoke with one of the regional foods that sparks the most arguing in any comment section on the internet. But for the record mine is the best! Simple, juicy, cheesy and delicious. Thats what a cheesesteak is supposed to be right? Okay well then mine is perfect.

This looks amazing. I love cheesesteaks with onions and for a special treat I add some crispy bacon! And oh yummy on the fries!

This is almost exactly how we made cheesesteaks at my family’s restaurant in Denver growing up. Philly people thought we were nuts til they tried it haha. Ty John.

My favorite philly was at a bowling alley at 32nd St Naval Station around 2001. I think they mixed seasoned salt with some other spices that really made it munchable. Ordered that and some fries with a side of mayo at least a hundred times.

Lawrys on a cheesesteak is definitely an amazing alternative 🙌 I tried that one too

I feel very confident in my usage of those frozen Idaho french fries now! Got a bag awhile back on a whim and now it's all we buy.

we recently experimented with making a Philly cheese steak into a pie (think of like a chicken pot pie) and it was better than i could have ever imagined

Great looking cheesesteak! Could use some bell peppers though. They'd sautee up beautifully on that griddle with all that meat juice

Flipping the meat so the cheese melts is my favorite part of this.

I had an 'authentic' philly cheesesteak for the first time last year... I much prefer the diner style I can get at any restaurant in my hometown. This one looks delicious.

As a local to the Philly area im both pleased with your promotion and respect of the sandwich. And annoyed by some of the sacrilegious choices.
Im also understanding that on this side of the country "California style" means putting mayo on something, which makes no f'ing sense.....should be avocado.

I'm a sauce guy. How badly would I get beat up in Philly if I put some A1 or even some mayo on this bad boy?

god im hungry for that, it looks delicious. i wanted to ask about the seasoning thing, when you found pre-seasoning was making the steak drier, were you letting the steak rest with the salt on it for about an hour or two? that's what i do for steaks and the steak tends to reabsorb the juices with the salt, so the saltiness penetrates all the way through. it could definitely be different for cheesesteaks, i just wanna double check before i make this at home

Around where I live everyone uses thick yellow cheese sauce slathered on plain seasoned steak strips. It's fuckin' nasty. THIS on the other hand 🎉

I can only assume that actually going to Philadelphia for a cheesesteak is probably one of the most underwhelming disappointments in the culinary world. I would rather eat John's Californidelphia cheesesteak than any philly one I've seen.
