To be fair, nobody says dubbing. Much more natural to say dubbed.
v true. but to be fair, that wouldn't have helped at all though lol.
"The Super Mario's Movies is shown in dubbing. Is dubbing OK?" Even the cashier isn't saying it correctly.
"The Super Mario Movie is dubbed. Is that OK?" Works far better.
poor guy is handled a badly translated script from the show hosts. cant blame him
He gotta memorized the script. He gets paid for it. so it ain't his fault.
They are given script understood by Japanese, I believe
"Is that ok?"
I think the Japanese might get confused by "that" and started wondering what "that" means
But if you said "is dubbing okay"?
They hear the word "dubbing" and "okay" so they know that the person is asking if dubbing is okay to them
I'm explaining from the view point of someone who has learnt foreign languages. When i can't understand what the sentence means, I reconstruct it based on the limited words I can understand
wrong. dubbing is fine and correct. dont be anal
So in english "dubbing" means "to copy it" and the word "dubbed" means "to translate it"... the girl that said she does not want to watch a stolen movie was actually more correct then anyone else but she got points taken off..only time I have EVER heard some one say they are gonna "dub a movie" or "dub a CD" meant they are making an illegal copy
ricky when i catch you ricky 😾
Reading the comments I've come to think native English speakers would struggle more than the actors, getting caught on technicalities and having a meltdown. Funny that.
Ive been on the counter selling stuff before. And simple words mean alot in atleast tickets sales. in a theater, "Ticket please, 2 big 1 small for Shrek" lol thats plenty enough for ticket buying, Now for food its a different story LOL
"The movie is showing today, is 'dubbing' okay?"
It should REALLY just be "is 'Dubbed' okay?"
Not in that sentence structure. If you leave the grammar the same, it should be "dubbing".
@@Xethavoshnah it’s dubbed. Saying dubbing sounds unnatural in this situation. In fact, I’ve never even heard anybody say dubbing. Unless they’re currently dubbing the episode or movie other than that you say dubbed, since it’s in past tense.
@@user-ql3ki5qm6z This might vary by country, I have heard dubbing but a lot of people in the comments seem to think like you, is it an American thing?
@@moyga that might be the case
@@user-ql3ki5qm6z If I say "Do you want to watch this Japanese movie with English dubbing or English subtitles?", that sounds really weird to you?
They don’t have any movie theatres with Japanese subtitles in the US 😂
If you were asking the question to the guy, it would be: "is it subtitled or dubbed?". If he was responding, he would say: "it's dubbed. Is that okay?".
To be fair im American and had no idea what he was saying when he would say in dubbing, like I thought he was saying it’s in Dabin lol
"It's in dubbly" like Smell the Glove by Spinal Tap
I love how she's really trying this time, and Ricky can't accept unless she actually gets the vocab correct, but Ano's right, it's the feeling that counts ;)
Thanks for posting!
She made absolutely no sense XD no shortcuts learning a language.
I have never heard anyone say "the movie is in dubbing" or "is dubbing ok?'" lmao always thought it was verb and in this situation I'd just use "dubbed"
Irrelevant observation to say the least
@@distinctloafer Completely relevant. Saying 'dubbing' instead of 'dubbed' as a descriptor is strange and probably throws these non-native speakers for a loop because it's a gerund where you don't expect one
@@EricThomason Sigh, you really want me to school you huh.
The reason they say "dubbing" is precisely because it's phonetically more distinguishable, in contrary to "dubbed". He chose to say "dubbing" to go easy on them, had he say "dubbed", half wouldn't even register. It's just one sound block. It's really common that we choose words that is easily identifiable, rather than what is usually used when speaking to non native.
Stop wasting me time
Not trying to stir the war, but you see, even japanese want subs than dubs. Native audio is the better choice to captivate the natural experience, and just let subtitles do the translation for you. I would think that international movies starring foreigners would also sound weird being in their language japanese. 😅
Which language is the native language for Mario though?
I need more thing like this 😂
English must be hard for these young people? They all did a great job. Japanese is even harder for us to learn!
Mother, father and chilled.
Laugh my ass out lol!!
0:52 We would say, "2 Adult(s), 1 Child"
Yosuke Kishi 🔥❤️
The english from the guy they hired is a little off. I wonder if he is following a fixed script.
I think it must be a script because it's a little unnatural.
Unfortunately its definitely scripted, and I highly doubt the guy "Ricky" had any say in doing it right
according to his model sheet he comes from Jamaica f-w.co.jp/catalog/?modelId=5626&detailflg=1
yoshinopro.jp/ricky
which is the official language of the country according to wikipedia
@@anochanfanclub5370 I had a feeling he was Jamaican based on his slight accent, his normal English should be fine then
Like 99% of the comments are talking about how he's saying it wrong. People, a script got handed to him, and he read from it . He probably doesn't have a say in whether it's dubbing or dubbed lol
Hmmm what show is this?
Murashiges expression when counted the tickets haha
so cute ;P
"sub" is actually acceptable haha. dubbed is like dub so sub is already okay.
Su-Pi-I-Ki-Nm-Gu-Te-Su-To
Aka Speaking Test
EGG?!
What show is this?
ticket
Please start subbing the entire program 😂😂
already done th-cam.com/video/MQ481sbrjYI/w-d-xo.html
@@anochanfanclub5370 Did you send it somewhere else?
@@anochanfanclub5370 link no longer available
can i buy tickets?
two adults and one child
I prefer the movie with subtitles
So Funny!!
8:22 she couldve just shown 2 of her fingers but bestie counted all the way to 14, i cant- 💀😭
Go watch the sequence with French subtitles. In many languages we use 14 instead of 2 for 2pm so it's not completely insane what she did /g /pos
@anochanfanclub5370 yeah, ik that but ik in Japanese to say 2pm it's 午後二時 (gogo ni ji) ni being 2 but ig some ppl in japan do refer to the 24 hr clock too
@@imashoe1029 yes I just learned that I went to see 2pm in Japanese to write this comment :D
We cool kids say 14 o'clock
@@RohitKulan lolll, alri

What’s the name of this TV show? 😅
呼び出し先生タナカ
Murashige should speak russian just to be Funny 😂
Why does the guy speak such weird English though? The movie is dubbed - sounds more natural but he had to speak in such an unnatural way lol
It’s not his fault that’s the fault of the script
whats the name of this show?
呼び出し先生タナカ
Call teacher Tanaka
Is this show learning English program?
No, it's an entertainment show where celebrities in Japan go back to school with an overbearing teacher who is basically a comedian and humorist
