RC boat build tutorial.
This 50cm or 20" Mono hull is easy to build, even for entry-level hobbyists.
But it is a performer!
In the future, we will upgrade it, to beat 80km/h or 50mph.
My most favourite channel.. love you from Bangladesh ❤❤
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Another great build.Stable, fast and well tuned. Awesome, keep it coming!
Thank you Sakibian! More videos to Come for sure 😎
Great run Jan! So stable for it's size! Your sons gonna love it.
@kaprc631 Thanks Dim! Yes, they are eager to test it out tomorrow!
Fantastic little wild thing, love it.Rides perfect in the choppy water ,well done.Thank you
Thank you, I appreciate it! Maybe build one yourself, too? 😎
Damn! Its great and I am suprprised with the speed on 2600kV motor. I have the same size wooden cat with 2948 3450kV rocket motor you recommended on part list. I used 33mm prop and my problem is very very hot motor. I think the reason for that was not balanced and sharpened prop. I think it makes sense compared to your boat with even bigger prop and motor slightly warm.
You're right, this 2600kV motor is just a mild setup. I had this one laying around, that's why I used it. Regarding the Rocket motor: I have the 2948 3450kV on my Cozy F1 Tunnel on 4S! It runs very light, and not hot at all. Top speed: 89km/h!
That motor would absolutely rip in this boat. Only about 900 grams RTR weight also helps to keep the motor happy. We will soon find out!
By the way: I updated the parts list. The motor coupler was the wrong size. It must be 3.17 to 3.17mm and not 4 to 3.17mm. Just so you know! ✌️
Looks really great 👍🏽
Thanks Jason! Its a very fun project! Looking forward to your twin mono updates as well ✌️
It runs very good! Top build 👍
Thanks Peter! How about adding one to your boats?
@@CozyRC Man, i haven't had the time to do anything to my boats for about 9 weeks or more (not even celebrated my birthday), don't know exactly. So cant run Dom or twin build (which is at a stand still). Im almost done with my porch/garden but still have to do lots off things. It took a hole lot longer than i imagined (i will be nice though, so im proud off that) but my body doesn't always want to work as hard as i would like or protests. So at the time... please no!
Also kind off glad weather sucks, makes it easier to cope with the idea i can't run my boats... 😉
I get it! House jobs are important and time-consuming. I just started painting the outside of my house (window frames). Lots of work, but maintaining my house is required!
I think your mini mono goes better in the rough water than my 33” deltaforce. Great work man
Thanks James! I was very surprised too see it handling the chop so well. It looks better than my 32" Wildthing! Maybe due to less hull surface / lift? Of course the speed is much different too, but I will upgrade this mini soon enough 😁
Nice! The balance looks on point based on the slow mo at the end👍👍🤙
Thanks! The cog is at 33% from the transom, with a horizontal strut and horizontal trim tabs. It seems to be a great starting point! ✌️
Nice!!
Thanks Thomas 😎
Niice‼️ i have to get my nitro boat running now, and when its running i got to do a big boat whit a 2-stroke engine from grass trimmer😎 👌🏻👍🏻
My nitro boat is from the 90's, JET STREM 1000👍🏻 its 1m7cm long😎 but my next project Will be arount 1&half meter long V-bottom boat whit the 2-smoke engine from a trimmer😎👌🏻
Sounds good! I'm sized down with this mini mono, and you are sizing up 😎. Have fun!
I know the Jet Stream from Kyosho! As a kid, I read their catalogues until they fell apart 😄
The joy în your voice😊
Yes, it's such a fun running boat! With my bigger (expensive) boats, I always have some fear of crashing or breakdown (you probably recognize that). With this boat I don't. It's budget friendly, and easy to build even an entirely new one, if I would destroy it.
It was the most RC fun I had this year!
Hi Cozy, a question, are the tracks under the keel not necessary for this mini mono?
These are called strakes, and they are not required. That makes it easier to build as well!
@@CozyRC ok
Hey dj what kind of paper do you print this on it looked like a sticker?
Hi, it's just plain paper, but I stick it to the paper by Pritt stick (glue stick) ✌️
Great series Dirk
Did you glass laminate the inside or outside of the hull for strength
Would you say this build is easier or harder than the full size wild thing
👍
Thanks Brenton! This boat is identical to the full-size Wildthing, so the build difficulty is the same, except I didn't glass the boat, so it builds faster, cheaper, and easier for novice boat builders!
Is there a link for the upgrade brass props ?
Thanks
Yes, here you go: a.aliexpress.com/_EviM3BV
It has a 4mm bore, so you would need a sleeve 4 to 3.17mm to fit the prop shaft (If you ordered from the parts list). I did just use a piece of aluminium tube 4-3mm and filed the 3mm internal diameter slightly bigger, to fit the prop shaft. I will show it in a future video!
Awesome so smoth and stable so far anyway what is the measurement on that body?..how long/ wide?
Thank you! The hull is 50cm long and about 15cm wide. How about building one yourself?
listening to the music with headphones is rough, kept hearing what i thought was cats fighting outside. turns out it was super faint screaming or something sounds embeded behind all the music. kept stopping the video to look for my cats thinking shit was going down.
@@alanunruh7310 Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate it! I wasn't aware of that. I'm indeed experimenting with the music. TH-cam requires to use copyright free music only (which is understandable). I will try to pick the music more carefully 😉.
At least the maiden run part of the video should not have that issue, right?
@@CozyRC lol no i figured that was that was happening. and like i said no one else in comments noticed it. and i figured its most likely because i was sitting in a very quiet house early morning with headphones blasting!!
your not the only person with videos ive noticed it happen to. especially with the copyrights its much better to grab a quick ai clip. lol i love playing with udio when i get bored and ive noticed it has done same thing to some of the stuff ive made. my assumption is that since udio does ALL of it ai your getting really horrible mixes and feedbacks in the audio tracks themselves. if that makes any sense lol.
yours was just special lol cuz that faint noise sounded just like my cats getting into outside :P and it took like 3 or 4 times before i realized its on the video so it was super faint. i certainly would think much about it.
How thick should the servo, rudder link should be. My boat is a catamaran with a length of 29 inches(70cm). i cut the thin (about 1.5mm) metal stick from an umbrella to use as the servo, rudder link. Do you think that would be strong enough?
That depends on the boat size, the steering rod length, the material, and the diameter. For your boat, I would use a 2mm stainless rod. 1.5mm might work as well, if the rod length is not too big.
I like the DIY solution, taking a rod from an umbrella! Sounds like I could have done that too 😅
@@CozyRCgot it, thanks
what size is this boat please so I know what size wood to order?
@grrfy The boat is 50cm long. Please note, the deck and bottom plating is bended, so the flat patterns are slightly larger than 50cm. Have fun building!
@@CozyRC ahh thank you. I did just see the sizes after I typed haha, I cannot seem to find any wood or veneers long enough or thin enough
Where do you live? Maybe I can advice?
@@CozyRC I am in the UK I can find either the correct length ,,or correct thickness, but not both in combination it seems I am thinking it may be easier to scale up to get the correct proprtions of thickness to each part
For the bulkheads, basically any ply between 2mm-3mm will work. For the plating, I used 1mm, but you could use 0.8mm to 1.5mm thickness. How about this supplier: www.lathamtimber.co.uk/products/panels/plywood/birch-plywood/thin-finnish-birch?
