Thanks for the video guys! One thing I would add-- the water pump pulley needs to come off. It's a lot easier to do this before you remove serpentine belt. There's a single 8mm bolt on the timing cover that can't come out when the pulley is installed.
No - it's a bad design.... if you want to change the oil sump, you need to remove the timing cover, if you want to remove the timing cover, you need to remove the valve cover... Everything is overlapped in a stupid way by Ford.
Great video! Im working on a cx7! Its a flip! The bolt that you said you dont have to remove at 27:30 whats it called? Its missing in mine and oil is coming out of it!
Hey guys. So I have a question. That bolt you described where you add the purple bolt for top dead center. Ok well awhile back I noticed my car was leaking from that bolt so I added some in weld. I didn’t know what it was for so I added the weld to keep it from leaking. Now my timing cover broke so I’m having to do all your steps to fix it. I had remove the whole engine so I can fix everything that was damaged. I see there’s no bolt and I covered that spot with weld. I take weld Off there’s no bolt. I think it broke awhile back. Now it’s just a hole filled with weld. What do I do

Do you have a video for replacing the the tensioner? And do you have to remove all of this to replace the tensioner?
I'm currently changing the tensioner in mine. Finding there is so much to remove. Bloody pain in the arse to do
Thanks!
Can you do a video on transmission changing oil filter with gasket

Hey do you have the link to the video when you put it back together? Thanks
If doing this in situ the power steering pump has to be removed to access one timing cover 8mm bolt .

Aaron Divelbliss this is a job that pays a Mazda technician 4.5 hours
My mazda 5 valve just got damaged due to wrong timming.... my mechanic replaced the crankshaft pull without minding the timming
How did that conclude - that sounds very serious.
why you put a tie in your hand🙁☹️
What's crazy is you could do this same job on a Honda or toyota in about 1 hour lol... Stupid design by Mazda
