I cant thank you enough! I spent hours yesterday to get this done but no ou there video or instructions made it clear enough for me to figure it out. Watched your video this morning and after about 15 minutes got it replaced and saved me money and a trip to the dealership!
For those that have a Mazda CX7’ still, The easiest way to replace these lights is to jack your car up, take the wheel off and peel back the plastic fender. Makes it a easy minute job 👍🏻
If viewers want to replace drivers side low beam, this video is helpful as it does a better job showing the clip that holds the bulb in place. This clip is famous for giving people a big problem with its removal and many, many people have broken the plastic that the clip hooks into. Once the place is broken you will have to jerry rig a means to fix it. The most expensive way is to buy a whole new headlight assembly which is hundreds of $ and considerable work! So take care with the clip. It wouldn’t be so bad if you could get at it more easily but people have to work on this clip blind, not knowing how to push it to unlatch it. This video will help you understand this clip. If you use a screwdriver to pry it you might break it. This video shows finger pressure is enough if you press correctly. By the way, if you do break the plastic, another video shows gluing it with special glue for hard plastic. You will probably have to remove the light assembly to fix it, but you can fix the broken hard plastic. Better to do your best to totally understand that fricking latch clip.
Thanks for this. Was a lot of help. I was able to do it from the top. But I did it blind with the help of this video. Guys hands may be too big to get in from the top. Couple of things. I had to pull the 'plug' the blue wires go into with slip joint pliers (make sure you don't catch the wires). Remove the soft rubber seal/casing out by sticking a screwdriver down the side and popping it off. A little bit fiddley but got there - all in less than about 20 - 30 mins.
@@Speed.Racer.5 I had to replace the driver's side last month and used the same procedure as this video. My hands cant fit from the top thats why its easier for me to go through the wheel.
Thanks so much! If I ever get my hands on the design folks they will get strangled. Then strangled again for how ridiculous it is to change the oil. Again, thank you.
Whomever designed this deserves to be sacked along with their manager who approved it. Look at Volvo V40 with two plastic wedges that hold the whole light assembly in place and access is from above. You can do the replacement at night, no tools, stay clean and standing up and swap over all in 1 minute - No impossible to understand hidden hook on the clip either. Take a look Mazda
You are the only one that shows how to remove the clip. Congrats and thank you
YOU!!! You made the BEST video showing the spring clip! Thanks 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Thank you!! The clip was giving me issues because I could see the whole shape of things. This was a massive help. I appreciate this so much!
Wow. What an ordeal. I am not looking forward to doing this. Great video. And very helpful. Thanks 🙏

Me too easy as 123 .
That black is bulb adapter, been replacing it for couple of times and much easier if you take out the tires, much room and clearer to replace it.
Excellent instructions I was struggling with the clip from another video that didn't elaborate on how to remove. Thank you
Great video... got mine replaced successfully after watching it... Thank you.
Very helpful video! I was able to replace the light from up top without removing the well cover in about 30 minutes thanks to the video!
I was able to replace the passenger side light from under the hood too, but not sure it's possible with the drivers side.
i m going to try it too, from up top.

The clip has been the bane of my existence
Thanks mate! I managed to do it blind through the engine bay because I could visualize it from this video.
Super Good Teacher! Awesome Job! Great Video
Thanks bro. Your video helped me with the hook on the driver's side.
Glad it worked out for you
wish I found this video first. I broke that silver, plastic housing that the bulb socket sits in. Hopefully that can be replaced. Nice video. Thanks.
That will be very helpful, I plan to upgrade my low beams
This was very helpful, thank you for the video !
Glad to hear that 👍
Thanks so much! If I ever get my hands on the design folks they will get strangled. Then strangled again for how ridiculous it is to change the oil.
Again, thank you.
Amazing video thanks very much
Thank you for the video
Thanks great video(:
Excellent video thank you!
nice job thanks
Tks, excelente video!!!
Thank you good job
well explained. Thanks
Thank you!
Thank you
Awesome thanks man
Cheers bro🔥😷
Спасибо! Помог👍
If you really have patience, you can do the low beam light from the top also. Don't have to go from the wheel.
But there more peace of mind if you do it from the wheel well. You see everything better from the bottom
Thank you!! The clip is a pain tho
Did you replace the low beam or high beam?
Is there any blinker lights on the headlights?
Sylvania h7 for outside and 9005 for inside on my son's 2010 model.
Is that the dreaded xenon bulb I’ve heard of? The one shops want to charge a fortune for? Is the concept about the same on a CX-5? Good video. Thanks.
This is a non xenon light but I am guessing the process should be the sample as a cx-5
Nope halogen
thank you so much.. and what about change the bulb from the drivers Side?
Its the same process. I had to replace it a month ago
Just want to make sure the bulb replacement for the low beam light is an H7 correct?
Yes, that's correct. There are a lot of h7 bulbs so just make sure it will fix the cx7.
Man my 2011 cx-7 GT Turbo headlights are totally different!! I don’t think I can replace mines myself
Can i replace it with LED H7 bulb ?
Great video! Horrible design by Mazda.
Is there a trick to pulling the blue wire off? I feel like I’m using enough pressure but it isn’t budging!
I had the same trouble. Eventually it came out with repeated effort though. I was beginning to think it wouldn’t go with just hand pulling.
Took me 30min to figure out the metal clips lol
It's one of the worst designs I've ever seen. Some other cars have this design as well. They can fk off . Good video btw👍🏽
that clip and alignment of the bulb is the worst design I have seen so far.
